Give Me a Movie/TV Show/Song/Band and I Will Review (1 Viewer)

Oh and I don't hate all things "metal". Back in the day metal/rocker chicks were always much hotter than "alternative" chicks. They were always dumber, of course, but much hotter for sure.

Second takeaway from this thread... I know you despise all things metal, but other than that, you listen to some good tunes. You're missing the boat on Sugar/Bob Mould/Jawbox as stuff that should be firmly up your alley but with which you seem largely unfamiliar.

You shouldn't even have time to read this post right now. You should be downloading "Copper Blue", "Workbook", "Black Sheets of Rain" and "For Your Own Special Sweetheart."

:lmao:

How do you always have these at the ready? Do you have some sort of aggregator or set of 1,000 bookmarks with different memes/pictures on them for every occasion?

Suit yourself, but you're missing out on some really, really good music. As a fellow Pixies fan, I feel like these are bands that should/would translate. All I can do is lead the horse to water.

I was always into preppy chicks who wanted nothing to do with me. I found most of the metal chicks to be wildly unattractive. There were exceptions, of course, but those were few and far between. They usually drank and ####ed, though, so they had that going for them.

Yeah, maybe I confused "hotter" with "sluttier".

Never mind, I actually looked at the bottom of this one and saw the link.

Copper Blue is an excellent album and it is definitely right on point in terms of early-90s alternative stuff that OPM seems to like.

What about my post of the Red, White, and Blue?

These were the Three Colors films by Krzysztof Kieślowski
Sorry, I have not seen any of them.
I really like these three films especially Red. I hope you check them out
great stuff... Dekalog is pretty freaking amazing, if you're a Kieslowski fan
Red is great. John Malkovich cracks me up in that one.

Cool Hand Luke

the Clash

To Live and Die in L.A.
1. Great movie. Big Strother Martin fan.

2. Awesome. Not everything in their catalog is great but most are at least good. "London Calling" is one of the best albums from, that era. In my top 10 bands for sure.

3. Very underrated movie. It reeks of the 80s (wang Chung soundtrack) but still holds up. Also includes one of the better car chase scenes I've ever seen.

1. Black Flag

2. Dead Kennedys

3. Fear
All great punk bands. I went through a brief hardcore phase back in my early teens. Loved the energy. But eventually I lost interest in bands like these. Their "politics" and anger started to ring untrue for me. I went to a private school and lived in a 4 bedroom house with a pool. The establishment wasnt ####ing me over. .

Coming to America

48 Hours

Beverly Hills Cop

Golden Child

Shrek
1. Already covered

2. Very good flick. Nolte and Murphy were great together.

3. The cop/crime story was pretty terrible. But Murphy pretty much saved it. Reinhold was great too.

4. Very good for a kids movie. One of those movies I had no problems watching with my kids.

Every time you use that line it makes me want to start using it more, but then it's like I'm drunk and don't remember.

like a finger in your butt?

1. Built to Spill

2. Spoon
1. I don't know much about them. I've got a couple of their songs on spotify that are cool. I should probably have more.

2. Pretty much the same as above. "You got yr cherry bomb" is fantastic.

I don't really have an excuse for not knowing more about these bands.

Recommending Transference first is not something you see every day. Not that I don't celebrate their entire catalog, of course.

I don't care who does or doesn't like it, "You're The Worst" is back!

I actually do not celebrate all of it. outside of a couple songs (especially the guaranteed rumpshaker I Turn My Camera On) I thought Gimme Fiction and Ga^5 were pretty forgettable. Girls Can Tell, Transference and They Want My Soul are all SEUT.
