How's the back of my head looking these days?
My old man and I take each other out to eat at The Ringside for our birthdays. With a vegan for a wife currently, I almost never get a chance to dine at the steakhouses and it's hard to beat Ringside!
Onion ring, New York, garlic mash and two Breakside IPAs. Even gave me a dessert to go.
11/10 would smash again.
Yeah that was one of the best meals I've had recently. Those onion rings....
I boxed mine and took more than half home. The last time we were there, the waitress told me to heat up a cast iron skillet with some oil, crisp up the rings on both sides, then crack an egg or two in the middle of the rings and let it cook up. Then, top it all with some shredded cheese and she gave me some of the bacon bits and chives to take home. Incredible breakfast!
Plan on doing that again, but we don't have any eggs and I can't sell another kidney.

Folks on the old Las Vegas Advisor message boards met up all the time. Some got married; I attended one, and got my first royal flush at the Orleans after the reception

More psoriasis talk... the two creams prescribed by my dermatologist plus the oral steroid prescribed by my PCP (he was blown away that the derm didn't suggest this) SEEM to be working.
Only downside is the oral steroid is doing a number on my stomach.
Thanks for everyone's input here. I felt like an ogre there for a few weeks. Now I'm back to just being an old, ugly, fat guy.

Y'all heard about my hospital trip after having abdominal/flank/back pain?
I was awaken Tuesday night/Wednesday morning with pain again and couldn't go back to sleep. Considered going to ER early that morning but initially decided to just get an ultrasound and see my PCP the next day. But after consultation with my best friend who's a cardiologist, opted to go back to the ER yesterday afternoon. It was PACKED, but they got to me real fast... bloodwork, ultrasound (as opposed to CT scan done on Saturday), and met with the ER doc.
ER doc was absolutely certain I didn't have pancreatitis. He was confident it's just an extreme case of pulled muscle(s) in my back/flank. The stomach pain I had last week was likely tied to the oral steroid I was taking and then the subsequent back/side pain was completely unrelated. I have poor ergonomics at work and have a crappy mattress.
So spent 3 days in the hospital for basically nothing. I'm waiting to see the billing to decide if I'm going to request arbitration because of the misdiagnosis this past weekend.
At minimum, though, it was a nice wake-up call to improve my diet and perhaps cut back on binge drinking. But yeah, I have a completely healthy pancreas AND liver and can go back to life as normal. Pain meds and muscle relaxers, new mattress in my future and maybe some light weight-lifting a few days a month.
