My wife and son had to drive on that road on the day of the opening and said that the RR was mobbed. Police having to direct traffic and all that.Roy Rogers just reopened the restaurant for the first time in 30 years in New Jersey OMG

Deptford mall Roy Rodgers was my hallow ground as a kid /teenMy wife and son had to drive on that road on the day of the opening and said that the RR was mobbed. Police having to direct traffic and all that.Roy Rogers just reopened the restaurant for the first time in 30 years in New Jersey OMG
Those were my hangouts back in the day. There was one near my school, my house, my friend's house and in the town where the coolest record stores were. My group of friends spent a lot of time in those four locations throughout high school -- we would grab a table in a far corner, stuff our face with Double R Bar burgers and shoot the sh!t for hours.
I'll check it out in a few months after the frenzy dies down.
Where in/around the mall was it? I grew up on the PA side so I never set foot in Deptford until well after RR left the area.Deptford mall Roy Rodgers was my hallow ground as a kid /teenMy wife and son had to drive on that road on the day of the opening and said that the RR was mobbed. Well I haven't been there in years so not sure what the mall looks like now. But back then there was no food court. Just a Farrells by the entrance. Something else and Roys was second floor in the middle of the mall. It looked like a regular store front. We are talking late 70s into the latest 80s. God I'm oldWhere in/around the mall was it? I remember Neshaniny Mall, well the name anyway. It was our backup mall (or tier 2), after Oxford Valley. All my paperboy money (BCCT for the win) went to silk-screened tshirts. Moved away when I was 16, basically ending my mall days.Had a Roy’s at Neshaminy mall just up the road from far NE Philly. It had the barrel seats and everything. Fixins bar was basically my white trash salad bar.
Oxford Valley mall was our swanky mall and further up the road. I remember it had a spiral ramp between floors in the middle of the mall. It also had a Farrell’s too which was awesome.I remember Neshaniny Mall, well the name anyway. It was our backup mall (or tier 2), after Oxford Valley. Ha! I'll bring it down a notch and shout out Village Mall in Horsham. There was not much to it, but for a pizza joint where you could watch a guy spin the dough. Can't remember the name of the place.LOOK AT MR SWANKY MALLI remember Neshaniny Mall, well the name anyway. It was our backup mall (or tier 2), after Oxford Valley. There’s a name I haven’t heard in quite some timemy kid didn't believe Ish Kabibble was real
my kid didn't believe Ish Kabibble was real
long story is when my kid says something that i didn't understand, or can't make sense of, i reply "you know, i went to school with/grew up with/worked with (word that i misunderstood, which can usually be related to a name that my brain connects to it)"my kid didn't believe Ish Kabibble was real
I need to understand how Ish Kabibble came up in conversation.
Shheeeeettt... I wish I had gone to places like Maui (or Europe, or wherever) when I was that age. Good stuff!Kid is going to Maui for a week. Oh to be 18/19 again.
