GM's thread about nothing (28 Viewers)

and watching Big Brother.
I want to sound patronizing, this is horrible. Just horrible.
No question about it. :yawn:ETA: Would it help if I mentioned that I don't find Seinfeld funny any more, either?
As much as I don't like Seinfeld, I'm also fascinated that it's apparently aged so poorly. I mean I've never liked it, but I've heard a lot of people say that it hasn't held up for them.

Jerry's black jeans always really, really bothered me.

Black jeans just make no sense.

I have absolutely no interest in FF anymore... it just bores me.
Charv- Any interest in doing a regular gambling segment on my radio show?
I might... what are we talking? Semi-Anonymity/Pseudonym? How often is regular? Also, are we talking picks or something more strategic?
Saturday mornings if you're up (show is at 9am eastern). Pseudonym if you like. Just a brief breakdown and some picks.

This could be awesome...DO IT Charv!

I reaaaallly, reaaaally wish there was a way to link to a Mental Health Break from Andrew Sullivan's blog that was posted on or about 17 Aug 2010 04:20 pm without getting this thread shut down. It's got something for everyone; a girl Shuke would love, literary references, a catchy tune, sci fi. It hurts my heart that I might be the only one that's seen it.
5 stars

I'm intrigued... what's the topic of the show? Sports in general or just football?

Typical sports format, but it'll be 95% football once college and pros get started. We could throw some hockey picks in just for giggles.

Where is draft chat taking place?
I have no chat abilities, so at least let me know what to download. AIM still the standard?
GM> set homer up at new address if you'd like.
I love the Swedes. :excited:

So anyway, I just finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo yesterday. Should we make out now or what?
My wife said this book was dog####. I gave it about 5 pages and concurred.

My wife's best friend is a chick straight out of Sweden who came over here as an exchange student and never left. I haven't slept with her.Yet.

It was the only book I had on hand, so I gave it an extraordinary amount of leeway. Srsly, I would have bailed 9 times if I had something else handy. The last half was pretty spectacular, but I still wouldn't recommend it to anyone.I remember thinking, Finally it's getting good somewhere around page 300. That's right...300 pages to get interesting. I really have no idea how this book got popular, let alone published.

The books are indeed heavy and tough to get into, but all three novels in the millennium series was made into movies (2008/09/10) I believe. I could possibly hoof some with English subtitles if I can find them again.

I'm sure they're not hard to find on torrent sites. The only reason I got the book was because David Fincher is making the American version of the movie. I'm a big fan of his work.I also bought the second book, but I'm going to read reviews from people that didn't like the first one before I even think about starting #2. Now that I'm down with the characters, this one might take less than 300 friggin' pages to get interesting.

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was a great flick. Not sure they're going to improve on the original. Rape scene was a bit much for my girl to handle but other than that solid flick.

My wife said the exact same thing about the 300 page mark.

I leave tomorrow for 18 days in South Africa (via Amsterdam), Zambia, and Zimbabwe. At what point should I start packing?
Have fun, k4. If you see a pretty Indian chick in Zambia who works for the US Census Dept, slip her some tongue for me.

I've read all three books and thougft that they were okay. GWTDT is tough to get into, I picked it up and put or down many times over the course of about three months. Finally got halfway in and it took off. The next two were even better but I'm not really sure what the hype is about. I rented the GWTDT movie recently and really enjoyed. Hope it doesn't get ruined in the remake.

I will have to think this over, mostly considering the timing. I'm central and 8am would collide with some prior commitments, but they can potentially be rescheduled. Give me a couple of days.

We've had some discussions around Fincher's version in chat. It seems that Stellan Skarsgard will have one role, which would fit him perfectly, but the main concern we had was who they will cast in the Lisbeth Salander role. That role is such a key character, so I feel the success of the trilogy will depend on it.
