GM's thread about nothing (20 Viewers)

I don't think that Florida offers either meat raffles or kittenball.
So two more positive things about FLA.
My wife wants to take the boys to Walt Disney town but I'm not sure if we should take our carriage or the auto gyro.
I would suggest coming to Disneyland but there is a crapload more stuff in Orlando.
Oh I'm not taking them to either.
:lmao: You're a stand-up guy.

I don't really know. I think we're looking in the Orlando/Kissimmee area ideally and working out from there. I'm currently a Category Manager and have done that for four years, and have working in the CPG and/or retail entertainment industry for about 13 years.
You have the fevor too, huh?I would think Disney or one of the other parks would be the first places to start sniffing around. Also, if you're going to be that far south, you might as well look into the Tampa area, but don't go Scientologist on us if you do move there. You can probably also catch a bigger fish than a pinfish.
Yep. I've always wanted to live near the ocean and my wife's always wanted to live near the beach, but we never did it. After spending a week there with the kids we're seriously considering it, at least to the point where we're looking into jobs and housing and what not. And I'm pretty sure those were pretty big pinfish.
If you want to live near a colder ocean, a rockier beach and considerably less sunshine most of the year, let me know. I would imagine you would have a decent shot at getting a paid relo up here

Can't even send Keys a message on facebook anymore. I of all people can understand screwing up this kind of thing and how embarrassing it is, but damn.
Yeah, who did you Smoo again? Some fantasy football league?
It was Brit, and if Brit wasn't as nice as he is, PN would be dead.
When I was going through my divorce I wasn't handling much of anything so well, and up and quit the mortgage business and left a couple clients hanging. Brit was one of them. 100% my bad. Also, at this same time, I was in a beer it forward and didn't send the beer in the timeline I was supposed to. Ended up sending the beer, and didn't actually get the beer that was going to be sent to me, but such is life.

It was a pretty crappy time. Wish I'd have handled it better.
What I've been completely confused by is your insistence to conflate these two completely separate issues with one another.

I only mentioned Orlando because we have family that lives there. I don't know how far it is from the ocean. I'm not ruling out any area of Florida or focusing on any area. To be honest this probably won't end up happening anyway. I'd miss the meat raffles too much.
I have a house for sale in Jacksonville. Located on the Intracoastal, with a dock and a pool, 1 acre yard and two miles from the beach. I'll knock $1k off of asking price for some more movies. :moneybag:
I think you were on hiatus when I posted before that Romo and I are possibly roadtripping to SF for a friend's wedding. The route I've pulled up has us going directly through Oildale. :coffee:
:lmao: Actually that would be a longer route than necessary...if you're coming from LA.
Google Maps gives me two routes, and Route 1 is the default. Also, it kind of allows us to go by the Grand Canyon, which I've never seen.

Sounds spendy.

I've lost 20 pounds and am wearing suit pants with a 32" waist. I don't think I've worn these pants in at least 5 years. I've also gotten drunk the last 3 nights and have the whiskey angry. I want to beat these OWS people for what they are doing to our city. Badly.

Ahhh...well the leg of the trip through my neck of the woods wouldn't actually put you through Oildale proper. You would, however, get to see quite a bit of B-Town.

Which texting app should I be using on my Android so these group texts make some kind of sense?TIA
You're screwed. I've tried a bunch of them and the "Reply All" function is only on the stock app...and it sucks harder than, well, I don't want a timeout. But Handcent and Go SMS Pro are the ones I've used that I liked. Currently using the latter.

My 5 year old daughter received an award for being respectful to her classmates and her teacher today at school. :excited:

The best part about it? They only gave out 6 awards, instead of giving every kid a friggen award.

<------------------- Proud dad

Damn. I'm using SMS Pro now and thought I was just missing something. The BB was at least good at the texting feature.

Cross posting: My link

I've had a pretty awesome week of concert going. :banned:
I'm still not sold on Cloud Nothings. Their first album was pretty shoddy and I'm typically a big fan of popish stuff. The latest album is much better but their songwriting drives me up the wall sometimes.

Bentley asked what I was referring to. I told him both things I'd done wrong. I'm not sure what you think I'm trying to do here.

I like the random texts. Most of the time it takes me awhile to figure out WTH is going on. :lmao:

California >>>> Florida
:goodposting: Florida citizens can be a little.....off. :unsure:Not any of OUR Florida citizens, but man, I spent some time in Pensacola and whoa....

I appreciate this. Probably not worth getting into; not trying to be attention-whorish. Things just notsogood here.I am going to bed. Given that I haven't slept more than two hours in any night for the past two weeks, I'll see y'all tomorrow night and will just stay up instead of pretending I'm going to get some sleep before work.
Hang in there
It's a kitty! :)

My best Memphis friends are moving to Seattle in August-ish. I need to hook them in with you guys, but somehow not in a "you should hang out with my innerwebz friends" kind of way.

lose the first round of the NCAA or win the NIT?
This is an excellent question. Has to be the latter? You not only go out of your season a winner, but you can do the "we should have made it to the Big Dance" thing instead of the "we never should have made it anyway" thing.

I've never had a panic attack or anything like that, but anytime I'm on a bridge, even if it's just going over another 2 lane highway, I have a feeling of uneasiness. It's completely irrational so I've learned to control it. But it's still there. Pretty sure it stems from the San Francisco quake of 89 where I watched a car fall on TV.
i stopped driving over the Hoan after that ####er fell apart

Yeah, that one really gets my heart pumping a little bit. Did you know they wanted to put a bike lane on that thing? :loco:

had not heard that but.. that's really ####ing dumb
:lmao It was going to cost $10M and shut down one northbound lane. Or, they were going to build a lane ABOVE the current road for ~$100M.But yeah, they're starting to do an overall reconstruction on it next year I think.

Fun Friday night of registering for baby shower gifts. Thank Tebow for beer.

I'm supposed to do research on car seats. Anyone got a subscription to Consumer Report?
Just go with a britax/research
I'm being told that price is part of the equation

I had a Britax and got a Cosco brand one from Target for my parents when I would go and visit them. The Britax was so much more convenient and much much easier to adjust and use. Maybe look around Criagslist?Oh and when my daughter was little, the "pumpkin seat" style carrier that snaps into a base was $$I just went with the Graco for this one
