Guster >>> WTF is this Jason Isbell guy? I listened to the DBTs a long time ago but not in a while. His "Southeastern" record is fanfukcingtastic. Been listening all afternoon. This record would have been the perfect Ryan Adams record between Stranger's Almanac and Gold.

ETA: "Elephant" may be the best country ballad since "Avenues."
He actually opened up for Ryan Adams in town a couple years ago  And yeah, Elephant is really good. Cover Me Up and Traveling Alone are two other "hits" from the album but the whole thing is good.

They put on a great show too.

You guys going to meditate for the next couple hours or calling it a night?

With a lot of discipline, no sight-seeing, trading off driving duties, and a liberal right foot, you could make that in 3 days.
Oh, I have a liberal right foot, if you know what I mean? ;) *

* I don't know what this means either.

ANNOUNCE: I am more than halfway through Season 3 of Breaking Bad, and while I've found this season a bit slow so far, I have concluded that Hank, whether you like him or not, is a fantastically written character.

The halfway point of Season 3 (and I suppose of the series) is "One Minute."

You've watched that one already?

Today, I signed up for a half marathon that takes place on Feb. 16 and verbally committed to a 150 mile bike ride that takes place in April. Not worried about the half marathon, but I think the fact that I don't own a bike may be a problem for the ride.

Yes, just finished. About to fire the next one up. I should have said that the season was a bit slow BEFORE that episode, come to think of it. I'm no doubt sticking with this through the end. Y'all have said it gets better and better so I'm looking forward to that. And the rate I'm tearing through these now definitely says something about my level of interest. :)

With one exception (that you will probably like a lot) I feel like "One Minute" essentially begins the 'real' show. Considering the buildup here and otherwise I don't think it's a spoiler to share that. From here on out it is a pretty intense ride. Hope you enjoy.

What the hell happened to this board? All of the threads that I've posted in are no longer white-dotted. User list at the bottom is gone, too.

Abe, what did you do?

I gotta admit, while I can appreciate the unexpectedness and spectacular overproduction for a local spot, that Georgia lawyer commercial is kinda overrated.

I don't know much about lawyers, but aren't personal injury attorneys just a step above trial lawyers who defend crooks? I mean it's not like he wanted to the Peace Corps after all this happen.

I drove from Arizona to Chicago and it's 2 good 14 hour days in the car. I can't imagine driving from Atlanta to Seattle. It would be beautiful I bet, but unless you have things to do along the way I just think I'd go insane.
I drove from Chicago to Arizona, and it most certainly is not.

. Sorry, it was 2 13 hour days in the car. I timed it, I averaged about 72 miles an hour with gas stops, and that's how long it took me.

I think he was taking issue with the word 'good' in your post.

Can I get an update on the last 3,554 pages?
(blews out)

-Tanner hates lots of things. There's a popular board game based on this fact, though, so you probably knew that.

-shuke has gout

-krista moved

-Frosti has 8 kids and loves meat sticks

-GM finally had a daughter, which pretty much has to be the universe evening things out

-Everybody SLB has ever met in person is dead

-krista moved

-pickles moved to Minnesota and still won't meet up with Tre and stryker and frosti and... somebody else lives up there, dammit. Who is it?

-I just pissed off at least one person by saying they live in Minnesota

-YRS is attempting to spend another 2000 pages pregnant. This one has a shvantz.

-TRE drank some booze

-80% of sexually active men have tossed sex grenades at zooks' shaft

-I'll be honest. I have a hard time remembering what's happened to Guster, thorn, and bogart. They've all kinda become one person to me. One person who loves peanut butter cups, super bowl squares, fingerbanging random women in strange places (like the backseat of a VW), juggles a kid while trying to land some ###, goes to Chamber of Commerce events to get drunk and hit on slutty women, and just got his heart broken by some ##### from Chicago. But I love him.

-Leeroy Jenkins got a new job and pissed off his family in the process.

-krista moved

-cos got high and opened like 4 new businesses in one location

-YRS wouldn't let flysack breastfeed, so he bolted

-Stu doesn't seem to like us anymore. Or he's spent the last several months at the 12th Annual Rock and Jock Pub Crawl and Hoola-Hoop for Hummingbirds

-Rude turned his hat around

-Tiger Fan has become the offical ice supplier of Pearl Jam

-The future ex Mrs. fish is probably bat#### crazy

-I think Truck is up to something

-krista moved

-Fuller still has toothpick legs

-bentley got drunk with his boys and taught them to pee from a moving car. Or something. He has a powerpoint explaining it all.

-HJS had a threesome with two over-aged women, one of whom might have been a lesbian.

-Uruk kicked cancer's ###, and the prize in the bottom of his cereal box was a s p y. With sexy consequences

-IB is maybe moving to Ohio if JC Penney is still hiring

-uni found a refrigerator box that doesn't leak. He's set for most of the year.

-Sweet J met a crazy fwb and disappeared from the face of the earth with keys

-Apologies to whoever I missed. PM shuke for details.

-Despite handling his finances worse than the government handles healthcare, Abe's having another kid and got a job selling ice to Tiger Fan

-oh, and krista is moving

One of my best friend's father passed away last night. A great great guy, extremely kind and generous. I think I may have spent more of my teenage years in their house than in my own house. They were very much like the Cunninghams on Happy Days, so much so that we used to joke that me and my other GB that would always go over to the house were "Ralph and Potsie" (though my boyish young looks reminded everyone of a young Chachi) My other GB and I would go over to their house when our buddy that lived there wasn't home and we'd play Pitch with his parents all night. We started our Fantasy Football League back in '94 and he had been in the league every single year, even these last few years when his health was bad. God, I loved talking football with him.

One of favorite memories of him was after our high school graduation, I was standing in his kitchen telling how much I loved the chicken wings his wife made and he put his arm around my shoulder and said: "Michael, if you want to have a happy life, find a woman who is good the kitchen and good in the bedroom" and then he looked across the room, pointed to his wife and when she looked at him, he blew her a kiss and then winked me and poured me a shot of Jack Daniels.

If or when you take a drink tonight, raise your glass to Jacko. A great father, husband, grandfather and friend.

The search function is gone, so I thought I'd ask here: Are there any quality 55" smart TVs out there for under $1000? Or will I be disappointed using anything at that price range? I was looking at this one and I would purchase likely at a Best Buy in Delaware (if in stock) so would avoid sales tax. Has anybody been in the market for a mid-level smart TV of late?

Condolences Zooks. I will have one for Jacko tonight.

I saw a 65" LED with wifi for ~$850 at Wal Mart over the weekend. If not for being broke I would have bought one.
