GM's thread about nothing (24 Viewers)

Well, I don't have cancer. Pretty ####### happy right now.ETASorry Zooks
Congrats!Quick related-hijack/story:A few years back, Ms. GPJ noticed a small growth on my satchel. We didn't tell anyone about it beforehand, I went in and got examined. Don't know how many people have been through this, but you basically lie on an operating table and they put this cold jelly stuff on your testes-satchel, and run a little radar thingy over it. It's cold. The whole time, the tech. was really nice. Older lady who was very kind and kept the mood upbeat, despite what she was looking for. So she finishes up, prints out the results and puts them in an envelope. And all of a sudden, she's stone-faced and very chilly. "Take these to the doctor down the hall." No smile or anything. ####.So I walk down the hall and it feels like a death-walk. Well, at least a death-walk for one of my nads. I was certain that I was ####ed, and the Dr. tells me I'm fine. WTF? Who does that? I can understand if the results are bad, but if they're good, can't you give a guy a heads-up? Especially after I've just let you...errr, nevermind.Anyway, good to hear that you're OK.

Check the wife's browsing history on her computer. If you find in-ground pools and kitchen remodeling, you'll need to have a talk. If you find www.google.com/q=pool&boys&discrete, then start hiding money.

Took Little Zooks to play mini-golf today and the little guy got a legitimate hole in one on a hole that wasn't easy. I was proud and also a little mad that I got a 3 on that hole. I almost told him to the shut the eff up a couple holes later when he kept talking about his hole in one.

Anyways, while we were there I saw some guy playing by himself. I'm guessing he was in his late 20's maybe early 30's. Who does this? Anyone here ever go play mini golf by yourself? You have to really LOVE mini golf to go by yourself. Right?
Was there anything else there? Lazer Tag? Bumperboats? Maybe his kids were off doing something else.
Just golf. Is every Mini-Golf on the West Coast like THIS? We're lucky there's an ice cream stand next to the course.
:lmao: Pretty much.

Yep, went trough that too and tech acted the exact same way. That was Act 1 about a week ago. I had to wait about the longest 20 minutes of my life for the results though.
GBSLB I didn't even know that was a concern for you. I must have skipped a few pages. Great news.
I didn't post about it. Heck nobody put Mrs. SLB & my parents knew. Oh yeah, and GM. I figured I'm enough of an attention whore the way it is. I'm just so relieved right now, I couldn't hold back.
Well, I don't have cancer. Pretty ####### happy right now.
GREAT!I had "no cancer by friday afternoon" in the pool.
:lmao: I hope you won a fortune.

There's a place out here in Socal called Jinky's. They have awesome pancakes. They even make a Red Velvet pancake. ###### I want one this weekend! DAMN YOU CARMAGEDDON!!!!
There's a SoCal food truck that serves Red Velvet pancakes. Buttermilk Truck. Heard they're awesome, follow the twitter and you might be able to find them on your side of the city.

BTW, Carmaggedon might be worse than the SuperDome during Katrina. It's gonna be hell out there. I'm gonna stockpile food and ammo, just in case. Can't wait to see a totally red SigAlert map.
What is Carmaggedon?
Some overblown news story about some west coast liberal p###ies having to take a detour for a day.
Jesus, who pissed on your stack of pancakes?

The rest of the country deals with detours and road construction all the time without feeling the need to whore for attention because of an inconvenience. Why the #### do I care that a few people in L.A. are going to have to drive a little out of their way for a few days? That's as much a national news story as my paperboy ####ing up all the houses he delivered to this morning.

Yeah...you do realize that you can't really compare the rest (or most) of the country to LA when it comes to freeways/expressways? That's like saying "The NYC subway system is down for a week? BFD. One time, in Des Moines, the city bus drivers went on strike for a whole day!"

Any of you guys coach little league? If we're having a boy, I'm definitely coaching. I love baseball
Assistant Head Coach/3rd Base Coach for my son's Single A League team. I had coached soccer and basketball prior and thought baseball would be a similar experience. It ain't. It's like driving a stick-shift compared to an automatic. You really take for granted all the nuances of baseball until you try to coach 6-8 year olds. The basics of hitting a baseball, catching with a mitt and throwing are just the beginning. Just wait until you try to explain force outs, tags, how to run the bases, where the plays are, where to position, how to pick up the coach....man. I'll absolutely do it again next year, but i'm just glad I'm not the head coach. It is TOUGH. Rewarding and fun, but tough. Our Head Coach is a Type-A who likes to control everything, which is great for baseball. The other thing about baseball is that - unlike hoops or soccer - there are 2-3 games a week and a LOT of practice. So it's a committment unlike any other. But it is a fantastic way to get closer to your sons. :thumbup:Lastly (and I think this is very important) you get to know your sons' friends. That is very valuable, IMO.

I don't really give a #### about people in NY or Des Moines being a little inconvenienced either. It sucks for them, but it's not national news. shuke's not driving from BF, Ohio to LAX tomorrow. Why the hell does he care if the megastate freelot is closed?

Link to where I said I was asked to worry about it? If it's on the national news, it's reasonable to expect that a substantial number of people outside of one particular state should care. Approximately 15 people outside of California give a damn. And 14 of them are flying into LAX.

Also can't believe Tanner's never been to MumbuJumbu's.
Actually the real name of the place is Mama Roomba's. At least 5 people demanded the wife and I eat there. The place is the suck. The portions were so small Karen Carpenter complained. I order the jerk chicken. I told the wife it was more like 'jerk off chicken' and the waitress heard me. I was glad about that.
Pretty sure that's what GM snacks on while catching a jerk to "Cathouse" at 4am.

Oh yeah, the specialist asks me to take off my pants, bend over and put my elbows on the exam table. I do as I'm told and he says "ah, it looks like you've done this before".

I'll remember this next time there's some blizzard in the midwest or northeast. Or the next time the same river(s) that floods every year floods AGAIN.

Yes, because the destruction of life and property is on par with a traffic detour.

So when LA riots once its citizens realize that emergency services are unable to get anywhere, then you'll become interested? This is going to be like that traffic jam in China that lasted for four days, only with guns.

:goodposting: The annual California fires are a better equivalent for those things than the inconvenience of shutting down a major highway for a couple days.
