AT-ATs had legs so they could go over all terrain. Except deep water. That would be kind of a dealbreaker for them. Oh, and hot molten lava like the planet in the sixth movie, which was really the third movie that should never have been made. Or if you were attacking Lando Calrissian and the sky people. Or anywhere in space. But other than that, it was perfect for all terrains, which is in start contrast to all the things the rebels used, which fly.
 
Didn't catch up on any posts since I left, but Vegas was a good get away for us...much needed for me, at least. Little bit down for the trip, but at least we had fun and I did set a goal Sunday. My buddie and I worked out Sunday morning and I've been trying to get my bench max to a certain point for awhile...well, I got it not only once, but twice...so that was good.

GM, alert the boys...the FONZ was behind me in line at security when we left...he was very cool.

 
The 51-year old Assembly of God minister at Bryan's Bethel Temple Church placed an ad in Craigslist's Men-to-Men section, masquerading as a 20-year old male looking for some companionship. When he got an email response back he would tell them that he was only 16. If they were still interested, he would then arrive at their house claiming to be the boy's stepfather and blackmail them into allowing him to service them to ensure his silence.

He has admitted to having coerced sexual encounters with ten men. What's even stranger is that he tried to make post-coital small talk with one of the men, and texted later about how much he enjoyed meeting them. LINK

Traffic is picking up in the mornings and I saw a bus run this afternoon with rugrats on board, so some schools have started back here. What I'll never understand is why my traffic increases drastically at 5 PM on my way home from work during the school year. My 10 minute (tough, I know) drive from work to home turns into 30 minutes of boredom.

Thanks!I'm sure everything is ok. He has always sounded like a good kid with possibly a little over-abundance of personality. Wonder where he could have gotten that from.

Buddy of mine was on the Tony Bruno show tonight and I have no idea why. Those with excessive notebooking will know him as my Black friend® who is still killing it with the Caucasian cougar crowd.

I saw THE FONZ at a bookstore in Beaverton, OR a few months back. He proved his cool by rolling with questions about being the Fonz. A douchier actor would say "next question". Big fan.Nice work on the bench. :lmao:

The longer this thread continues, the more at risk it becomes for extinction. Hopefully, we can keep it from 'veering', but it's bound to hit a brick wall. That said, we know the types of things that won't 'fly here'. Let's try hard to avoid them. It may be a house of cards, but it feels like my house of cards in a way. I don't want to see this topple. I can't figure out the traffic patterns either. Live in Hoover, go through Ross Bridge before travelling through the hood to get downtown. 40 minutes, but it beats 65 traffic.

One of these things is not like the other...Superjohn is in middle Canada there somewhere. Same with Sack-Religious and MisfitBlondes.
 
The Kinks discussion a couple days back reminded me - over the weekend I heard a girl band covering 'Lola'. Very odd hearing a woman sing that song. I was thinking as I listened it would be really cool (and kinda hot) if they changed the lyrics to be from a woman's point of view, but they kept the lyrics the same and it was just..odd. And a little disappointing.

Yeah, 65 to downtown and back with the traffic is a PITA.I just have to deal with Valleydale from 65-Caldwell Mill.

I agree on the he/she thing in principle. Just thought that the potential reversal of the original "surprise" was an interesting idea. And the idea of possibly going out in drag to try and pick up a lesbian. :thumbup:And now that you mention it, I remember seeing the Raincoats on the radio display. Just trying to dash off a quick note at work and was too lazy to look it up. I'll put more research into my trivial posts in the future.
 
Mom is finally moving out of the house I grew up in. Met my sisters over there last night to start clearing out the place and to claim whatever we wanted to keep. Found a shoebox full of notes/letters from girls ranging from the 5th grade through freshman year of college. Pretty much an even split between themes of "true love forever" and "you're a butt hole" - one hell of a trip down memory lane.

God I wish I was young again. :thumbup:

Well, she got up in front of the room and immediately launched into a diatribe about how horrible my first marriage was, and how my father wrote me a letter prior to my previous wedding day, advising me not to go through with it and how by the end of the marriage, I was a beaten little man who couldn't find his smile. She continued to tell the crowd how I informed them a few months after my divorce that I was dating somebody (a fact they could tell already because I was now "full of glee" and not "mopey and said"), and when asked who it was, I told her "Well, you know her....it's the nanny", which despite being known by all previously, still elicited some 'ohhhs' and 'awwwws', as well as some stifled chuckles from my buddies, who were enjoying the trainwreck. Then she told them all that her initial reaction was one of horror, not because I was actually dating an employee and the child's caretaker, which would no doubt cause a firestorm when my ex-wife learned of it, but was worried sick I meant the OTHER nanny. We had 2 at the time and the other one is.....how do I put this politely....ugly as sin? So she basically told the crowd that she thought I was dating the ugly nanny. She was expecting a huge laugh, but she got crickets. It was awkward.

Saw the Wink on a plane from Dallas to LA last year. He was in first class but trying to look as non Fonz as he could. Wanted to ask him if he thinks he could still clear the shark but I had already paid for the ticket and did not want to be escorted off if he got froggy. No one wants to have to give the Fonz a beat down.
