Also, the reason I have read three Twilight books is for my wife. I love reading, and think it is just about the greatest thing ever, and I'll read anything. My two favorite authors are Stephen King and Kurt Vonnegut. I'll read the latest thriller from John Sandford and then follow it up with The Stranger by Camus. So I figured reading this wouldn't be too difficult, and since it really got my wife back into reading (she was a big reader as a kid but not so much as an adult) I figured I'd read them and then we could talk about them and hopefully she would get hooked on reading again and we could start reading the same books and dis4uss them. Yes I'm a huge nerd. I actually have a spreadsheet dating back to 2006 with every book I've read during the last four years (52 books in 2006, 62 in 2007, 43 in 2008, 27 in 2009, and 28 so far this year).

Thanks everyone. He seems to be responding well to antibiotics, even though we won't actually know what's wrong with him for another 24 hours or so. Some kind of infection seems to be the most likely suspect. His energy seems to be back up, he's eating again, and he hasn't had any of those episodes where he stops breathing and turns blue since last night. Hopefully everything is good, although it's likely he'll be kept for maybe as much as another week. Whatever works.And sorry for dumping this into a thread meant to be about humor. I just felt like I had to, you know?

Just got a phone call. Meningitis test came back negative, as did some other test for infection. There are still some things that haven't come back and could be pretty serious, but in general things are looking way, way up. Doctor now theorizing that it could be something as simple as some bad acid reflux that he choked on a couple of times, which isn't ideal but is far, far better than some of the other things that were being discussed.Everyone have drink to Ben!

UPDATE: Everything is going as well as we could hope. He's eating, filling up diapers, and showing a lot of the energy that was missing and causing concern. We won't know anything definitive until we get the lab results back and that probably won't be until tomorrow evening sometime, but things are definitely positive right now. I totally understand where he's coming from. Your dad could probably teach for the entire year with a class-set of books, a few reams of paper and a chalkboard and still kick ###. Technology can be a blessing but when you come right down to it you can be just as effective without it.On the other hand, I'd love to have a Smartboard. But only if I had absolutely everything to go with it AND it was top of the line stuff. The biggest problem with things like Smartboards is that you're talking about 3 or 4 things that can go wrong...comp, projector, Smartboard...and your whole lesson is shot.

My AC seems to blowing cool (but not cold) air, and the temp in the house is registering at 82 while it's also 82 outside. I'd love to have this figured out before wife stops home from the hopsital because lord knows she doesn't need more stress.
