GM's thread about nothing (25 Viewers)

I'm hammered.
My wife is out of town for 2 nights. I was just at the grocery store and walked by the beer aisle. I talked myself out of buying any. Not sure what the hell is wrong with me. Although I do plan on getting hammered tomorrow for the supercool online survivor magic football draft. I guess I can still walk to the Gas and Jerky for some cheap beer later. Might have to mull that over.

:sadbanana: There's a good change I might get snockered at my live draft on Sunday as well. Although I'm not sure if I want to appear intoxicated on the post draft interview.

I've tried to read through that weightloss thread. RC's posts were my favorites. Wasn't aware it was Bender.

Actually, read a bunch of the pages. Never made it all the way through. :fat:
Anything you need man, feel free to send me a message. I wouldn't have gotten to where I'm at without some timely advice from GM, Saints Man, and proninja (believe it or not). I'm happy to pay it forward to anyone who is down in a hole like I was or just want some direction.
Cool. I do wonder if you'll regret opening this door later. ;) I already shop on the outside aisles for the most part, but breakfast and lunch are usually bad. If I got in the habit of waking up early and making my own breakfast, I'd probably drop 10 pounds in no time. Taking the time to make my own lunch would have a similar effect and probably quickly too. The other 30 or more pounds might require some guidance. I'm at 250 now and used to carry the muscle mass to look alright around 200, but those days are probably gone too. Still, I need to get back there at least.I forget who was talking about it, but running is great. 2-2 1/2 years ago, I was up to about 25-30 miles the last week I ran, working up to that pretty gradually. I remember hitting 7, maybe 8 miles on my long run day, with a rest day scheduled the following one. By the time I got to that point, I was thinking about running on my way home from work every day and looking forward to it. I had the bug. I tried running the 5k I had mapped out the next day after that long run, and my achilles was possibly seconds from popping, I'm guessing from what I gathered talking to runners and doctors. Months went by before I could run again, and by the time I could, I considered jogging a chore. 40 pounds later... Just take it slow. I probably would've been a lot better off if I hadn't tried to push through the pain as I was a little over 2 miles into the jog when I first felt it and tried to push through, not stopping until about 2.5. Rest days are actually your friend, no matter how much you eventually might want to go for a jog on them. The last time I decided "today wasn't a good day to jog," I did so because my iPhone deleted my playlist somehow. Probably would've taken me 10 minutes or less to rectify, but I grabbed a beer and started cooking dinner instead. That was probably 3 months ago and I still haven't updated/synched my iPhone, nor have I gone for a jog. I didn't even run with an iPod/iPhone 2.5 years ago and I miss those days.
Absolutely not dude. If it wasn't for some of the dudes here I would have never got my #### together after my divorce. There was some wicked cool people that posted some quotes that I copied down and still read to this day whenever I'm having a ####ty day (namely GM, Saints Man and Bentley had a particularly good one). I would pay it forward 100 times over.

If you are interested in running - scroll through the Ran a 10K thread. I've been dealing with a lot of pain lately after being a fat guy who thought he was still a gaunt 130 pounds from high school and pushing way too hard. I also upload different genres of running mixes for the brethren over there which you can download for free and throw on your running mix.

PS - are you open to doing whatever I suggest for you if I show you my before/after pics? I'll take as much time out as you need because it's important to me to be candid as long as you're willing to be open minded about my meal plan and ####. Went from 325 pounds to 182 from 1/1/2010 until today.
Colorado to east coast must love westies?

Of course. "The Dish" is a Sunday tradition for me.

Home now. Ran into a buddy who I saw last in Seattle. Apparently he lives in San Diego now, but is here for a wedding. Partied with him and his gal about 4 years back in Seattle...good times.

His mom came over and was excited that he knew someone from here...she sat next to me and started chatting it up. I said to her the last time I saw her son he head a head of hair, but now he's shaved bald like me. She told me, "Don't tell Tim (her son), but his father has had a hair piece for years." Awesome.

I've been meaning to read through that thread for a while now. I need to take time to do it because it seemed better than any weight loss book I had ever read, making it through about 15 pages. I probably need to do so again and take some notes.I'll shoot you a PM soon. I know I already had some questions, but none of it matters without initiative, which has been lacking lately.

I started the Couch to 5k program this afternoon. I've always wanted to learn to run and learn to love to run, but I get so bored. This seems to be a really cool and completely doable program (thus far, on day one) for people who hate to run.
Is this something one would need to buy or is there some sort of free version? Sounds perfect for me.
www.c25k.comThere is a $2.99 app that I bought, though. It allows me to play my music on my iPhone while this runs in the background, and gives me cues for when to switch from running to walking, when I have reached 1/2 way point, etc.
Stick with it. Started with this in March - now running 16 miles a week and training for a 10K in October. So anyway, it works. Good luck.
   I did that half in June and have gotten SO lazy this past month. :pig:I have to sign back up for boot camp and another half so I can get my lardbutt in gear.On a fun note, I think I mentioned signing up for an "all girls" half marathon in May (Hippie Chicks Half). I'm not facebook buds with that race organizer after meeting her in June and now she taunts me by inviting me to ALL women oriented runs. I think I might take her up on the offer and try to break their little code. Don't I sort of have an obligation to do this? For mens rights? Or shtick?
Feel free to join us in the Ran a 10K thread sometime if you ever find the time. There's some pretty experienced runner's in there who do some amazing ####. Lots of good info, advice, tips, etc. You do have an obligation to do the race. Memorize the race numbers for the hottest chicks and post them so we can find the results on the interwebs and ogle their facebook pictures
I posted in there a few times in June when I did the Helvetia Half. I'll be back in. Lotta good stuff in that thread, though a little serious bidness for me in spots. I'm more of a run for fun kind of guy. Also, run because i'm fat kind of guy.

What makes it even funnier to me is that I sort of know that Jalen kid. He graduated from my alma mater a few years ago.
You know everyone who graduates from the same school you did 30 years ago?
:lmao: 30 years"sort of know" means I watched him play football 4 or 5 times. I also have friends who have kids that went to school and played sports with him. It's a small school and the only Catholic school in town. But I'm sure everyone is sleeping better knowing you're on the case.

Well I found a new bookie.Frosty, let's talk. And Reg. I noticed Reginald (Bender) basically lived in the grambling thread last time I frequented it.I think I want to change my style and make fewer, larger bets and try not to become completely obsessed with it. So if you guys could help me out with 10 picks a week that hit at a 70% clip, I'd appreciate it.I like the NO tout, esp. the halftime line suggestion.
I'll post my plays here once I get up and running during NFL season - you probably don't want to listen to me though. I took 6 months off after a brutal cold streak on the poker table and in the NFL. MLB is usually what I do best with. bmj87 is pretty good in that thread as is lumpy. TheGooRoo is the best in the business but usually only plays props which I doubt you can get through a local. Just stay away from MarshallPlan - he's the guy who comes into post his plays AFTER the game is over and brags about how awesome he did. Never heard him lamenting about a losing week once. Probably the reason I stopped posting in the Wagering thread. Had about enough of his crap.I believe there was a guy in the Shark Pool who hit a pretty high percentage the past few years on NFL games - I think koyrunner or something was his handle.

yeah, I agree with your eval of the cast of characters over there. like 20% of it, its the other 80% you have to wade thru to get to it.I also play much more mlb than nfl.I am starting to think the NFL is unbeatable with a vig.

I remember reading an article back in the day about a Las Vegas man who won consistently betting on college basketball, because at the time he focused only on college basketball and stayed ahead of the Vegas books as far as knowledge and information went.I'm not sure with today's technology, anyone can find any sport where they can get a knowledge and information edge over the house. Would be interesting to see if there was any sport out there where you could. WNBA? MLS? Ping Pong?

Love Ryan Williams, and sad to see his season end this way.

Take the fantasy implications to other threads, as well as the Dynasty and trade talks. That's not what this is for.

Here's hoping that yet another rehab for Ryan Williams goes well.
?????

Last I looked this was a fantasy football board. Fantasy implications are exactly what this thread should be about. Otherwise, what? Expressions of condolences ad nauseum? Jeez, the guy didn't die.
This is a time for mourning.

RIP Ryan
Yeah, apparently that's how we're supposed to be in this thread. Hold on while I go put on black and just say nice things about Williams. That's allowable.
Good stuff in the SharkPool. This thread about this Ryan Williams character is very emotional. Also the Coach Otis' Hawk Value thread is gold. Otis is killing it in there, but the responses that are taking his picks so serious are even better.

I've been running well this season but it's all baseball props, and I'm usually playing 6-10 every day. If you're interested, shoot me a PM with your email address. I can either send you everything each day or if there's a particularly juicy one every so often could just send you those.

kroyrunner was $ in '09. Last year he [we] got hammered the first 6 weeks or so and then he disappeared. It was a VERY rough run.

lolz at him warning you about MP (good looking out, BTW). MP, Cos and I go way way back in a way back machine. True story: Marshall played one year in the HFFL with us. Probably 8 years ago...whatever year it was that Santana Moss blew up and had a huge year. I offered to trade him to MP for something very reasonable 1/3 of the way. Guy trashed the deal and called Moss a one game wonder. Never forget it.He's a bit on the boorish side.

I really should cut down on the internet. I got a text today from a woman I work with. I guess she was at the school and wanted to know if I was there so I could put in the alarm code.

"hey are you at school? i thought i saw your car in the parking lot"

I totally forgot I had her in my contacts. Her last name is "Bentley". She comes up on my phone as "Bentley"

My first thought? "When did I give FBG Bentley my phone number and why is he in Bakersfield?"

:bag:
