GM's thread about nothing (62 Viewers)

The best part is that as I'm driving to my house, my cell phone rings and it's my mom. I answered it saying "Now what?" And she says "oh nothing, I forgot to ask you what was the good news that someone wrote about on your facebook thing? Did you win something?" :lmao:
:lmao:

I tried to grade papers tonight.

Brain said, "NO!"

So I opened a Guinness and poured a shot of Jamesons.

Brain said, "YES!"

relatively new to this facebook thing, but is it normal for a woman to carry on a conversation with her own boyfriend through posts on her wall? why wouldn't they just call or text each other? 14 comments to her post so far, and they're all just the two of them going back and forth making plans for tomorrow.

I'm about to congratulate her and freak him out.

Not that unusual either. I have a couple friends who do this. I've blocked most of them. If you only know the chick and not the dude, start liking a lot of her stuff. If he's insecure it'll work wonders.

Not normal. The wife and I will "like" each other's pics or comments, and I may drop a smartass comment on her page, but to plan an effing evening together? If they can't call or text, why not message each other so everyone can't read it? I smell stupidity...

I like her stuff quite a bit.

I like the cut of your jib.

Just checked out the first episode of Mad Men, mostly due to the hype around these parts.

I lasted about 3/4ths in and shut it off.

Formulaic crap.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone in the GMTAN world who let me muck up your world with some posts about my mother's stroke and sudden passing. It helped me to have an outlet. I sincerely appreciate the many condolences and PMs and emails (bit disappointed about no faxes, but whatevs).

Also, I'd like to pass along an excellent reading recommendation from K4.

The Long Goodbye: A Memoir

Lot of good people around here. Thanks for being good iFriends.

:blackdot: Pretty sure mom has stage 4 cancer. :(

Brutal. So sorry. And to think I was coming in here to complain about how I think I'm getting a bald spot.

Sorry to hear that KGB. :(

What did you guys call pacifiers? Apparently we need a nickname. My sisters call them binkys, my gf was to call them bobos.

Mr. krista just sent me the following text from work: "This week can go #### itself. I know it's early still, but I'm ready to write off this week as an #######." Should be fun when he gets home from work!AND I just noticed that Mr. krista and former Mr. krista are now Facebook friends. Yay. :scared:
The second part is very impressive. It says a lot about your character and the people you surround yourself with...mostly.
Gay men?

Hug your dad today. If you can't hug him, call him.

In the whirlwind of Movember, getting healthy, and starting fresh, just got the news that my stepdad has lung cancer and about three months to live.

Waiting to get into ICU now to see him.
Ack, this will teach me to post about trivial things before reading through the thread. Really sorry you and your stepdad have a tough road ahead. Not to be a downer, but if the diagnosis is 100%, take advantage of the time. Some people don't get time to say goodbye.
Yes. Sorry to hear about this, Bogart. :(

Even though the scale says I've only gained two pounds in the last 3 months, my jeans say I'm doughier than a Sbarro double decker pizza slice. So I've cut out booze and incorporated the following work out program this week:

6:30-8:00 Wake up, take allergy medicines, vitamin and speed. Eat 2 probiotic yogurts.

8:00-8:30 Walk 4-6 miles.

11:00-12:00 Take more speed.

12:00-2:00 Eat lunch, a raw veggie salad, unless I'm entertaining.

4:00-5:00 Take more speed.

5:00-6:00 Walk 4-6 miles.

10:00-10:30 Take an Ambien.

Repeat

Also, just having a child and being a non drug user, when would be the best time to start smoking pot regularly?
I keep meaning to chime in with a "congrats"Kids are awesome and just get better with time (up to a point, I'm sure)...unless you have a Shuke-baby which comes out walking and talkingThe biggest shock for me with becoming a parent was how much you have to play doctor (and no, not as part of some bedroom fetish). Kid has a cough... What do I think it is?? Kennel cough, hoof and mouth, croup, whooping cough, food allergy, or just a plain ol' cough. When is it "worth" taking a trip to the doctor's???Good luck!
