GM's thread about nothing (22 Viewers)

It seems like a lot of people are thinking Tebow over Cam this week. Would I be crazy to do that?

Also, Ryan Grant, Willis McGahee, Demairyiriiryiryus thomas, Beanie Wells for two spots. PPR. Thoughts? I'm leaning toward Wells and Grant right now, but that obviously depends on Starks.

Now that it's fantasy Serious Businesstm time, I need to appeal to the collective wisdom of the true hawks of this bored. I'm seriously stumped on setting my lineupthis week and totally going to overthink this one.

Stafford vs. Oakland or Football Jesus vs. New England?

Michael Bush vs. Detroit or Ben Tate vs. Carolina?

NE Def vs. TeamTebow, Houston vs. Carolina or Titans vs. Indy

TIA. Will answer yours.
Stafford and Ten D easily. No idea on your RB situation. Please see mine:

Current WRs:

Greg Jennings

Brandon Lloyd

Damian Williams

Denarius Moore

Darrius Heyward-Bey

Riley Cooper

I'm looking at these guys available:

Jacoby Ford

Doug Baldwin

Randall Cobb

Mario Manningham

Demaryius Thomas

Titus Young

Kevin Walter

Which of these guys would benefit me the most? I am thinking Ford and Baldwin. Cobb makes me nervous with so many weapons on that team.

Obviously I can drop Jennings and Cooper. Also can drop Denver D and maybe Forte but I am not sure if he has a chance to be back week 16. I may take a stab at Felix since he was dropped a few weeks ago, but not sure if I would ever play him as I have Foster and Lynch.
The Oakland situation makes me nervous. With Moore's injury and the carousel of time the players see every week, I'd stay away. Young, Manningham, and Cobb are all seeing too few looks to be a safe play IMO so I'd stay away there. Why not consider Thomas? The past two weeks he should have had 4 TDs and they play one of the worst secondaries in the league this week. I'd pick up him and Baldwin. I also like Andre Roberts from Arizona.
I agree with Woz that I'm not a fan of the Oakland passing game right now. Carson Palmer would have been doing Oakland a favor by staying retired. He's terrible. And you never know who is getting the ball anyway. I do like Baldwin and Thomas. I like Manningham too as well. With Cruz dinged a bit, Manningham could see an extra rise in production and Eli is on fire right now. In fact, with that offense right now, I think he has the best QB of all those guys by far and that is appealing to me when we talk about WRs that are all a bit of a lower level.

The Patriots defense stinks. And with the Denver defense playing really well and able to get after the QB a ton, I don't think that New England will be able to run up the score enough to take the Denver running game out of it. I say McGahee and Wells. No guts, no glory.
THE SHARK POOL IS ELSEWHERE
Someone doesn't know the SP rules. No lineup questions in the SP buddy.

Crazy? No, but I don't think I would. Cam's been so good all year that his floor is still pretty high. I like Tebow this week and would maybe pull the trigger if you are the underdog. Definitely Beanie. If McGahee has a good week of practice I think he sees plenty of touches next week so I'd go there. He's also kinda like your hedge if you choose to start Cam over Jesus.

My dilemma:I get 1 transaction before the playoffs. 1 pt 10 yds, NO PPR.My RBs: (start 2)R. RiceD. WilliamsM. IngramK. SmithMy WR's/TE's (start 3)WallaceVJaxJ. GrahamJ. FordT. YoungHere are list of players I can choose.Ryan GrantC. IvoryD. ThomasBaldwinDriverCobbL. MooreJ. Jones
Gutsy call, but I'd think of dropping Ford for Baldwin.
And I would start Baldwin over Wallace, VJax or Jimmy G??I'm thinking I need to go with a RB. Can I trust starting K. Smith, D. Williams or Ingram as my #2? My opponent has CJ @ Indy and Wells vs. Cleveland. Does Ryan Grant keep going next week vs. KC??
I'm a Grant owner. The guy is one of the reasons I failed to make the playoffs. I've watched him all year and trust me: last week was an anomaly. It wasn't an anomaly because he's suddenly recovered from injury, no, he's had the ability all year. It was anomaly because GB let him run a bit more than usual. I don't see this becoming their regular gameplan after winning so many games with the Rodgers Show. You have to expect him to return to his 10 carries a game and 30 yards of nothing. Which makes Grant worthless. Your RB#2 situation sucks, but you aren't going to improve it on the WW. I would take Baldwin for a potential start over VJax one week and/or depth. But that's just me.ETA: but others probably have better advice. Mine is only worth slightly more than a SP loon's.
I actually disagree here. I'd pick up Grant for options - I agree Grant isn't good, but if Starks remains out you know he's going to get like 20 touches and that may be better production than what you got. I wouldn't touch Ingram in the playoffs. DWill is hit or miss. Pick up Grant for Kevin Smith. While I like Baldwin, I think you'd be crazy to pick him up and start him over VJax (even crazier for Graham or Wallace). Rivers has been looking much better and they still have an outside shot at Denver so they are going to try hard. I would hate to put much faith in a rookie receiver getting passes from Tarvaris Jackson. I'd tentatively start Rice, DWill, Graham, VJax, Wallace - then sub in Grant for DWill if Starks is declared out.

Woogie,

Graham is banged up but it sounds like he'll be able to play.

Your best options are probably to roll with Kevin Smith at RB2 and pick up D.Thomas as a hedge against Graham being hurt OR pick up Ryan Grant and roll with Graham. The Packers are going to blow out the Chiefs so there will be garbage stats for Grant to pick up in the 2nd half.

 I like your thinking.I'm definitely not dropping K. Smith. If's he playing, he's starting for me.

Another reason why it's great to have a boss that was/is a friend.

My principal comes into my room yesterday on my prep. We've known each other for 16 years and used to teach the same subject. We've have a few drinks together too.

Mr. Vernon: Hey, I've got kind of a strange request.

Me: Shoot.

Mr. Vernon: Well I decided to have a Christmas party this Friday right after school. Very low-key, very casual.

Me: Yeah, sure. No problem.

Mr. Vernon: Now here's the strange request part.

Me: I'm not playing Santa Claus.

Mr. Vernon: :lmao: No. I just really want to make sure you show up.

Me:

Mr. Vernon: I mean if I'm going to have a party at my house I want to make sure there's someone there I can talk to.

Me: Man you're gay.

Mr. Vernon: So is that a "yes"?

Me: There will be other people there besides us, right? I'm not saying "yes" until I see the email inviting everyone else too.

Mr. Vernon: :lmao: Will do. See you then. (starts to walk out)

Me: YOU BETTER BE WEARING PANTS WHEN I GET THERE!

:lmao:Nice.

it's tuesday. you guys are stressing about lineups already?
Waivers run tomorrow morning. Any reason to hold on to Forte?
I was wondering this as well. Our playoffs end week 16 and dropping him would clear out some salary cap for me.
I wouldn't see why you would hold onto him at this point.
Ye, pretty much what I was thinking. The only thing holding me back is his salary is only $51 and might make for a good keeper.

So I just opened my front door to unplug my Christmas lights, and to what should my wondering eyes did appear? A mf'in goat, and his vicious bodyguard.
wtf? :lmao:
:goodposting: I could take a similar picture any day of the week.

I live on a horse farm.

What's your deal?
I live in the suburbs, not on a horse farm.I opened my front door and the goat and the dog were standing on my front porch, just staring at me. The dog then started barking, and the goat walked right up to me, sniffed at our fake poinsettia, then turned around and walked away.

I ran in and woke up my wife, because I have freaking livestock on my porch, and then grabbed my phone/camera. When I went back out, they were still there, then on my sidewalk, and then started moving off toward the main road next to my house.

I didn't know what to do, but I didn't want them to get hit by a car, so I grabbed my car keys and went looking for them. I spotted them in the yard of a house down the street, and pulled over about 200 yards farther down the road, where there was a turning lane. As soon as I got out of the car, they both came running toward me, with the dog barking aggressively the whole time.

Still not knowing what to do, I just stood there next to my car, and whenever the goat made a move to cross the road, I shooed him back. The downside to this plan was that every time I advanced toward the goat, the dog got more pissed off. This went on for a good ten minutes. I was really hoping a cop would drive by, but no luck. I finally got to the point where I felt like the dog was becoming a serious threat, so I got back in the car, and drove down the street to where there are two gas stations, hoping that a cop would happen to be at one or the other, but no luck. Then when I went back in the direction of the animals, and my house, the animals were gone. I circled around a couple of times, but couldn't find them.

It was just so strange how they were clearly travelling together and how protective the dog was of this goat. Overall, just a bizarre experience.
so you got the mushrooms GM sent you?

First World Problem:My new shiny white iPhone now clashes with my black docking station/stereo that is on my office desk. Not sure if I can work under these conditions.
Black and white do not clash, but are the perfect compliment to one another. You do not need a new docking station, you need a sense of style and fashion.

If you hadn't included the pics I would've asked if perhaps you had some of GM's magic brownies before seeing the goat and dog. Oh and this part made me :lmao: the most:

:lmao:I have a similar relationship with one of my bosses. We're both into weird literature and have a distinctly twisted sense of humor. The #### we say to each other on FB would probably make the uptight folks in the department crap themselves and demand an exorcism.

Now, I'm not the most sophisticated man and my technical skills are limited at best, but don't some of these new cameras come with phones? Why not, you know....CALL THE POLICE? If there were a fire, would you drive around the block looking for a fireman?
