There was some detective show where a guy was pinched between the subway and platform, basicaly he was severed in half, but still alive and cognizant. Brutal episode. I could not watch more than 10 min of it. Was that Homicide? I forget.just read about that NYC elevator accident :X :X :X gotta be near the top of my list of worst ways to die...that poor woman :(
Yes, it was Homicide. Based on an episode of Taxicab Confessions on HBO, where an EMT shared the story of a time it actually happened. A Homicide writer saw it and incorporated it into an episode. Vincent D'Onofrio played the victim, pinned between the platform and the subway, who would only live as long as the subway car didn't move. Gut wrenching story, having his wife come down to say goodbye before they moved the train.PBS did a 2-hour "making of" special on that episode a year or so later. It's pretty good if you ever can catch it.There was some detective show where a guy was pinched between the subway and platform, basicaly he was severed in half, but still alive and cognizant. You guys watch the Everest documentary (something like "Dying for Everest")? The group going up literally encounters a guy sitting on the cliff sitting there literally freezing to death. His face was black with frostbite. The group then just leaves him there. In the doc they interview them all about it and each one tries to defend his or her decision. It's really really depressing.Yes, it was Homicide. Based on an episode of Taxicab Confessions on HBO, where an EMT shared the story of a time it actually happened. Same here. I've got to send out my package incomplete. It's the best part tooDamn. SS package is going to go out incomplete, as one item hasn't shipped yet and now has a delivery estimate of Dec. 24 to my house. It sort of completes the rest, so this is vexing.I'm changing the delivery to go direct to my recipient, so maybe this will get salvaged before Christmas.

I think you're also sending me a USB drive.I hope to compete my packaging and taking to the post office tonight or tomorrow. This includes the two Movember boxes of crap, gmtan ss, ffa ss, bogart's roku, -fish-'s invoice, ProNinja's books, and gm's nook. If I forgot anyone, pm me address.
Double damn. This didn't work, since there are unrelated items in the same shipment and amazon won't let me break it up.Damn. Have you been eating spicy tuna rolls and drinking red wine?About to see an advance IMAX screening of the new Mission Impossible. I've never seen an IMAX. Am I going to get sick or something?
Sit further back than normal. I usually sit about 12-15 rows back, for IMAX, 25+ is betterAbout to see an advance IMAX screening of the new Mission Impossible. I've never seen an IMAX. Am I going to get sick or something?

<_<No. Am suffering through a cold (no flu!), though, and I've heard that IMAX can be visually unsettling.Have you been eating spicy tuna rolls and drinking red wine?About to see an advance IMAX screening of the new Mission Impossible. I've never seen an IMAX. Am I going to get sick or something?

Income tax passed in 1913 I think. Prohibition wasn't until 1919.Overheard at the gym: The federal income tax was created to make up for the loss of liquor tax during the prohibition.
One of the interlocutors claimed to have been born in 1926, so he's either in the know or too far gone to remember correctly. He stood up at a 45 degree angle.
Tanner? History check? You were around then, right?
:rimshot:
Seriously, Trivaguy, is this true?

A few years ago, Cos volunteered to play "Santa" on the phone when I needed to threaten the "Santa Clause Call" with my unruly children. He would have been perfect for it, had I ever needed it. Fortunately, they've been good for the last few years, so WA LA!
