GM's thread about nothing (39 Viewers)

One of the perks of living with my ex still is that I still get lots of super fun interaction with her. Being the swell guy that I am (or sometimes can be), I still try to help her out when I can.

She was wondering if I could tap into the collective wisdom of the FFA for some advice on a vacation to anywhere in Florida she's planning with her daughter this spring (mid-march).

I appreciate any help/tips you have!

Here is the guidance she gave me...

-family oriented

-1 or 2 bdrm condo or a hotel

-beach front

-loved the keys when I went there; not sure if that's where I will end up but it's the vibe I liked

-not totally isolated...need to get out with the kid

-targeting spring break so need to stay away from kids on spring break

-if there are nice places that fit this bill closer to orlando, I would like to know about those too.

TIA

Having coffee tonight with an old friend.

Have not talked to him in over 9 months, so he knows nothing of marriage councelling, divorce, lung cancer, drug overdose, hernia surgery/getting snipped. Should be a good time. I may have to live post his reactions.

I'd suggest the St. Petersburg/Tampa area. There's plenty of kid friendly things to do, safe beaches, and it's not as crazy/hectic as say Miami/Fort Lauderdale. There are plenty of nicer smaller areas but I don't know they would get bored with activities/things to do.

Just had an ear lavage done. What emerged from my left ear was a ball of wax approximately the size of a large blueberry or small grape. I am thankful for the ability to hear once again.

My 20 mile commute into work this morning was a little different with the snow. Got a cool picture though
 wow...you really go 20 miles each day? you bring out a different bike/tires for the snow??
20 miles each way. And I often get rides from the wife the last half of the commute home beacuse I'm fat and lazy. And yeah, I've got big fat studded tires on there now. Totally worth it for the looks you get on the snow days.

Just talked to the boss for a couple hours. The firm is broke. Any changes to resume writing in the last fivish years

Oh, one little detail that I keep forget to update is that apparently this girl was on a date when I met her and made out with her that first day. Slap it high!

Don't think I knew this. When did you get separated? How long are you planning on living together?

Today is a "floating holiday" at work. Anyone could take the day off if they want to. But if you show up and work, you can take any other day this year off as a holiday. Since our crews are working, everyone in my department showed up, except for a few assistants.

There was no traffic in LA today. None of the executives are here. My boss didn't show up til 11:00. He took one look at the empty parking lot and said "Eh, if nothing's going on today, why don't we all leave early?" So now I get to goof around all day, and get an extra day off later on. My project for today is to call our vendors and see if they have extra box seats for the Lakers game tonight.

One of my top 10 5 days of all time was the first time I had both of my ears lavaged during my freshman year at college. I could hear things I had never heard before, headaches were gone, felt like I had a 50 lb weight pulled out of my skull. I could hear the grass under my shoes, birds 3 towns over and the gentle breeze sounded like an orchestra. And yeah, there was so much wax flushed out of my ears, it literally scared me a bit.

Waiting to hear the verdict on hundreds of alternative CDs I am trying to sell to a used store. Might try to sell them all at a garage sale instead....hmmm
I can't imagine you'll get much if anything for them.
My advice? Hold on to them for ten years when digital takes over completely and CDs become the new vinyl. Then our children when be the new 20something hipsters and they'll buy them off you for a mint. Wait. Crap. Hipters don't have money. They just live frugally and sponge off their parents. Which means that even though your CDs will be worth a mint, you'll have to buy them yourself.Nevermind. Sell them now for a nickel and some bubblegum.

This would be the ex-gf. The ex-wife incident was 4 years ago :bag:The ex-gf and I split at the end of October and it took her a couple months to find a new place (I'm staying in the apartment we had together). Feb 4th is independence day!

What in the hell is that?
A nurse fills a super-soaker with a water and hydrogen peroxide solution and sprays the #### out of your ear canal. Literally.
and then crap just falls out, or is there some sort of suction/scrapping that is done. do you go to a family doctor for this, or to an ENT specialist?

How painful is it? I'm thinking of asking my doc about this.

There is this canteen shaped basin with a hole for the ear that all of the excess water and runoff falls into. The crap just falls into there. My family doctor was able to do this. I was miserable yesterday. Today I can hear again.

It is only moderately painful during the spray process. But the end result is glorious.

It is not painful at all. It really is the greatest feeling in the world.

Does that mean you didn't invest your life savings in it? I stopped following that thread.
I didn't. Seemed to be too risky and the boss never gave me an actual figure after his accountant told him he was shorting himself. We settled on me taking a paycut. It's been crazy though. After doing about an average of 42k in business per month we have done 2500 in the last 40 days. Money is just gone.

Pretty much sitting here in shock. Oddly calm about it, but certainly have little to no drive to work right now.

$48.50 for about 50 or so. 700+ to go.
with the books/cases, or just the CD? Also, is this a used CD store, or what?
Used CD store. Jewel box, book, and CD.

You should come back tomorrow and shoot up/firebomb the place.

New Smyrna Beach would be a solid choice.
