GM's thread about nothing (41 Viewers)

had a racist truck driver come into my office today. co-worker- "hey trucker guy, would you like some apple juice?"trucker guy- "are N-words stupid and lazy?"
I don't know about stupid and lazy, but I've always thought the word Nevermore was a bit pompous and arrogant.

I have five Big 12 teams in the Sweet 16. Do I have a brain tumor?

Had oral surgery this morning, and I anticipate being hopped up on goofballs all day.

Here's why Facebook annoys the crap out of me.Guster sends me a PM asking to join Beanbag's awesome NCAA Bracket Challenge. He does not leave me his email address to forward the email from Dave. No problem, I think. I can just pull it off of Facebook under "Info"! So I go to Facebook, look up Guster and what do you, Guster has changed his Facebook site has been updated to the fancy new Timeline design, which I freaking hate. Okay, no problem, I'll just go to "info" and find his email. There is no "Info". There is no email address for Guster. Real cool upgrade. Guster, PM me your email address. Anybody else want in? Dave does a great job keeping everybody updated.
Pretty sure my contact info should be saved under "favorites" on your phone.HTHOh, and it helps if you attach the file

My card-counting software proved that I wasn't all there, but stubbornness made me count down three decks in a row before I quit. Took a while. Then I stared at CNBC like Hock Meng Tay until I drifted off for a while. Just popped a couple of maintenance Vikes.

Homer. ;) I saw Mayor Wharton's bracket posted on Facebook yesterday and thought for shtick I'd just use his bracket in my various pools. Then looked and, of course, he has Memphis winning it all.
:lmao: Now that's being a homer, but then again what are you supposed to do when you're the mayor.
Yeah, I suppose he has no choice, especially considering how crazy these townfolk are about their Tigers.

Your page will have the new timeline on it whether you like it or not on March 31st. :)

Just ran the test again and counted down the decks in 25, 24, and 25 seconds. Good to go.
Still no clue what you're talking about.

If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding! How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?!

I have software that teaches one to count cards at blackjack. I wasn't up to my normal standards immediately after oral surgery (Versed--ask for it by name). Now the fog has mostly cleared.

You play blackjack for a living?

Nope, just a challenge. There's the science of doing it, and the art of getting away with it. And I want to stress that my sample size is still quite small, and I can't prove jack squat at this point.

So you're an ineffective scientist who hopes to become an artist? With your hair, I'm sure you'll have no trouble making that transition.

Watch '21', people. You'll learn in the first 45 minutes what Kev's talking about.
:lmao: You think Rude and I don't know what card counting is?
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I'm more confused why the guy who has never been to Vegas keeps talking about card counting software without ever first explaining that he was learning to count cards or something. That whole tangent has been going on for awhile and seems to assume we all know what is going on there.

Oh, I've been to Vegas before. Just not in the last 2.5 years, so I'm kinda pumped. Sorry for the confusion.

Just play craps. You'll have a lot more fun. Why stress your brain during a vacation?

Shuke, I have Long Beach State going to the Sweet 16 in one of mine as well. :hifive:
Heard some dude going on and on about them yesterday on the radio, so I pegged that as my upset special. Also heard someone (Doug Gottlieb?) talking about Vandy getting bounced in the first round when they're a 4 or 5 seed so am considering avoiding them. These ghostly recollections are all I have to go on this year. :(
Vandy has lost in the first round as a 4 or 5 seed their past three appearances. They are a horrible tournament team.

Where are the Wisconsin homers? How good are they? I have Kansas St. beating Cuse, which means either Wisconsin or Vandy is going to the elite 8 for me. I really want to take Harvard over Vandy. So please confirm I won't be blowing my bracket by taking the Badgers to Elite 8.

I have them in the Final Four in one bracket. But then again, I don't know anything about Vegas either.

:hey: I posted this in the "Tell us about your team" thread

Wisconsin Badgers 24-9 / 12-6

Pick any tournament preview of Bucky from the past 10 years and insert it here as nothing much has changed. Typical Bo Ryan team with solid man-to-man defense. Will grind it out on offense for 32 seconds before even thinking of putting up a shot. They don't really have a dynamic player (i.e. Alando Tucker/Jon Leuer type). Jordan Taylor is a solid PG who is their only real threat to go off 20+ points. Josh Gasser always seems to want to pass the ball to someone else like he's playing hot potato but does shoot around 45% from behind the arc. Jarred Berggren is a goofly looking big guy that can step out and hit a 3. He shouldn't scare anyone inside the paint however. Ryan Evans has some spark but is too inconsistent. Mike Bruesewitz can't hit the broad side of a barn but will hustle and claw for rebounds and loose balls.

They're prone to long stretches of ineptitude on offense. They seem to cling to the old mantra of "live by the 3, die by the 3". If they're cold it will be a long day for them. The running joke around here today for the Montana game is that the "first team to hit 40 wins"
They can play with anyone in the country. A road win at Ohio State and a 3 pt loss at UNC showed that. But getting swept by Iowa showed their dark side. It really depends if they're dictating tempo, hitting their 3s and getting to the line. I have them in Elite 8 one time, Sweet 16 three times and Round 2 one time. They will not lose to Montana.

Harvard can out-Wisconsin this team and win 42-38

I don't like Wisconsin at all.
