you know, I'm pretty conservative by nature, but can someone let me know when bat #### crazy moved into Arizona?

I was considering Phoenix as a possible retirement spot - but nfw am I ever moving to that state.

There are more than a few certifiable folks there.

Anybody know stuff about Florida? Specifically getting me a job there?
where in florida? what do you do?
I don't really know. I think we're looking in the Orlando/Kissimmee area ideally and working out from there. I'm currently a Category Manager and have done that for four years, and have working in the CPG and/or retail entertainment industry for about 13 years.
You have the fevor too, huh?I would think Disney or one of the other parks would be the first places to start sniffing around. Also, if you're going to be that far south, you might as well look into the Tampa area, but don't go Scientologist on us if you do move there. You can probably also catch a bigger fish than a pinfish.

Met up with Miss, her boss and his wife for some patio drinks yesterday. After about an hour, we noticed a rather large woman becoming visibly upset with the only male member of her group. It wasn't long until we realized they were an item as she yelled out that her "(fun part) was on strike, her (fun part) is protesting." Around this time, we had friends join us and they had to walk right by their table to get to ours. They commented that something was going on as she was really giving this guy hell.

Since I have the bladder of a pregnant woman when I drink, I used this opportunity to excuse myself and head to the potty...and walk right by this table. It was obvious there was some solid drinking going on here, beer jugs and shot glasses on the table, so it was only a matter of time until the real fireworks started. Related, I noticed this classy woman had a tattoo on her upper chest of some sort of bird. When I say noticed, I mean her top was at the edge of the cliff and about to take the same downward plunge this once proud bird took. After years of sagging and lots of sad, this bird looked depressed. I think it used to be an eagle but now it looked more like Beaky Buzzard.

Anyway, a short time after I came back outside, our heroine decided this was her time to up the volume. "Blah blah blah, my (not so sure it's a fun part) is protesting! My (yeah, no way it's a fun part) is protesting!" More yammer from her then she quickly ran inside. A stunned silence swept the patio and we all sort of looked at each other and shrugged.

Once again, I excused myself to go inside as I really do piss a lot when I drink. As I stepped out of the men's room, I saw Beaky's caretaker coming out...and wiping her mouth. Oh I know what she did in there, yuck. She was lumbering and mumbling to herself so I took this as my opportunity to help her. Please note that sometimes I get my words mixed up and I may have made a small error when I offered to help the situation. Also, keep in mind this woman was hammered at this point and couldn't pick me out of a lineup of two people, a paperclip and a hot dog cart. I mentioned to this angel that I overheard what she was saying (the next area code overheard what she was yelling) and I think she was using the wrong word when she said "protesting." I told her that I believe her (man trap part) couldn't actually protest since it was inanimate (I'm sure it was actually dead) and she should use a word that indicated his time down there had expired...or lapsed. She listened as best she could and thanked me before she turned to go back to the patio...

"My (I'm sure it's dead part) is prolapsing!"

...dear god, she actually said it.

"You did this to me and my (poor thing never had a chance part) is prolapsing now!"

What was a stunned silence before was now wide-eyed people choking on their stifled laughs. Well, all but Miss. She choked on her drink when she first heard it but I felt her glare immediately after. She knew it was me. I slipped around the other way to my seat so I could see the rest of the show. Unfortunately, the bar staff deemed our princess was drunk (durrr) and asked her to leave before the main event started. In a surprising move, she agreed, paid up and left without incident. Once she was down the street (people were actually watching to make sure she was out of earshot) the whole place broke into laughter and talked about what they saw/heard. It was fun.

lose the first round of the NCAA or win the NIT?
Win the NIT. Lets be honest, it's like playing in the Bob and Erving's Pancake House Bowl.If you're losing in the round of 64 you're not that good (Oh, hello Duke). So you're playing against your kind of competition and it gives your fanbase a rooting interest. Even if no one else in the world cares.
Wrong answer. Signed,Gopher fan.Edit: Wait, after re-reading I'm not sure what you're saying, but the answer is losing in the first round>>>>nit

Yep. I've always wanted to live near the ocean and my wife's always wanted to live near the beach, but we never did it. After spending a week there with the kids we're seriously considering it, at least to the point where we're looking into jobs and housing and what not. And I'm pretty sure those were pretty big pinfish.

Plus, think of all of the old people you could befriend. It would be like Tannerpalooza.

California >>>> Florida

Heading into the city to see The Raid again. We saw this at TIFF but it's been Americained and renamed The Raid: Redemption. This might be the best action movie ever made and I suggest you see this in a theatre if you get the chance. It's an adrenaline rush with total brutality but it is beautifully shot and some fight scenes will blow your mind.

We'll also be having dinner with her new boss and his wife again. Miss has been a lot happier since she quit her old job and started working for this new group a few weeks ago. She went from an office version of Mean Girls with all the drama queens to a relaxed atmosphere where people get along and work well together.

Frosty, thank you for the Linkedn friend request, if I ever figure out what Linkedn does exactly, I'm sure this will be very valuable.

Also, can somebody please explain to me how a movie about children murdering each other so they can have the privilege of eating gets a PG13 rating?

TIA

All I know is that I wish I had thought of it first.

A snuff film would be PG-13 if it didn't show any boobs.

Tampa has the Bucs, Lightning, and Rays plus pretty good college teams at USF and proximity to the ocean/beaches. They also have Busch Gardens.

Orlando has the Magic and Disney. What else?

I don't think that Florida offers either meat raffles or kittenball.
So two more positive things about FLA.
My wife wants to take the boys to Walt Disney town but I'm not sure if we should take our carriage or the auto gyro.
I would suggest coming to Disneyland but there is a crapload more stuff in Orlando.
My dad told me Disneyland burned down
It did. You don't need to come out to CA for anything.

I think you were on hiatus when I posted before that Romo and I are possibly roadtripping to SF for a friend's wedding. The route I've pulled up has us going directly through Oildale. :coffee:

I only mentioned Orlando because we have family that lives there. I don't know how far it is from the ocean. I'm not ruling out any area of Florida or focusing on any area. To be honest this probably won't end up happening anyway. I'd miss the meat raffles too much.

:lmao: Actually that would be a longer route than necessary...if you're coming from LA.

that's coolI just thought it was strange that you mentioned wanting to be near the beach/ocean and were using Orlando as your starting point. It's still a pretty short drive away so not too bad.http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_far_is_Orlando_Florida_from_the_ocean
