Damn, that's going to be one hell of a drive, Tanner. Not that you didn't know that already, but man...I can only imagine the conversations you will enjoy with your wife.

I'd love to get down there, so keep me posted on when/where. Have you booked accomodations yet? If not, I can lend some insight there. Your kids are a little older, but there are new pools/lazy rivers down there that are a lot of fun. When you look for rental houses, look for ones that have access to Mavericks or include passes to some of the pools in the area. They have a giant wave pool where you can work on your surfing. There's some cool lava fields and lava caves to check out, as well as fly fishing, golf, river rafting, drinking and you could probably spend a day up on Mt. Bachelor if you wanted. Hell, you might even be able to ski up there. There's a little rinky dinky Sun River square, which has restaurants, bars, shops, etc. Pretty touristy, but the beers are cold and flowing. Bend is about 15-20 minutes away and is a VERY cool city. Has grown quite a bit over the years. I think you'd really like Bend and I would highly suggest checking out the Deschutes River for a rafting trip with your sons. You can do an all day trip for about $75 and they'll cook you steaks/chicken on the grill for lunch. Well worth the money and the scenery is spectacular (both the geography and the hot, fit chicks in bikinis). Bend also is home of the Deschutes Brewery, which is worth checking out.
