GM's thread about nothing (34 Viewers)

Damn, that's going to be one hell of a drive, Tanner. Not that you didn't know that already, but man...I can only imagine the conversations you will enjoy with your wife. :lmao:

I'd love to get down there, so keep me posted on when/where. Have you booked accomodations yet? If not, I can lend some insight there. Your kids are a little older, but there are new pools/lazy rivers down there that are a lot of fun. When you look for rental houses, look for ones that have access to Mavericks or include passes to some of the pools in the area. They have a giant wave pool where you can work on your surfing.

There's some cool lava fields and lava caves to check out, as well as fly fishing, golf, river rafting, drinking and you could probably spend a day up on Mt. Bachelor if you wanted. Hell, you might even be able to ski up there.

There's a little rinky dinky Sun River square, which has restaurants, bars, shops, etc. Pretty touristy, but the beers are cold and flowing. Bend is about 15-20 minutes away and is a VERY cool city. Has grown quite a bit over the years. I think you'd really like Bend and I would highly suggest checking out the Deschutes River for a rafting trip with your sons. You can do an all day trip for about $75 and they'll cook you steaks/chicken on the grill for lunch. Well worth the money and the scenery is spectacular (both the geography and the hot, fit chicks in bikinis). Bend also is home of the Deschutes Brewery, which is worth checking out.

More chuckle hut for the Bobs..

My wife was screaming at me: "Leave!! Get out of this house!" she ordered.

As I was walking out the door she yelled, "I hope you die a slow and painful death!"

So I turned around and replied "So now you want me to stay?"

You had me at "Brewery" even though it was at the end of your post.Since this is a giant family reunion thing we've got different people working on different things. My brother and one of my cousins is working on the housing. The last thing I heard is that my mom is footing the bill for some jumbo house for me and brothers/sister and our families. I don't have to do a damn thing except show up and stay white. We also have other family members working on "activities". I'm sure there will be some rafting involved. Once again I'm just going to show up and do what I'm told. I think we're going to break up the drive by staying one night somewhere in northern Calif or southern Oregon. Not sure if we're going to do it on the way up or way back or both. I'll probably have to see how much time my wife gets off from her job.The downside to this whole trip is that we're only staying in Sunriver for 3 nights. It sounds like long trip for such a short stay but part of my family lives in Washington. For the last 20 years we've made them come down to California for the reunion. Holding it in Oregon is payback I guess.

You won't have any problems finding a Jumbo House for a 3 night rental. They are all over and you can probably find a smoking good deal if you start looking now. Again, glut of housing build is a renter's paradise. Just pass along the tip on the passes/access to Mavericks. It'll be in the rental descriptions and well worth. A day pass is $25 per person, so getting that with the rental package is the shark move.

Side note: Apparently this former chemist is now getting acting(?) work in roles such as "yoga mom" in In Plain Sight, "show girl #4" in Vegas (new Quaid/Chiklis tv drama), and "Palin staffer" in Game Changer.

Surprised by this, as she kinda has a face for radio. I suppose she looks pretty hot when out of focus in the background though.

Also, I'm an #######.

Yoga Mom
The obnoxious gene is strong in this one.
 She's not even a real mom. Acting! :lovitz:
Oh my.

So my daughter is going to soccer camp this sunday. 8 girls on her team are going, 4 to a suite. Roommate assignments were made in april. Just got my daughters and she is odd person out as they squeezed in another girl and never told us. So my daughter is rooming with strangers. I'm trying to prevent my wife from shedding soccer mom blood.

This would drive me insane. 9th girl in gets re-assigned.

For the Bobs....

My wife has been missing a week now.

The police said to prepare for the worst.

So, I had to go down to Goodwill to get all of her clothes back
That's awful, and I'm not sure why you think I would find it amusing. That poor husband had to go clothes shopping.

For Homer...

Went to the pub with my girlfriend last night.

Locals were shouting, "pedophile" and other names at me, just because my girlfriend is 21 and I'm 50.

It completely spoiled our 10th anniversary.
That's so wrong. :lmao:  :lmao:

Thank God for hotel bathrooms.
Best option in the world for road trip deuces....hotel bathrooms in the loby are always clean, rarely occupied and nobody ever questions you if you go in with the paper like you're a guest.
When I left the front desk clerk exclaimed "Hi how are you today!" :lmao:
About 5 pounds lighter.
"I'm great! How are you!"

Do you hire people with degrees in chemical engineering and 11+ years on experience in consumer research??
LET'S TALK CHEMICAL ENGINEERING!Seriously. How many chemical engineers do we have here? You, me, Pickles... any others?Edit: And by chemical engineers, I mean people with a BS in chemical engineering. Sounds like you use your degree about as much as I do.
:bowtie:Today I put the full power of a Rose-Hulman education towards resetting the name on a voice mailbox that had the high school staff stumped for a full year. I did have to make a snap decision on which artificial sweetener to use in my iced tea at lunch though.

Going to a 3 day music festival in town and managed to get my ex-wife to cover for almost all of the weekend  to her

So...I'll likely spend virtually every moment of the next 3+ days drunk :banned: :banned: :banned:

One interesting thing is that pretty much every girl that I've dated over the past 6 months is going to be there too and several have mentioned hoping to bump into me.

Sorry to hear about all your imminent drunken sexual encounters with attractive chicks at a rock festival while the rest of us not named Tanner are working for a living, bro.

Some band called Clutch is playing at House of Blues across from my hotel in NO this week. I listened to two tracks on Youtube and I liked one and the other was meh. Anyone familiar with them?

Nope, but I hope you drink Sazeracs until you slosh a little when you walk.

WOW FACEBOOK FRIENDS, THOSE INSTAGRAM FILTERS ARE REALLY COOL.
Back when the "retro" or "instamatic" filter was first introduced I thought it was pretty cool...but only if the photo was good. Now it is like "it doesn't matter what filter you use...you're still taking a picture of your freaking dessert".

Is that what's going on with Facebook photos? The ones where all the pictures look like they were shot in an 1875 Saloon with sepia tones or whatever it is? That's horrible. I just thought everybody was screwing up their camera settings. That's awful

It's astounding. Some guy actually made money off hipsters.

What the hell is going on in the "My fitness app" thread??

I browsed through there and thought I was on the Jenny Craig site for a minute.
