Appearing smart isn't the issue, though. You want her to be pretty. You might even want her to be smart (ymmv). You probably want her to appear to others to be pretty and smart. But you don't want her to think she's pretty and smart. That's a recipe for disaster.It's hard to appear smart with a bone up your bum. May be a little late getting out there.. The girlfriend works a bit late and it looks like it's a 6PM start instead of 7PM.. Although maybe I'll just go without her and avoid introducing her to a bunch of middle aged men from the internet.

Went to see the ortho today for my two-week post-surgery follow-up. Spent the last two weeks in a recliner with my right leg in a knee brace fixed straight. I have at least two more weeks of this before they gradually open the brace up. Doctor took staples out and gave me some moderate exercises to do. Things looked good but still a long way to go.
On the bright side, friends have made it perfectly clear that there is no way I am missing the league fantasy draft this weekend. A co-worker is coming by to trundle me off in their van and the host has assured me he is saving a La-Z-Boy with my name on it. It'll be my first non-medical trip out of the house since being diagnosed 8/3.

I just figured out where "Shrimp on the Barbie" comes from. I always knew it was an Australian phrase for grilled shrimp, but I assumed it was random Australian slang like loo in England that didn't necessarily make sense.

"shuked" now has 2 meanings. Obviously there is the original meaning that we've been used to. But I discovered a new meaning and new way to use it. While doing my weekly stroll through pics of GMTAN family members on the FaceBook, I enjoyed Bentley's pics of his kid's 1st birthday party. As I looked at one of the pictures of the child and the remnants of his birthday cupcake, without thinking about it, I said to myself "my god, that kid really shuked that cupcake". You may need to look at the picture to fully understand. Anyways, I'm just looking for some credit for this. Thanks
