Shuke - Are you done with Austin? I miss you.
Haven't traveled much lately because I was in a walking boot. Camping this weekend totally reversed any good that did for me, though.I'll be down once before Thanksgiving and then probably once between then and Christmas.

Do they make Running boots? Jumping boots? Skipping boots? Are there other kinds of boots besides 'walking'?
You should see the kinesio tape on my heel. Looks like a hieroglyph that translates as 'fat old gimp'.

Speaking of camping...God was last night horrible. This was a cub scout thing. We went to our local scouting place, pretty nice, about a 500 acre facility owned by local scouting. Despite rain yesterday, we had a good time yesterday. We were well prepared for the upper 30's temps last night.

What I wasn't prepared for was waking up at about 1:30 AM and hearing my son choking and coughing and lying in a pool of his vomit. After a few moments I was able to wake him all the way up. I was totally horrified and it was heartbreaking to see him shivering with vomit all over his face. I got him cleaned up as best I could (closest bathroom with running water was probably a half mile away) and threw his sleeping bag and pillow out of the tent. That left us having to share what we had left. But after about 10 minutes he started complaining of piercing gut pain, followed by more puking. I was concerned about the pain portion. I woke up one of the guys in charge and he offered to make the trek to get his car back there, but we had to contact the park ranger to lift the gate.

So I get Zach by the fire to warm him up, and he starts wailing in pain buckling over again and this leads to more vomiting. So I called 911, but there was no way an ambulance was going to find us so I told them we'd meet them up at the parking lot. We finally get up there, get to the hospital, after some tests just ruled food poisoning or virus, thankfully. They gave him fluids and anti-nausea meds and kept him there until he was able to keep some water down. Of course he had to throw up again after being in the cab for 10 minutes on the way back to our car.

Oh, and right before we were getting discharged at about 5:30 he was upset we weren't going back to the campsite. What a trooper.

I'm sure as a sports fan you're familiar with the term and this is just more of your shtick, but in case it isn't.

Nice pooch punt by Big Ben.
If the play stands, that's a nice back door into Maualuga o7.5 tackles
How much did you clear today? You must have just nailed the books.Pitt winning this one will cap a huge day/weekend for me, starting with the Ducks game Thurs. Another cash out coming from SB.
A touch under 2500 :excited: Never withdrawn from SB, anything I need to know other than following the steps on the site?

lol...I teased Bengals +7 w/ OVER 40.5....so glad that guy got tackled before going in there! Wow, what a day for you. I made about half that.Assuming they have your info on the site - including your current address - they'll just Fed Ex you a check from something called "Magnum Corp" or some such. They say it can take 6-8 weeks, but I got my last one in about 3.

This has to be asked?

Jesus, Shuke. That sucks. Sorry to hear it. No wonder you have been so mean to me.
Thanks man. He's doing better today, but had to miss his last baseball game of the season. Just glad it wasn't anything more serious, although I already feel the effects on my paranoia. I heard him coughing a little bit ago and ran into his room. Plus I don't know how comfortable I'll be doing anything more than "car camping" with the kids until they're older. Or were you talking about the boot?

Is my hate for local news well documented in here? And by local I don't just mean where I currently live, but everywhere I've ever been. Why do I watch it.

We're now maybe 10 minutes into our late-airing (due to the game) local broadcast and all they've "reported" on is stuff about the game. Reports on tailgating, post-game traffic, etc. You know, stuff that happens every home game.

Not much about the actual game, but acting like we hosted the super bowl here because the Bengals played in prime time.

Portland news is comical. They report 'live' at the scene several hours after whatever they are reporting on has happened. "We go now live to Jack Mehoff, who is standing outside the courthouse where earlier today the verdict was read, Jack?" We have two weather segments because we don't have enough sports teams to have a long sports segment. And got help us when it snows. Or even when a threat of snow is coming. It's continuous coverage.

I generally agree, but I did just see a pretty cool segment on the local news with Mario Andretti driving a F1 car around our brand new racetrack (the arrogantly-named "Circuit of the Americas") at the ribbon cutting today. And, now we're going to have the marginally attractive weekend weather girl talk about how we need rain. It was a good run.

"News" from earlier today. Wait for the revealing of cornhole drink holder, which seems to be the greatest invention ever. :lmao:
"It's a marathon, not a sprint" should be added to phrases that need to be retired.
I don't even understand the context when you are talking about an NFL season.
Yeah, the NFL season is pretty much a sprint, if you're inclined to running analogies.I think the translation is "it's okay if we lose."

I was just chatting with the admin in our group. She was telling me how her husband had dreamed of having a boat all his life and finally got one this spring and he's taking it out on the Ohio today one last time for the season. Turns out, it's a Bryant boat. Small world!

Last night my son confessed to having found some of his Christmas gifts.

S: Mom, I think I found some of my gifts.

W: What did you see?

S: Well I was in your closet, and I accidentally saw a Blackhawks sweatshirt and a winter hat.

W: Anything else?

S: Well there was a bag with some vibrating rubber things in it but I'm not sure what they were.

W:  ok run along..

bobsandwich

Oh these two..... <_<

ETA, isn't the best bobsandwich ever. That would have been after a GB's wedding when they were playing a game of double chicken where the goal was to rub on me the most seductively without Mrs. SLB clobbering them. It was neat.
