Why did she pay $5000 if you listed it for $4900?
Bidding war. Fabricated or otherwise.Blazing Five

Dolphins at Colts (+2.5)

Buccaneers (+1.5) at Raiders

Vikings at Seahawks (-4)

Steelers (+3.5) at Giants

Cowboys (+4) at Falcons
:coffee:
Like all of these except the Vikings.
Me too. I'm in this "pick 5" weekly bet thing and I used these this week. Except I accidentally picked Minnesota. I think I'm going to change it though. Seattle is tough at home.

Going after rockfish(striped bass to the rest of the country) on the Chesapeake tomorrow. Weather for the 6 a.m. launch? Cold as a witch's ### - 39 degrees and winds NNW18mph.

Shorts weather.
20 years ago, I would've. Now, my pasty legs turn purple just thinking about it. Looking forward to it, though. A good friend got the charter as a 5oth birthday and our group gets together far too rarely these days.

Pretty sure they sell fish at the store, Ahab.
"Call me Idiot".......
I wouldn't say that. Although I'm pretty sure I'd stay home and curl up with a nice Filet O' Fish.
Considering my luck fishing, that may be the only fish I get tomorrow. But it's not even about catching anything. We all grew up on the Bay and it'll be nice to get back out there again (been 5 or 6 years for me). I say that now, of course, before the cold has my balls at lung-level.

Let's talk alternatives to the mini-van then, shall we?

NEEDS

- Used car, 3 years old or older

- Ideally less than $20,000

- Suitable for a family of 5 or more

- Must be somewhat fuel efficient and by that, I mean NOT a Dodge Durango or a Yukon - those things are brutal on gas

- Tough enough to take up and over the mountains with storage to hold our camping gear

I think I'm destined to buy a used minivan, but perhaps not. I am not the world's greatest car buyer, but I have always bought used cars and drive them for several years. I will never consider a lease and I will never buy brand new.
?
Dog.

I listed my wife's car on Craigslist last week for $4,900 and sold it within 24 hours for $5,000 to a gal in Southern Utah who has been looking for this specific car, but found no inventory for it where she lives (out in the sticks, I guess). She financed the purchase through a credit union, so it took about a week for her to get everything squared away. From what I understand, Obama's Cash for Clunkers program stripped out a LOT of the used car inventory that was floating around, so for the first time car buyers (which this gal is, fresh out of college) the pickings for reliable used cars under $5,000 is slim.

Anyhow, YEAH OBAMA!!! :nonpoliticaltangent:

Also, I couldn't help but facebook stalk the new buyer.

Wife is pretty bummed to sell her car. She bought it when she graduated from college and it served her very well. But we need a little something bigger and since I am pot committed to riding my bike to and from work this winter, we don't need two cars sitting in our garage.

Anyhow, coming soon, my MINI VAN THREAD!!!! :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited:
what did you sell?
Pontiac Vibe 2004 - 108K miles. Decentish condition. Supposedly, this is the exact same car as the Toyota Matrix or some such. High demand for young females as I had about 7 of them contact me for this car. Bogart note: Fake sell a Pontiac Vibe on CL. I bet you can score gobs of panties that way.

1. I drove a minivan in highschool....that thing was like a tank...it was awesome, but don't think I ever want to drive one again

2. All this minivan talk is making me consider getting snipped

3. Taking a bus up to the LSU/Bama game tomorrow... :banned: Can't. Freaking. Wait.
If the twins didn't do that, I don't think it's in your future, GB. I'm seriously hoping this bike neuters me. Proninja, is that a real fact?

Boys are off school today, I hear this conversation around 6am.

Dylan: (knocks on bathroom door) You going pee or poop in there?

Cal: Poop

Dylan: When I poop there's a lot. ROAR!!!!(makes sound like a dinosaur)

Cal: What?!

Dylan: I'm full of poop. A lot comes out of my butt. ROAR!!! (makes sound like a dinosaur again)

Cal: Leave me alone.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

LOL.. No hockey right now, so Vancouver is less attractive.Sell me on Portland. What's there?
Minor league hockey games can be a lot of fun because we can get seats right on the glass for next to nothing. They host Seattle on Dec. 15th and Portland hates Seattle (for good reason, bunch of sissynecks up there). We can probably find some poker to play, cigars to smoke, spirits to ingest and trouble to get into. You can stay with us or you can probably priceline a 4-star hotel downtown for a song. Cosjobs stayed at the Benson Hotel for a steal of a deal. He had a great room with a nice view of downtown and it was centrally located, so he could amble about here or there. We have a little baby at home, so if you can get your business to comp you a room, you might want to enjoy the peace and quiet since you'll be away from your little ones that week. But our house is always open to you of course.Downtown Portland is much easier to get around than Seattle, imo. It is a much more walkable city with so much variety in food and bars close by. I once stayed next to Safeco Field in Seattle with my boys and my dad and we wanted to walk to a restaurant that would serve breakfast. Seems relatively simple, right? Wrong. We found a few bars that had breakfast, but wouldn't let minors in. We ended up having to eat at Starbucks. You won't have that problem in Portland. I also think you'll get a huge kick out of the Food Cart scene down here. The variety is incredible and I think you might enjoy sampling different things.Pause here.
Yeah, doing Portland for sure. I've been to Seattle more times than I care to remember, and a change of scenery over the weekend is very welcome. I really appreciate the lodging offer, but Microsoft is paying for all my T&E, and with a small kid at home you have enough to deal with. Sounds like downtown Portland is the best option. I'll be renting a car and making the drive down on Friday afternoon/evening. I have no idea how long it would take, but guessing 3.5 hours (Bing Maps is saying 2.45)? Since I'll be leaving Seattle/Bellevue around 5-ish and hitting rush hour traffic I'm guessing I won't make Portland until 9 - 10-ish.Hockey on Saturday sounds good too, but I'm pretty open to do most things, as long as they involve drinking, gambling, eating and getting into trouble...
Boy, if you can somehow leave earlier than 5, it would be to your benefit. Seattle traffic is brutal and it goes on forever. Once you think you are through it, OOPS, Tacoma. OOOPS, Olympia. And so forth. It's only 180 miles, but leaving 5pm on a Friday will put you in a horrendous mood. Bring a roadie. :unsure:Yeah, stay downtown. If you need lodging options, let me know. There's some historic hotels downtown that I really like a lot and then there are some new, trendy boutique hotels that are also very cool. Something you MIGHT look into is the Marriott overlooking the Willamette River. If you call them, ask if you can get a room with a view. Might be cool to sleep in and get a window full of storm. On the flip side, if we get a sunny day, you'll have a terrific view of Mt. Hood, but there is a 10% chance of that happening. I can be available both nights and will shop for tickets to the Winterhawks game for Sat. I'll just take the light rail into town and meet you. That way we can get rip roaring drunk and get into trouble without getting into trouble. :excited:  :banned:

Realistically, you'd have to spend a lot more time on your bike to do any permanent damage. I came back from a 3ish hour ride once, my wife felt like being nice to me, and it was *ahem* difficult. I bought a better saddle, no issues at all after that. As long as your #### doesn't go numb, you should be totally ok.

Congrats fish on getting fed.So I have been thinking for a week about how to break up with Sushi Girl. It was fun, but lots of yellow flags. Things that I will never be able to look past in a relationship. Decided to do it tomorrow when I go over and see her. She deserves more than a text breakup. Today, she texts me that she wants to discuss "important things" when I come over, not just hang out. So either we are on the same page, or in two totally different books. Most likely two different books, which is going to make things EPIC.
Dude, don't go over. You're going to get sucked up in her tractor beam. Just call her and say "Let's save each other the time and emotional effort and just part ways now. It was fun, best of luck to you out there."
So did the break up last night, and then again this morning. Brutal. Tried to be as nice as possible, but I guess the quickest way is to just be a total #######.
You'll grow into it. I once broke up with a girl by not returning any calls or emails. Just...silence. I don't recommend that approach. Especially if you happen to run into her again in the future.

I once broke up with a girl in HS by walking up to her, in front of all her girlfriends, and saying "You know what you and the Phoenicians have in common?.....you're both History." And then I walked off.OK, that really didn't happen but I think I could have pulled something like that off.

Sure. What's your schedule look like? I need a last minute partner for a beer pong tournament if you have the inclination to get really drunk with a bunch of 20 somethings around noon tomorrow. Other than that I don't have any definitive plans and should be available.
