A solemn promise that you will never give her relationship advice...ever.What should I give my niece who is about to turn 1? She's the first baby of this generation for either family so she'll be spoiled rotten with "things". She's also only 1 so not like she'll remember if I get her a super cool toy or take her somewhere awesome. Kind of stumped here. Help.

Gay Krzyzewski would be a great name for a tumor.I feel kinda bad, given that Dean has dementia. My next two were Calhoun and Rudy Gay.

Racistserious question - are SLB and T.R.E. related?

I would give you a big inappropriate hug if I could. :(I was just with my boss. Told him very sincerely that if it weren't for him, I'd walk out the door today. Truly I know that I would (haven't lobbed in the call to Mr. krista about that yet, but I know he'd be supportive). I just can't screw people over like that, though. Well, some of them I would do it to gladly, but not my boss and not my team.Feel like I'm about to burst into tears at any moment, and I'm not a burst into tears type.

Semi-Official Uruk-Tumor Update:
Had some photos taken the other day and it appears that Dean Krzyzewski (my pet name for this *******, named after my two most-hated ACC coaches) MAY have shrunk a tad. Lucy Liu (I wish) still wants to nuke me come January (since I ain't doing it before then), but wants to ramp it up. Looking at a 5-day, 3 week blast of gamma rays. No biggie, as radiation doesn't do much more than make me a little tired (& I suspect some of that is mental).
Anyway, the following is a partial transcript of our conversation:
Lucy: Lump appears to have gotten smaller
Uruk:What's next?
Lucy: Radiation and we will see after that
Uruk: Doc, tell me straight - do you think all of the drugs and alcohol I've ingested may have scared the #### out of the cancer?
Lucy: I will see you in five weeksGLGB... hope it keeps getting smaller

JFC, don't kids (not mine) respect their parents anymore? As a kid my Dad worked hard, provided for his family and drank every night. I loved, respected and admired the man. If for some idiotic reason I suggested he shouldn't drink or whatever, he would have beat me with a broom handle. That and when my middle son, who is now 11, said that he wished I would not drink around him.
BOGART!!!!Thanks for the donation bud! 1966!

  Mitts off limey.
THISBeing able to knock back a cold beer with my dad is one of my greatest little joys in life. Drink up. You will die regardless. Might as well punish the liver while you can.

Used to do this when I was 15-16. Then the ******* stopped drinking. What's a little cirrhosis? Quitter.Mom still likes teh Vodker though.Being able to knock back a cold beer with my dad is one of my greatest little joys in life.
Being able to knock back a cold beer with my dad is one of my greatest little joys in life. And having a glass of scotch with my mom is another. Playing a game of Scrabble with them both over an adult beverage is part of who we are and I wouldn't change that for anything. Drink up. You will die regardless. Might as well punish the liver while you can.
Buying my Dad a beer at the Ranger game is still in one of my top 10 moments ever. They retired Nolan Ryan's number that day, we had seats at the very top of the park behind home plate. Clothes a size larger than they are right now. Always my go-to answer. For my sons, there was nothing better than getting clothes, especially sweatshirts and things with sports logos. From what these boys wear/wore growing up, you'd have no clue what team they root for. Hell, Coop was a Minnesota Golden Gopher fan LONG before it was cool to be down with Goldie.Books, man. When our first was born, a family friend who lives in NYC sent us a toddler Yankees sweatshirt. Bear in mind, this is a person who probably couldn't name more than three people on the team, and I don't think has ever watched an entire baseball game. I told my wife there's no f'ing way I'm putting my kid in that thing. I found a GB who could give it to someone else as a present, and we just gave it away. Then the family friend wanted to know how come we hadn't sent any pictures of baby in said sweatshirt? ETA: clothes are good too.I was thinking about something like this? Something for college down the line. How much do these cost to start up? I'm able to pitch in to a GMTAN Flight Fund. It can all be on the QT (for you folks not of AARP age, Tanner will be able to tell you what this means).SLB contacted me today about his flights and two others have purchased their flights. Two are in Dallas and one in Houston and one in Austin- none of whom will be flying. THat leaves another 6-8 confirmed who have not yet made travel arrangements (to my knowledge). I I won't name names but two of them are females and the others are suspected female body parts.Danke, guten GM.Cos, got an update for CosHole? Who's in and who's a female-body-part-we-can't-say-here?2Something something Mexicans getting car insurance something something...Thanks, Gusher & Hocks. She's a stereotypical Chinese "nose-to-the-grindstone" type of lady with zero sense of humor. Are we wearing lapel-tags with FBG handles/real names?
I've been swamped lately, but will try and do a real update before long.
Also, there are a couple of gmtanners who would liek to come, but are having some atypical FBG money concerns.
I have a couple hundred in that FanBall or whatever thing. If someone wants to try and run that up to a total high to cover some airfares, I'd be happy to throw them the keys.
Homer was going to do it, but he's about as reliable as MOP in a movie theater.
I'm sure scrumptrulescent will be around to tell you you're doing it wrong any minute now.Three hours in to boys only weekend. Neither are wearing pants. Once has a bag of Doritos in hand, the other a bag of popcorn. I have a fine Austin Beerworks IPA and we're all watching Monsters Inc. Expert parenting 101 here. Slap it high?
Invite him along? You know how I've been working a lot? Well I haven't been home all week. You know how I said Cal has been acting up in school again ever since I got the neck brace off and I'm not home 24/7? Today was that day. The worst part is he owns up to everything he did, like push everything off of his IEP's desk, but can't explain why. :( We were supposed to go out to dinner with several couples tonight. Had Scooterguy lined up and everything but I canceled. Mrs. SLB thinks we should have just gone. Cal had no knowledge of said plans. I made the right call right?

I guess it should've been more of a fishbowl than a tray?
Maybe you and Cal could do a father/son night tonight? Let mom and the younger Wilt have a night to themselves while you and Cal grab some food and talk about life? I don't have any good answers, but every now and again, I believe some quality one-on-one time works wonders for parents/kids. I would bet he's expecting you to punish him or something (I don't know this for sure, so apologize if not the case) so perhaps surprising him with a night out of just you two might let him get some things off his chest, see you in a different light, something...I don't really know, GB.You know how I've been working a lot?
