GM's thread about nothing (34 Viewers)

I had a situation once where a chick flew out to see me after meeting at a friend's wedding. After about two days of being around her, the novelty wore off and I made her stay in a hotel and fend for herself. I felt bad, but not that bad.
:lmao:I read this in Roger Smith's voice.
I'm watching the Seinfeld pilot on TBS right now. The one where Jerry meets some woman on the road and she flies to NY to stay with him. It's pretty similar to that, except she wasn't "engaged."

Question for you guys. What is less douchey? Breaking up with someone a week or 2 before Valentines day, or right after? Assume there's no fighting in the relationship, but after 7 or 8 months you realize that you don't think they're the right one for you?
You need to make an appointment or something?
No...I just can't do it before we go on this trip that she already bought a ticket and is looking forward to. We get back February 1st...
The sooner the better.
Do it now and repay her all the money she has invested in the trip. You will regret it if you go and she will hate you even more.
Just have her change the ticket to Austin. We'll take good care of your rebounding ex-gf at Coshole

Just talked to the old neighbors. New Year's Eve, my GB Dre decided to go to sleep at 10. (Sucks, we planned on making up north to a party and would have invited them along.) So GB wife decides she is going to stay up and wait for midnight. She hears the fireworks and guns (yes guns, LOTS of gangsters & gangster wannabees in the old hood) going off and kneels down before the fireplace to pray for a better year. (Her Mom just died in December, cut her some slack). That's when she hears something tearing through her roof and a .45 bullet hits about two feet from where she was sitting. Whoa.

Having friends over for my birthday. Since they know me, I'm assuming each will be bringing various kinds of bourbon. At 10pm, one of my friends is in a new series on Cinemax called Banshee. We will watch his premiere. We will drink more bourbon.Since today is also my daughter's birthday :NOHOMER: and I've bogarted (not Bogart) the house tonight, she's inviting 3 of her closest friends for a sleepover tomorrow :NOHOMER: so tomorrow, I will be getting over a hangover, watching football, rollerskating and potentially getting my fingernails painted. Sunday will be more football, coaching indoor soccer, and watching my son's basketball team.
Jebus, can a Homer catch a break?

The boys are asleep, AngryWife is at a live music show and my neighbor Joel just left. I'm drinking cold Lone Star Beer and reading a book in a completely silent house. It's a pretty glorious Friday night.Tomorrow morning we're headed to IHOP and JR is going to test out exactly how many "neverending" pancakes a three year old can eat. I'm pretty certain that he's going to get his money's worth out of it.

I'm taking out two of my team for dinner tonight to thank them/decompress from the worst December any company could have imposed upon them.Tomorrow Mr. krista and I are flying to Boston, where we'll meet up for late-night dinner with friends of mine from high school, college, law school and Memphis. Should be a great time. I'll pay for it the next morning by spending several hours in interviews and then getting on a flight back to Memphis.I will manage to be at airports or in flight during all of the football games. :kicksrock:
Julio's Cap show up?
Don't know. I'm at work. I'll e-mail you when I have it.
His email got routed to my inbox by mistake:
Hello to my Dear Krista and How are Bill?Delighted to deliver news that a most lovely and delicious American head hat has found it's way to my head! And for thanks to you Mr. Bill and also how was your stay? My kidneys is better, thank you for the asking. Until we monkey boat meet again, may you each have mary's christmas and go the Orios!Love and from,Julio

Yeah, a free dinner should set everything straight.
Exactly my point. There's no doubt they're both leaving the company. Think I've mentioned this before.

According to GoodLloyd, it appears that you just need to be patient.

Bogart..hows your maaaamma? (Ribby voice). Looking for a positive update.
Mom is not doing well. We are actually pulling her off the ventilator tonight and letting her finally rest for good. She has been sick for years, in constant pain for years and the last nine months without her soulmate have been about as much as one person can handle. She is ready to go find him again. I'm at peace removing the machine, my guilt lies in putting her on it to begin with and keep her selfishly here for the last eight days. She has no fight left, and you could tell. It will be a hard few days coming up, but there will be some peace at the other end. Thanks to everyone in here for their support over the last year and change. First the divorce, then my stepdad, double hernia thrown in, and now my mom, I feel like a Debby Downer. But it has been nice to come in here and scream, yell and :wall: instead of going off and doing it in the real world.I promise much positive content and multiple shot videos in the near future.
TPW Bogart.

Had a banner ####### week betting golf...with Dustin Johnson wd and Zack Johnson missing the cut, won lots of ####### money :moneybag:If anyone wants to get drunk tonight, make a few plays and wake up tomorrow richer, here are some losers for youSpurs/QPR o2.5Fulham and if you're greedy like me, roll both those winners into ManUnited on Sunday :towelwave:Hope everyone has a nice Friday evening

Aloha. Major Affair, at 200 - 1 for the Derby, is worth throwing a few pesos at. If he overcomes the rail and wins on Sunday, those odds will drop precipitously. Since Derby futures close for the weekend soon, it's last call here.

And yes, he's a good play Sunday (4th at Santa Anita). Aloha.
100-1 at SB. Threw $5 on it

Just teasing GB. I know the BS you're going through. It's a nice gesture and I know you made them feel good.

Was out for some happy hour drinks with some GBs for my friend's birthday...One of the guys in the group is this huge, oafish but incredibly well meaning guy named Bill...Think the brother from Something About Mary but like two ticks more normal....Like I said, super nice, but incredibly socially awkward...He's still a virgin at 38So I have to go drop a deuce, and walk into the incredibly small bar bathroom that has no clearance, two urinals and a toilet...But it has a bathroom attendant for some reason, with all of his attendant wares for saleI'm sitting there checking twitter when I hear Bill enter...He's three sheets to the wind by this point and very loud...I hear him ask the attendant "Hey, are those condoms free?"The attendant responds, "No, they're 2 for $1"And then Will delivers one of the all time great lines:"Well I don't think I;ll need two, but you never know, 'cause #####es be Crazy man, amirite?"Just about fell off the toilet laughing

Well, the rockets lost. My wife avoided going to the "passion party" (sex toys) next door. My 2 year old wont to to sleep (watching cartoons). I only have three beers left. This is Friday night, I suppose. For those of you with speaker and no shame, please crank "thrift shop" in my honor. That song is dope and fly all at once. Holla.

I'm heading up to the mountains to go skiing with my old Marine Corps buddies. I was never in the Marine Corps though. What could possibly go wrong?
My BIL is an army ranger, and the most obscenely muscular person I have ever met. My attendance at his bachelor party with all his ranger troop was one of the strangest experiences in my life.

A good friend of mine went to rehab with Macklemore. My old college roommate used to book him for shows, and another friend of mine managed him for a short time. I've always had a soft spot for the dude, and yeah, that song kicks ###.

:lmao:Completely different stories but the description of they guy reminds me of the time our 30 year old GB that's a little slow, lost his virginity in the Twin Cities and when we asked him what they did he said "You know...the usual"

The kid that works for me is an aspiring rapper and is up to date on most everything. To his credit, he really studies the craft and works hArd to improve. He had never heard that song when I played it the other day and was floored.

First I'd heard of him was when a friend of mine came back from rehab. She's the type to exaggerate, and she told me about this local rapper she met up there who was just great. I sort of rolled my eyes a little bit. Sure. I bet the white guy you met at rehab is a major talent. I bet. Listened to some of his stuff and I liked it. Listened to the heist the first day it was out and was floored. Not my type of music really, but there's some good stuff on that record.

For some bizarre reason, one of his music videos takes place at my bosses old house in the U district.

My son had his first basketball practice on Wed. Coach is a friend of mine. I'm not coaching hoops this year for the first time in 4 years. Anyhow, he calls them over, does an introduction and then gets them into a drill. He then pulls out an iPod Docking station, turns it on and the first song to play? Gangman style. I told him I'd be back in an hour to get my son and left. Horrible. I'm ready to exit this planet.

Let's talk coshole13 food.I was thinking bbq Friday night, but I'm open to suggestions. I was also thinking about shrimp, fried and or gumbo.Does anyone have any specialties they want me yo help them fix for one of the brunches our superbowl?

Maybe he was juicing in a quest for mediocrity.

Started car shopping yesterday. One of the guys I talked to annoyed me right away but was nice enough. I made the mistake of giving him my contact info in case he found precisely what I was looking for. I told him DO NOT CALL....email only. He's called once and emailed more than once. Each time, he ends his correspondence with "Aloha". He's as white and dorky as I am. Aloha? I haven't heard that word this misused since Mellyhole '08.

Used. Never new. I'm playing 4 dealers against one another including Costco, my sister's BF (who is finance director for a huge car dealership network here), Enterprise and a friend of a friend's auto group that's also a major player here. I will drill down on what I want to buy, then find the best price from one of the four. Thanks

I don't get in until 9pm on Friday, so I'll just cab it to the bars, assuming some of you decide to go that route, and I hope you do. Just make sure somebody has a cold Coors Light waiting for me when I get there and I'll eat leftovers when I get to the compound.

someone posted a glowing review of buying a new car through Costco in another thread recently. Might be worth a look once you know what you want.
Makes it a fairly easy process. I wound up have the deal completed through email so when I walked in I signed the paperwork and drove out in my new car.
