GM's thread about nothing (21 Viewers)

I've had this horrible cold for the last 3 days. Last night I got about 3 hours of sleep. At the end of class today all I wanted to do was go home and rest. I was even planning on leaving a little early. Unfortunately we had a meeting after school that, as an 8th grade teacher, I had to attend.

It's the same meeting we have every year where we pick the kids that are going to receive special awards. There are like 10 different awards mostly from service organizations like the Kiwanas and the Elks.

So I go to this meeting sick, tired, and hopped up on Day-Quil. I'm really not paying much attention. Every couple of minutes I raise my hand to vote for a particular kid/award.

All of a sudden, out of the fog, I hear my name "Malloy? Malloy? Don't you have Greg Smith in your class? We want to know if you think he should get the Masons award."

I try to snap out of it and say "Greg? Oh yeah. Good kid. Real hard worker." Then for some reason I lapse into sports-speak.

"Greg just comes to class every day and does his job. He's a real 'lunch-pail' kind of guy." :crickets:

So I continue with "Which makes total sense because this is a school."

I don't remember much after that.

Ran out of beer and have no booze so I broke open the Windsor, which I also won. Winning begats winning. I really wish I didn't have to work tomorrow. I don't want to brag, but I won more on this bet than my wife made all last year.

 
Good night. Watches the first half at the bar and the second half at another bar. Taco cabana for snacks and McDonald's thereafter. Watxhingn a movie now.

 
So the apartment I was gonna get, literally right behind my bar, that was gonna be way too expensive but save me from a DUI...remember that? I called the owner again today because I wanted to make sure I got it...I was, however, informed that "I shoulda told you last time but I promised it to another guy and now he wants it."

I turned down a great deal on a share house with a buddy of mine that would have been awesome because I was expecting to get this apartment. I am now soooooo f###ed it's unbelievable. I have 20 people that are scouting for me, and I highly doubt I'll find a damn thing.

So pissed.

 
You know, I understand when nobody east of the Mississippi is posting at three in the morning. And I definitely understand at 5 in the morning.

But where the #### are the drunken idiots on the left coast? Seriously, this place dies quicker than a Kevorkian patient after 1am...meaning you West Coast turds are asleep before Leno. My parents are a hundred years old and I still can play Words With Friends with my mom later than seeing posts from you people. Long story short, my 76 year old mother is cooler than all of you.

We listed a lawnmower for sale on Craigslist and one of the responses I got said the following:

"Be interested in trading for an bushmasters never fired ar-15?"

That's probably illegal, right? :unsure:

I was sitting on my patio killing a bottle of wine with my wife last night. 'Cause it's still nice out west after the sun goes down, and there are a multitude of options available to people when they aren't all but required to be indoors at all times.

Putting aside debate as to whether it should be or not, it is not actually illegal. Private sales/barter are pretty much wide open especially down there in the Confederacy.
