20 relatives at Ao for a family reunion.

Migas for breakfast, light lunch assorted salads, and Oysters Rockefeller and Catfish Court Bouillon for dinner.

Found out one uncle just diagnosed with Alzh., another unc. significantly progressing thru his stages of dementia and my dad freaking out a couple days ago because of his increasing memory lapses. He's the oldest but healthiest (brain) of all of them. Ugh.

Think I'll eat a couple of vikes, have some beers and power thru the cooking while watching the derby and shucking oysters.

I do have a couple of cool cousins to help out and drink with.
Any chance you have ACL availablity in the chicken coops? I will be in town with child bride.

1. Who is flourophore on WWf? Can't remember.2. Only bad thing about my new job is I have to have a pass code on my phone. Hate that.
Pickles IIRC
Does he cheat or is he one of the good guys?
He's clean.
I'm gonna assume it was Abe not you who spelled fluorophore wrong. Otherwise there is zero chance I can trust the "he's clean" call.
Pickles may not be a cheater, but he has a large vocabulary and never leaves any tw or dw available.

Sweet.

Now what's a Miga?
There is no singular. Migas are eggs and tortilla chips, with tomatoes and peppers and anything else that falls to hand. Meat is optional.
This. I also added chorizo, pan sausage, chopped garlic and shallots

Its a mexican peasant dish where they chop up leftover meat/veggies, cook them in a little lard with pieces of left over tortillas. THen add eggs to scramble. Top with cheese if you've got it.
Can you expand a little? This sounds awesome.
Unpossible to make in Wisconsin.

Gusterhole thoughts/facts/observations.1. Guster is a fantastic host. Not only did he buy all the alcohol in Ohio in preparation for this weekend, he left goodies on our pillows. Bourbon balls, a Maker's glass, and a Derby 2013 glass.2. On Friday for dinner we went to a place that had bacon wrapped hot dogs. It was so good.3. Thorn went to the casino without me.4. At the actual Derby, I tried so hard to control myself and not embarrass TRE by having to leave and head back to the bus early. Let's just say I escorted TRE back to the bus early. 5. Has the video of " the race" been posted yet ? You need to see it.6. Today we introduced UniAlias to pull tabs. He now has a raging addiction to gambling.
Sounds like a great time.

Now this hotel in Kauai is a ####hole. The whole place reeks of pinesole. The pool water is green. Couple that with the fact everyone else we've seen staying here is at least 65 if not 70. Leaving for a new place now. Oof.
Tried to tell you but you wouldn't listen. HTDH
I tend to make series of bad decisions that generally go on for years. We're at the Marriott Laihue now. Just a slight difference. Let me know if/when I can buy you dinner and drinks.

You Derby people and handsome bald headed Hawaiian studs put me to shame.

My Saturday night consisted of nursing my hungover wife, then sucking down some Nitro Milk Stout and a couple pints of Founder's DOOM IPA with a little Jameson on the side, all while watching NIN videos (no idea why - I think I saw one on FB or something), Iron Man 1, and when I was real lit, Apocalypse Now.

Party on!
1. nitro milk stout is a good beer

1. watcehd the first iron man with son and girl last night. ;thumbup:

So, we had started drinking around 7 in the morning and sometime mid-afternoon, Tre and I decided it was time for some horse racing. We put on horse masks and some random guys we had been partying with donned the tiny plastic jockey hats Tre had sent and hopped on our backs to race. It looks like I was ahead of Tre for much of the race, but he brought the steam late and had incredible closing speed... Until his jockey leaned too far forward, sending our hero tumbling to the ground. Tre was gushing blood from his knee and scraped up his arm pretty well too.

:lmao:
Greatest non-porn video ever. So awesome!!!

I hate this stupid phone, between it and the software upgrade I miss half the posts here.Anyhow Mrs. SLB passed out about 10 and this was after she spent dinner whispering the whore things she was going to do to my penis. I tried and tried to shake her awake but nothing. <_<
That's some bull#### GB. Wake her up right now.

Sidenote: my GF is passed out and I'm wasted. This almost never happens.

I'm drunk. What else is happening right now?

I hear Chaz isn't getting girls thrown at him at derbyhole. Bunch of slackers.

 Stone sober. Another wedding to do in a couple of hours. At least this one should be short and sweet. Yesterday's hillbilly pentathalon started 50 minutes late.
Update: Wedding went well but...

A couple of minutes into it the groom leans over and starts to whisper to the best man. I'm right in the middle of talking about what a marriage means or whatever so I'm a little distracted. After about 45 seconds the best man bolts away from the 'altar'.

I took a wild guess and said "Did he forget the ring?" Groom nods and says "yep". :lmao: Guests crack up. Good thing the rings were only about 100 feet away in the groom's dressing room.

First time that has happend to me during a wedding. Although I have had the old "I don't have the ring? Do you?" routine where all of the groomsmen ask each other and pretend not to have it about 10 times. Hill-air-e-ous.

I just finished watching the first 4 or 5 episodes of Season 1 of Justified and liked it, but found it a bit repetitive. I have been assured it picks up. Where are you, series wise?

Watching season 1 irt I gave up on it. But watching season 1-4 on Netflix I was transfixed and the 3rd rate soap opera dramma and became addictive. I do not know if it got better or my standards plummeted, but I cannot wait until the next episode, every time I watch..

I'mfairly certain Mrs Slb and myself are the poorest guests on this trip. I haven't met anyone yet that doesn't own a 3rd world nation, a fleet of luxury cars and an armada of ships. This is some crazy #### though. Upon arrival everybody got to choose a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. I've must have had a hundred really expensive free drinks comped. Last night was dinner on some plantation they rented out. Open bar four different appetizers then an 8 course meal. After that was an open cigar bar and all of the chicks got to choose a sarong. Wow all of these broads looked hot wearing them. Then there was a band after that. It seemed like most people were "meh, this is alright I guess" but I was blown ####### away.Mrs Slb went to bed on our return to the hotel and I hit the bar. I've apparently made a name for myself :oldunsure: since I was cheerfully greeted by a bunch of people there that I had zero clue as to who they were. Bar closed and I sat on the beach by myself smoking one of the many cigars insisted on me, drinking whisky, staring at the stars and fiddler crabs scurrying about. Damn, you rich people got it good.I need to go get a drink before I vomit. We are getting a helicopter tour of the island at noon. :mellow :

Is there salsa or pico de gallo involved?
Your chopped vegetable usually include tomato, onion and jalepeno (which is pico de gallo or most salsas) but doesn't have to. You can also top it with pico or salsa.
I make a "cajun" version the morning after a crawfish boil.

Crawfish, potatos, onions, garlic, sausage, corn, mushrooms....topped with cheese

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but it rules and needs to be posted.

“When I think about kids watching a TV show like American Idol or The Voice, then they think, ‘Oh, OK, that’s how you become a musician, you stand in line for eight ####### hours with 800 people at a convention center and… then you sing your heart out for someone and then they tell you it’s not ####in’ good enough.’ Can you imagine?” he implores. “It’s destroying the next generation of musicians! Musicians should go to a yard sale and buy an old ####### drum set and get in their garage and just suck. And get their friends to come in and they’ll suck, too. And then they’ll ####### start playing and they’ll have the best time they’ve ever had in their lives and then all of a sudden they’ll become Nirvana. Because that’s exactly what happened with Nirvana. Just a bunch of guys that had some ####ty old instruments and they got together and started playing some noisy-### ####, and they became the biggest band in the world. That can happen again! You don’t need a ####### computer or the internet or The Voice or American Idol.”

Posted this in another thread a few years back:

I remember we were on a 7th grade field trip (1992ish) and on the way home the entire bus (boys and girls) were singing Alive. Not that there's too much good rock out now, but I can't imagine and entire grade of girls knowing any rock song vs. the pop that's out now. That's how strong music was back then.....I'm sure it will get there at some point again, but I doubt it's any time soon

GM, let me know when you've finished Season Two of Wires. I'm kind of pacing myself to keep on a similar schedule with you guys now.

Speaking of Season Two, having watched it all now, I might argue that Frank Sobotka is one of the greatest TV characters of all time. Not the most likable (though I think he was likable), but just the most well formed, complete, realistic and complex characters. I just found him endlessly fascinating. Nick Sobotka was right up there, too.

Wiki says there are different dishes called "migas" (Spain, Portugal, Tex-Mex)

I had "Migas de Puerco" over the weekend and it was delicious. Not sure if it's similar to what cos makes.
