At the beginning of the show the husband says "Chef Ramsey is coming here to tell the people how good the food is." That's like saying "Hey look...Chris Hansen is here to help me nail this 15 year old!"
Okay, I'm pretty much obsessed with this place now.
It just gets better and better.

I wouldn't be surprised if those two end up with their own reality show.
IDEA - What would it take to get Woz to video himself eating at this joint?

BETTER IDEA - Bobby and Woz finally cornhole, but it's this place.

Make it happen, Sacamano, for the greater glory of the internet.

I don't even know what it means. Juicing with steroids? I don't really use any kitchen devices except some pans and a grill. My kids use the Ninja for smoothies, my wife has used it for all our baby food (never bought a jar of baby food), it's used all the time....just not by me. Still not clear. I like eating fruit, but don't make juices. Well, I do make juices, but not with a ninja. :oldunsure:
:lmao:

I thought it was you that used a the Ninja aka a Juice Loosener.

poop talk

I noticed on vacation after drinking dozens of fruity drinks, mostly pineapple based, that I was pooping like a teenager again. I eat a big salad pretty much every day for lunch but the massive intake of fruit juices (and fiber) seemed to do something wonderful for my bowels. I'm looking for some confirmation that this was in fact the reason why because other than that, I ate rather badly.

Blazers have certainly had some rotten luck with draft picks like Brandon Roy and Greg Oden, but....they don't get enough crap for the good players they did draft that they traded for a bucket of piss and used .38 Special 8-Tracks.

Zach Randolph

Jared Bayless

Jarrett Jack

All playing in the playoffs...all drafted by Portland. All traded away for fleas.

:hot:
I'd say that Gerald Wallace trade (which got them Lillard) made up for all three of those.

YSR, I'm going to Charleston/Hilton Head/Savannah this weekend for a wedding. Any advice?
I can't speak to Hilton Head a whole lot. Nice place, but not too much of a young scene there - lots of retirees. Charleston and Savannah are both great places. Do you have a tentative schedule? Are you wanting to see anything historical, etc.? I can give food recommendations for both.
thanks. wedding is in Hilton Head so won't have much downtime there anyway. will be in Charleston most of the time (FRI/MON/TUES) plus a day or so in Savannah (SUN). Have a couple of food places lined up already (going to Sean Brock places Husk and McCradys in Charleston, and Mrs Wilkes in Savannah), but am open to hearing some of your favorites. Regarding things to see, don't know much of anything so any cool suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
Mrs. TF won a MC Hammer dance contest in some bar in Hilton Head a few years back. That's all I got

CC - I'm going to Calgary in June...anything worthwhile to do there?
My Canadian cred is really overblown. I don't have the slightest clue. Never been to Calgary. Never been anywhere in Canada except the Niagara Peninsula, Toronto and Montreal (once, during spring break, when I was already more American than Canadian, meaning I got drunk, puked in the streets, and visited strip clubs).

I haven't even crossed the border since 9/11. I hear it's a lot harder than the days when I used to walk across with a NYS driver's license and 1 sheet of LSD taped to my thigh.

:lmao:

I think Tiger was kidding, but if not....isn't Calgary like in the middle of nowhere? North of Montana, south of nothing? It's like asking Tiger for his recommendations in Boise, ID. (great town, btw).
Not kidding...have to spend a week there for work...just curious if there's anything cool to do
yeah, but see...just because he was born in Canada doesn't mean he....oh, you know what? Nevermind.

Hey CC, I'm going to be in the Yukon Territory next fall. I'll take your top ten diner and dance hall recs.

OK guys, I need some purchasing help. There are a number of items I've been dragging my feet on purchasing. Every time I think I find what I what, I end up seeing a lot of bad reviews. I think I've documented how I've become super cheap over the past 5 years, so I think that is part of it also.

Your recommendations would be welcome on:

A gas grill. This is really the tough one for me. Of course everyone says Weber, but the for the size that I want, I'm looking at like $1400. Just seems ridiculous. I have seen some in the $600 range, but they are just a bit small for my tastes. When I grill, I throw everything on there, and like to have a lot of room.

Camcorder. Doesn't have to be too high tech. Just something to capture the kids' childhood on for their future viewing.

A tent. Just need something that will fit two queen air mattresses plus gear. A lot of things I've looked at either look like they don't have enough air flow, or too much (screens don't zip up, just rain fly covering). Almost bought this today, until I saw a single review about little air flow.
1. Grill - I've had this one since 2006 with no problems at all. It only has 2.5 stars on Lowes, but it's also only $299.99. I should note that I only grill about once a month.

2. Camcorder - I bought one when the kids were born and can count on both hands the # of times I've actually used it. My iphone does the trick and is a hell of a lot more convenient. I've literally never watched any of the videos I've taken on the camcorder. Not one.

3. No help here

I keep seeing sales on this for $300. People say "yea, but you'll replace it in 3 years". Probably an exaggeration. I've gotten 7 years out of my cheap Kenmore, although I probably should have replaced it a year ago. So what's the different between buying a $1500 Weber once every fifteen years or five $300 ones in the same time frame?
That looks like a great deal

I'm cheap and go with Char-broils since they're dirt cheap. I usually get 3 to 5 years out of them but I keep them under the porch. If you expose yours to rain you'll probably get less life out of them.

:lmao: Ramsey spoke to a former employee who said they went through 50 people in the year and a half she worked there. When Ramsey brought that up to the wife she got all indignant and said "Can you prove that?!?" They turn to her husband who says "Actually it was 100."

I also like when she tries to show Ramsey "all the 5-star reviews that were not fake and written by [their] actual customers."

"Yeah, I'm here to pawn my Rolex that's a 100% genuine Rolex and isn't a fake Chinese knockoff or anything, so don't even worry about checking."

I never use a cover. Between the wind in Texas and the wife's dogs who think it's candy, it's futile to attempt to use a cover for me.

Rough situation at work. Oil and gas is a traditionally white, male, conservative dominant industry and my company just got named as one of the least "diverse" companies on the S&P 100. I'm a white male, so hooray for me, but a black guy in my group (we'll call him Lamont) has to sit next to a couple of racists.

Lamont has a recording on his phone of two guys in our group going off in an adjacent cube about a Mexican co-worker, going off on black people (several n-bombs), etc. After he made the recording several months ago he went to HR and our boss (Lamont and the racists report to the same guy). Boss' solution was for them to write a letter saying they were sorry. :lmao: Lamont is afraid of pushing the issue with HR as he's a younger guy and the two racists have been in the business for 25+ years and Lamont is afraid of being blackballed (I know).

Evidently things flared up again today and Lamont pulled me aside and asked if I wanted to listen to the recording. I do not. I started tearing up when I heard the story from someone else, so no way I could handle hearing it myself. I explained this to him and told him that I would help him any way I can, but I really didn't have any other advice other than "you have to take care of yourself."

I know things in this situation suck 100x worse for Lamont than they do for me, but I've no clue what to do here.

You are a co-worker and not his boss, so you're correct in saying you can't do anything 'for' him. Encourage him to pursue it with HR and let him know that you will be honest with anyone who questions you about what you personally have heard from the racists.

I work a couple of miles from that place. I never even knew it existed before now, though.
MUST GO.I put that in caps because an all-capital idea.GO!
I don't really get the whole reality TV craze. These people don't do any more for me than people on Survivor or Bachelor or Who Wants to Marry the Prince of a Bankrupt Island Republic in the South Pacific.
Oh neither do I. I've seen any of those shows, and the reason I know about this is because our good buddy Tanner. Jeezus, I don't have TV anymore (Netflix only).I thinking of the shtick potential here. Even if you don't anything but eat ####ty food, there's a decent chance some kind of nonsense will erupt. Or you could just complain about the food and record it on your phone. Like I said, bring Woz. I bet he'll complain about the food.

In this day and age how does not Lamont not now have a crap-ton of money coming his way thanks to a suit/settlement?

Oh and you need to call Lamont a "big dummy" for losing the money that was in the secret drawer.

This is a tough situation for you, as well as Lamont. You are obviously empathetic toward him from your emotional response and you know your co-workers are wrong. Knowing its wrong you must ow decide what your proper response/course of action is. as a bread-winner, employee, and human being. Sadly the confluence of those three factors provide three paths. not a single correct one.

I think you should somehow document your direct knowledge of the improper behavior of the other co-workers. While your manager may be nonplussed, I guarantee somewhere up the chain is a level of management that would abhor these actions, even if only because of the "least diverse" label they recently earned.

Let's give these fellows the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes in the heat of the moment we say things we don't really mean. One paid day off to reflect on what they have said/done sounds fair.

Co-worker has this shirt. Cracks me up every time.

I say a lot of things I don't necessarily mean, but dropping a slew of unselfconscious n-bombs has never been one of them. #### these turds.
You missed the joke. ;)

Ignoramous, does your company have a code of conduct where you are obliged to report this? My former companies' codes would have required a report of the behavior even from someone not involved. If not, I'd definitely stay out but encourage Lamont to work this through the proper channels.

Fortunately, I don't have "direct" knowledge of anything. My office is on the opposite end from where these guys sit and I've only heard what was recounted by others who heard the recording and by Lamont. I've never engaged the two in anything other than very casual chit-chat (politics, especially our President, seems to be what sets them off), so I've never heard anything directly from them. If I do, I will go to HR.That said, I'm honestly not sure what kind of traction it would get, even at higher levels. In our recent leadership meetings, of about 500 senior leaders and executives there was not a single black person. Not one. I'm not claiming to be Rosa Parks or anything, but it really struck me as I looked around the room.

Have a friend nicknamed 'dummy'. That's the picture that shows up on my phone when he calls.

Sorry, I misread as your having witnessed. Ignore my prior post. You have no obligation, but this sounds like a big company, and I'm assuming a public company as well. It will have a Code of Conduct/Ethics (public companies are required to) and that document will set forth the steps Lamont should take, including lodging a complaint with the Compliance and/or Ethics department. Of course, even if he doesn't get satisfaction from those steps, there's nothing to stop him from bringing an EEOC complaint.

ETA: I really should read more carefully. It's S&P 100 so obviously public. Lamont needs to check the Code. It will likely give him some options, including complaint directly to the Compliance group. At that point he can also choose to remain anonymous or have his matter treated confidentially (this is also required by law). There will also be provisions for treating him as a whistleblower such that he cannot be retaliated against.
