I spent the majority of the long weekend drunk in the adirondacks with my cousin. He's 28 years old and very entertaining. If you didn't know him, you'd probably think he's mildly mentally challenged, but in a humorous way. He pretty much has a zero success rate with the ladies, but he makes for a good wingman even though he doesn't realize it. I almost ended hooking up with young lady that was way out of my league and mostly it was because she thought it was sweet that I took my "challenged" cousin out for a night on the town. She was out with a group of friends and apparently the male friends didn't like me hitting on her and one guy was totally trying to get me to throw a first punch at him. But after a couple of jokes and a round of shots I suddenly became best friends with these guys. The girl ended up leaving and I ended up hanging out her guy friends for another hour doing shots and entertaining them as I danced with an elderly woman.

But being out with my cousin made me realize that I really wish I was 20 years younger and just going to college. My God, the advances in technology today have made it so much easier to get laid. Has anyone here seen or used "Tinder"? I had never even heard of it until this weekend. (Homer you would love it) When I went to college I was limited to finding girls that were either at the same partyas me , lived in the same dorm or in the same class as me (when I chose to attend class) With technology today, you can cast such a huge net. Sigh....

Also, I met a bartender who was extremely cool and reminded me of our Homer J. He loved the younger girls and introduced me to many of them has his "old army buddy". We traded one liners from "Arthur" and he provided me with many free drinks. When I left his bar I told him he reminded of a guy I knew (Homer) and that it was a great compliment to him. He replied "Dude, I love you". I could only reply with one question: "wanna make out?"

If you're fleeing the mosquitoes and poor kitten health, have you thought about somewhere besides the US? I know if I had vaults of mullah and retirement, I'd return to the motherland in a heartbeat. It's like a slightly more expensive but far more socially enlightened version of the US, with better strip clubs and like 10% of the homicides.

We moved to Charleston and loved it for about 30 days. The next six months before we gtf out of there were some of the most excruciating ever. Southern accents, manners and charm are very agreeable and pleasant for a while, but the unspoken, underlying racism and general redneckness become quite transparent before long.

Definitely test drive it for a month before investing in property or even a lease.

Actually, with your track record, I'd make that recommendation for any city.

Don't you think this would be a general issue in all three locations? Agree, should always test drive.

Atlanta and New Orleans are much larger and more culturally diverse. Not really a comparison in my experience.

We have a kitty whom I've written about before, the little fuzzy one who was young but had kidney problems.

Seems being in a tropical climate ain't so awesome for him. Or maybe it has nothing to do with that, but he's just going downhill. But he's on a fast track to awfulsville. Vomiting four days straight, not eating and not in good shape.
