What the hell could happen that's bad enough that you knew to call 9-1-1 as it unfolded, but not so bad that you'd wake up OK enough to write the FFA?

Ok, odd. I didn't call 911, my neighbor did. I fell in the yard and he saw me. Dont recall but went into the house after falling and must have fell again.

Woke up to EMTs coming in. Nice thing about where I live is hospital is 1/4 mileaway. My doctor is also a resident there and knows my oncology dr well.

Gave emts #### that I could crawl there faster than they could get me there.

anyway, initial thing is TIA, which is a bull#### diagnosis for we-dont-know.

I think I was just weak from not eating much (radation does that to me). have not eaten a full meal in a while

one emt was laughing when I said wait a sec I'm posting on a ff mb. he asked how my team was! Told him I had shady thrusday and he hi 5ed me

Find something you can keep down, GB. I have heard a certain herbal supplement is effective against nausea. I am sure multiple jimtanners could hook you up.

 
Home! One of the EMTs gave me a lift. He's a WVU fan, so I guess he's sorry he stayed for the few minutes he did - or that he even took me to the hospital.

Kev, I hear ya but I'm subject to random testing. The construction industry ain't the most progressive.

Homer, I have TRIED to imagine her looking like Lucy Liu. YOU look more feminine than she does.

 
Ok, piecing together from different sources:

I went to get my mail. I remember going to the mailbox. The next thing I recall is being on the floor of my house.

According to my neighbor (who's also a WVU fan, but I won't hold that against him), I was walking back towards my house and I crumpled in the yard. He came over and then called 911. He says I got up while he was on the phone - I have no recollection of this - and went into the house, where I dropped again.

By then, my neighbor was checking me over (not a euphemism, a band name, OR anything non-hetero) and the EMTs showed up. I don't recall seeing my neighbor when I came to, but he says he was there.

Next thing I know, I'm on a cart. That's when I posted here and the EMTs were laughing.

My vitals were fine both in the "drop zone" and at the hospital. They did an EEG (or is it EKG?; the one where they put the clothes-pins on your fingers; the other is when they put the glue in your hair). In my limited hospital experience, if you drop and they can't immediately identify the cause they call it a TransIshemicAttack (mini-stroke, basically; doesn't show on any of the main tests - shocking, ain't it?).

I got to feeling good after I got over being scared. So, after talking to my doctor and her talking to Dr Lucy, I told them I was leaving.

I love food and all the family-friend stuff that comes with it. I grew up on the Chesapeake, having crab feasts. Living on my own and being away from all of that - add to that, radiation just kills my appetite - and it slips my mind. During the week, it's ok because my coworkers help regiment meals. On the weekends, I kind of forget, even if I'm cooking. Sounds stupid, I know.

Bill - I've gone through the trouble of creating a gmtan phone tree. We've agreed to work together and text you once every five minutes for the rest of the weekend to make sure you are ok. It's a good plan, I think. Except we need your phone number. :mellow:

I'm constantly amazed (and sad) about how diverse and profuse FF is. When I volunteer at the library I had a guy come rushing in sweating like mad babbling to me that he had to get internet access in 15 minutes. He was from out of town and had a FF draft to do. After getting him to slow down I told him how to get a temporary card to log on, wished him luck on his draft, and told him Carson Palmer isn't the great sleeper pick he thinks he is, that everyone knew about him being the official 2013 Sleeper QB and convinced him it was best to let some other fool waste a 5th round pick on him when Coach Otis says he should grab Vick later and be better off.

"Coach Otis?"

"Nevermind."

The guy was astounded at my FF acumen (thank you FBGs) and forgot all about his deadline as he picked a humble library volunteer's brain for FF advice.

Also - glad to hear you're ok, Bill.

Mrs. SLB wanted to go to the Fall Festival up the street at City Hall. Gorgeous day and I must say it was pretty cool. Well except parking was at a premium and I was lucky enough to pull in right when somebody was getting ready to leave. So we waited. Guy pulls out and this ########## comes in from the other direction and steals my spot. I have lotso stress these days. This didn't make me happy. Fortunately somebody else was leaving too and we got right in. Of course (mock me now) I made a point to walk over to said ##########, with my boys holding my hands. He had his window rolled down. Big ####### dude. I say "hey thanks for stealing my spot. Everything working out for you alright?". My boys were silent. Dickface kind of looks down and mumbles something about not seeing me. I stared at him for about five seconds, he wouldn't make eye contact, and we walked away.

Am I an #######? Yeah sure. I consider this a teaching moment though. :thumbup:

I sort of wish I could have shown the boys why you don't #### with me. Yes that's kind of sad but I'm a little bit angry these days.

You did the right thing. Well, you should have threatened his life, but otherwise this was right from the script of what to do.
