Yes. Had a big "cheat weekend" in Palm Springs last Sat-Mon but back on it Tues. Minus 37 lbs this AM even after that. Of course I am exercising more than I have in 20 years.

I'm down to 194 (ish) after being 230 back at the end of June.

Goal: Eventually to hit 168#.

Bonus points to whoever knows why 168.

A GB showed up last night and we got stupid wasted. Rents are watching the boys today/tonight and we were supposed to go out on the river with my GB, other friends, and then stay at their house. Weather is kind of crappy though. Pretty sure there will be an orgy. I'll send some pics through normal channels.

 
Probably doing nothing tonight. Have to do some work. Maybe some steaks on the grill for the family and some tv watching

Which means just another night of living vicariously through SLB

Headed off to the gym to walk on the treadmill. Sure, I could walk around my neighborhood, but the scenery is more...concentrated at Gold's.

 
Went & saw my dad in the assisted living facility this morning. He had no clue who I was but, while he was eating breakfast, offered me a piece of his toast - for about a milisecond before popping it in his mouth. Same with his bacon. I'm 99% sure he wasn't messing with me, but that 1% chance has had me laughing since.

You can find deals at different times on Newegg, Techbargains, BB, Amazon etc depending on when they have their sales. I bought 2 TVs about a month ago but did research for a while and it seems the deals rotate. Ya ever hear of Pele?

Had Jim Craig moment at little Zooks' soccer game this morning. In the final minute of the game Little Zooks in goal, he made a diving stop to preserve a scoreless tie (shocking 7 year olds fail to score) As his teammates all come around him for high fives and pat his back, he breaks away from them and runs down the sideline yelling "where's my Dad?" Runs right by his mother and gives me a big hug and says "did you see me do that?" The ref and his coach had to come over to tell him to go back in goal since the game wasn't over yet. After the game the ref came up to me and said "dude, that was cool moment, it put a lump in my throat". Gotta admit, I had a lump in my throat too. Just a cool "Dad moment" that makes it all worth it.

My friends dad introduced himself twice to me this morning. I've known him since 8th grade, he's coached basketball for me as a teenager, and we played together in a rec league just 4 years ago. Plus he's been an architect for us as well and started to miss appointments, forget what meeting were about or who/why he called etc. Alzheimer's is sad as can be.

There's no logic to it. If I say "Dad, you need to shave", he goes right in the bathroom & does it. Ask him where the shower is immediately after and he tries to go outside. He also has started speaking in his own form of Klingon or something. A sentence will start out well enough, but then turns into something Tolkien would be proud of. Then my father :shrug: like I should agree.

I was at my kid's soccer game too. I had to get mad at him because he was screwing around and not paying attention, and then he was overtly not paying attention to me when I talked to him which set me off, causing him to cry and run to mommy for comfort all while complaining about me. Good times. :thumbup:

 
Finally back in austin with no travel coming any time soon. I would ask for a 2-3 day updated but I'm just going to assume that awful things have happened to at least a couple people and offer tpw up front.

Drinking beer on the back porch while the boys play with the neighbors dog. Its a beautiful 85 degrees here in austin.

Anyone that I'm not facebook or linkedin friends with should hit me up.

jr watched return of the jedi for the first time a couple days ago. I asked him how it was and he told me that princess leia was kind of naked. Smart boy.

Yung Truck and I watched Masters of Sex the other night. Pretty sure those are the first boobs he's seen that milk wasn't coming out of.

My daughter also likes playing "The Car Driving Game", which is GTA 5, albeit just driving around, not going around piping mother####ers or doing missions.

 
Watching the Red Sox game and saw one of the concession guys walking up and down the aisles with a tray of clam chowder. I knew that you could get seafood at the game, but there's just something wrong with the dude walking through the seats with a bunch of cups of it

okay, I know you guys don't like good news in here, and I'm not much of one for look at me, or humble brag posts....

but, I saw a few people mentioning soccer above :)

My youngest daughters team won today 6-3 and she scored four goals. Best I've ever seen her play and she came over to me at half time to give me a hug and tell me about her scoring (yeah, like I wasn't watching and beaming like the proudest mofo on earth inside) and it was nice.

And my son has been playing in a competitive soccer team for 3+ years now. He just turned 13, and the past 2 years he's been playing in a u15 league...yeah, he was 11 playing against 15 year olds that were a foot+ taller then him. needless to say, his team has has 3 wins the past two years. Well, this year, they put him a u14 league and his team is 4-0 with 28 goals for and zero against.

Been a good year for soccer at guru household even if ManUnited is sucking ###.

So this is kinda random.....Went to buy a couple of new suits a few weeks ago and there was a female sales person. Figured late 20's, obviously awesome body, but was a mess above the shoulders. Didn't appear to be naturally ugly, but her hair/make up situation was a trainwreck. I always assumed that most younger women had close friends that would advise them when they were making horrendous fashion/grooming choices. Apparently I was wrong.

Went back today to pick up the suits. Same story. She's in awesome shape but the face looks like its really been around the block.

Then tonight I get a spam email from a dating site I used to go on. (one of those ones where they send you pictures of randoms trying to get you to come back). Sure enough, one of the girls in the email was the girl from the suit store. And I gotta say, she looks pretty fantastic in the pictures (as far as obviously incredibly trashy girls from New Jersey go). So either those pictures are a couple of years old and she's gone WAY downhill since then (seems likely) or she's purposely uglying herself up for her boring suit selling job. (which wouldn't make much sense, as I assume she works on commission)

 
Hi. Been traveling most of the week, waiting on my red eye home. 3-4 day update? Same stuff? Bad stuff happening to the health of loved ones, creepy pedophile comments from Homer, and cat gifs from Tanner?

Austinites - I'll be around a bunch in the next 5 weeks or so.
