GM's thread about nothing (52 Viewers)

If you have Netflix, check out a movie called Monument Avenue. 90's Boston crime drama with Denis Leary. Pretty solid flick and I'd never even heard of it before.

I go country. I'm sure that's a shock. Friends in Low Places or Family Tradition are my usuals.

One thing I definitely can't sing is Buenos Noches from a Lonely Room by Dwight Yoakam. I know this because I was drunk at a wedding reception once when the singer went on break. Seeing this as my big chance, I hopped up on stage and told the band to hit it. Sang the first line, realized I didn't know another word and dropped the mic. My date was not impressed.

Anyone near Kirkwood MO.? SLB?

My daughter's University Choir is hitting Kirkwood tonight for a concert.

If you're into that stuff they are truly an awesome choir.
Funny, I texted my GB that lives in Kirkwood this morning about getting together tonight but they have plans. Will there be booze there?
Unfortunately probably not. But my daughter and a few friends would gladly go out after if you want to show them around.
Let me know if they come to the Hamptons.
Out of your age range GB.

:whew:

You will never meet a greater champion of pure choir singing than SLB.
I was never into it either until my daughter started singing in her HS Choir. I've come to really appreciate this stuff. It's not all churchy type of music. They sing some very cool tunes too. They even moved me to tears a couple times last Friday when they were here in Milwaukee,
You want me to show your daughter and her friends around. Think about what you are asking here.

Here's a drink for Homer. Made with Basil Hayden, creme de menthe and a chocolate rim, it's called a Kentucky Girl Scout.

My link
In Homer's version, the Girl Scout is the last ingredient, not the name.
No, the Girl Scout is the drink's recipient. :banned: :pickle:
So wait, is the chocolate rim later?
If she's lucky.

I'm usually pretty good with accents and tolerant of foreigners working telephone help desk lines, but I couldn't make any ####### heads or tails of the curry-ridden Indian chick's voice/accent combo just now. Had to call back and hope that I got directed to another continent for help.

Thank you! Come again!

Same continent, and even another Indian chick this time, but this time was much better. She spoke slower and had a lower voice which helped over the phone.

It starts getting embarrassing around the third time that you ask them to repeat the same damn sentence, and I had to do that a few times with the other one.

I'm still drunk from last night and at a 4th grade girls basketball game. It's 16-3. Awful, awful display. It's terrible what they're doing to this sport.

I drank a lot of tequila and I think I sang Puddle of Mudd karaoke last night
This reminds me that I need to find a go to karaoke song.
Mine is Soul Man. It's more like screaming than singing, though. I'd like to find something else, but I'm just so good at this.
Okay, let's hear it.
I've got some video around. Actually sang it a handful of times with my buddy's college band. Kind of a special appearance type of thing.

This is what Vegas looks like if you're my GB, whose wife drops a ton of coin in the slots.

And this is what Vegas looks like if you're me.
I always see "the room" as just a place to drop off my ####, store my backup cash, and maybe shower once...if really necessary. I'd take a cot in the boiler room if it were available.

I used to stay at the Imperial Palace whenever I went...which pretty much IS a cot in the boiler room.

I found out yesterday that a new guy I work with is a champion yodeler.

True dat...but not for much longer. They have completely redone the casino, and it is much nicer than the Flamingo and Harrah's on either side. Apparently, they are going to redo the rooms too.

Oh, and it has been re-branded as The Quad. :oldunsure:

Every time he needs to follow up with you on something, you should always say, "Holla!"
