GM's thread about nothing (14 Viewers)

Holy crap I was drunk last night. Had a couple Glenfiddich's at dinner with the lady and bought a bottle on the way home and had about 6 more while finishing up season 3 of Mad Men.

Is this about our Facebook chat last night?

I love you too.

What are the odds on Welker to score the first TD?
1 in 5.Seattle offense

Thomas

Thomas / Moreno

Welker

Someone else / defense / decker
Wat?
I think there is a 20% chance he scores the first touchdown. I think there is a 20% that it's Seattle offense in some fashion.

I think there is a 20% chance it's d Thomas.

Essentially 10% each for Julius and Moreno.

And about 5-10% that the first touchdown is another Denver player like decker or a defensive touchdown.

Doesn't seem all that confusing to me.
I've got it at 50/50. Either he does, or he doesn't. Not all that confusing, IMO.

Tiffany is making brownies for my sister's SB party. She wants to decorate them with "HUT HUT HIKE". I don't think I can let that happen. My scotch driven suggestion was "Hut Hut, Football Words, Tackle, Pass, Omaha"

Yesterday I took JR to Dollar Tree to buy some cheap toys. He told me before we went in that his stomach was hurting but that he would be ok until we made it home. Foolishly I bought the story and we went shopping. Three minutes into it, he threw up so hard that he pooped his pants. It was all a blur after that.

K4> Glad to know we're on the same team again. I agree on Hank Jr being a turd. Hank III has some very good stuff and some very bad stuff.

Ever since I left my car running for 10 hours, it won't start. We're currently trying to jump it but I'm not feeling much success. The battery died by being run for 10 hours? Is it an alternator? Any car guys please help.

It's all good. I got a little dramatic (drunk) last night. I'm not going anywhere but some things need to change for sure.

Please go on about your business. Show's over. Nothing to see here. Move along, folks.
Sorry dude. That sounds terrible. Lots of us here with experience in these sorts of thing if you need to vent again.

I hope the 'hurry' cookies weren't a reference about finding a place

I am either going to be really happy or really disappointed tonight based on a bunch of other grown men I don't know playing a game in tight pants.

I'm on Denver ML and Denver -2.5. Bet on the OVER 139.5 seconds for the Opera Singer. Bet on Tails. Need 3 more prop bets. Anybody? Wagering thread is too....noisy for me these days.

Do you have gas? The car should start without an alternator but if the battery does die again it is most likely the alternator

AFC was genuinely terrible this year other than Denver. Seattle is so physical, just think they're going to beat the Broncos down. Like them a lot + 120. Though I was 0-2 last week after going 5-1-2 in the first 2 rounds

Did you check the tires air pressure?

All I got

Abe, is this the job that's not challenging enough? Sounds like you have plenty of challenges. And I'm not even including math in that assessment.

Fwiw: I can't imagine a sales job not being challenging enough. Seems like the odds of a Welker TD: either challenging or swimming in piles of money.

Does she get naked in there? I mean after that True Detective seen I feel like I'm getting greedy, but, still.
No nekkidness unfortunately, but she is just f'ing perfect.
That was the best nude scene in TV history.
It's pretty high on the list for film history as well. Cates...and then who?</blockquote>

Might be better than Cates. Got both sides. </blockquote>

I need more info on this. I haven't seen it

Malcolm Smith Under tackles is my biggest prop bet of the day. I'm expecting him to barely play with the return of KJ Wright and the fact Seattle should be in nickel just about the entire game.

It's not the challenge of it, its the fact that I'm stuck in the mud so often. I was hired to turbo-charge the sales efforts. I have done that, but the enthusiasm of ownership to increase sales has not been matched by a capacity to handle those sales. For example, I booked a $10k hardware order in October and told the customer they would have the hardware in 4-6 weeks per standard lead time. They are getting the hardware tomorrow because the owner "forgot" to order it for two months despite my repeated requesting (and then begging) for it to get done. When we sign on new contract customers, there is no playbook for how to onboard them so the process is a disaster and usually gets close to costing us the contract. Afterwards I hear, "we'll put together a plan so we do better next time!" but if never changes.

Here's the thing: I'd be 100% cool with these issues as solving problems as they come up is part of working for a small business so long as I was paid for the pain. But my pay is heavily based on commissions and when I spend 5-10 business days a month NOT selling because our guys literally can't do the work, it means that I am missing out on a chance to provide for my family. When our inability to execute costs us customers, it costs me money. I literally work an average of 3-4 hours a day because if I do any more, the weight of new customers and new jobs will cripple our infrastructure. I'm not talking about MOP-level Rainmaking either, just simple B2B sales.

update: the battery is absolutely fine. I was told that since I ran the car for 10 hours straight at Idol, there's a good chance that the engine is flooded. The guys at O'Reilly's auto-parts walked me through some ideas which included the following. 1. Take the spark plugs off the engine and kill the fuel switch, turn the engine on and if it's flooded gas will fly out of the top of the engine.

2. Kill the fuel relay switch, leave the spark plugs on and keep trying to turn the engine over. If your engine is flooded, after a few minutes of trying to turn the car over, all the extra gas in the cylinders will simply leak out of the tailpipe.

I'm not comfortable doing any of this, but what the hell.

Yeah, that sucks. Definitely not what I thought you meant when you said not challenging enough.

Abe, I'm not even kidding, you just described my life at work. The pipeline of sales isn't the problem, it's the execution on the operations team. I work about 15 hours a week doing sales and 25 to 30 hours a week helping operations so that I can make sure my sales get turned into high-quality service.
