GM's thread about nothing (40 Viewers)

Can't quote the post because the mobile version is so neat but the recruiter should have given you some indication of dress protocol. You CAN be overdressed for an interview especially with an internet company. I've personally witnessed it

chinos, button up shirt and sweater vest should be a good middle ground

I like DSP.
I've pretty much confirmed what I IMed you yesterday. As much as I can, anyway. I see he's denying it though.
I PMed him last week. :hifive:

The search function is gone, so I thought I'd ask here: Are there any quality 55" smart TVs out there for under $1000? Or will I be disappointed using anything at that price range? I was looking at this one and I would purchase likely at a Best Buy in Delaware (if in stock) so would avoid sales tax. Has anybody been in the market for a mid-level smart TV of late?
I saw a 65" LED with wifi for ~$850 at Wal Mart over the weekend. If not for being broke I would have bought one.
What if I want to set a cap on a TV at $500? Doable? I don't care if it's smart or not. I'm not.
Again, lots of great deals here.

Job - help requested

I had a phone-screen interview for a job with an internet company. The role was for "manager" and about five minutes in the recruiter (who actually works for the company, not a third party) said I was more qualified for the "senior manager" role. It went well enough that I have a Skype call with the VP of Sales this afternoon. I am very interested as the company is solid/interesting and the compensation is 3x as much money as I've ever made in a year

What is the dress code protocol for a video interview?
bow tie and cod piece.
Best suggestion so far. Make sure to work in "epic mount" a couple of times too.

I agree here - sweater vest is actually not a bad call. I also suggested coat and dress shirt, not tie. Both should suffice

So Vegas was.... fun.

Had my best weekend ever gambling wise. My liver says it was the worst weekend it's had in years.

spill it
I"m guessing the bluemagic = DSP connection, which I concur
which one was bluemagic?
The emo that started posting here about 5 years ago with the same "Why is everyone so mean" shtick. Think he was Dr Zoidberg as well as Coooold Blooooooded over at e.

Pretty sure Zoidberg is Annyong

Bluemagic was around for about 5 months back in 2009. He started a pretty popular thread about his life being in the crapper. I think he came to chat some as well. All I know is that I have a notebook on the guy and some pictures as well. He also sent me his resume at one point.

I used to be really into this place. :oldunsure:

You are some short-memory having mother####ers. No wonder my djcolts joke didn't get any loffs.
Now that one I get. A 40 year old virgin is memorable. A younger emo dude whining about a depressing life is more common around here than homosexuality at a Bruno Mars' concert. And why on earth would some of us want to get bogged down in depressing life stories? We've got SLB in here daily to fill that quota.

Not even remotely notebook worthy.
he used to join chat and stuff, and apparently sent YSR his resume.

I'm guessing you had bigger things to worry about back around that time.

Looking back on what you posted, I could have had the life of DJ Colts and not been remotely interested in that cat.

I do remember :e: chat vaguely. I think my ex-wife was a more frequent visitor than me. :bag:
