GM's thread about nothing (14 Viewers)

I'm kind of buzzed, horny, and my wife is on the rag. I may get a little shower action tonite. Olympics sucks. Golf cancelled. I'm watching the BBC news.

My son comes home a minute ago.

I tell him "Hey come over here and watch this video. This sports radio station in Portland had a contest to find a new host."

My kid says "Is it that backwards hat guy?"

The Rudnicki legend spans all generations and an entire continent.
:lmao:

that video was awesome. needs more GM though. idiots.

Just realized I left out that part where I said "...and one of my internet friends entered."

My wife's sister asked on facebook "public school or private school"? This was a response she got:

Your children are very young. I can't speak in that regard. However, I will say that in the 7th grade, I pulled Meghan from public school after she was beat up by a gaggle of nineth grade girls & boys. She had mouthed off to them, nothing that warranted a physical attack. She was at Sunset Junior High at the time. I was livid. Joe was staying in SLC a couple days while taking the legal bar and avoid all stressors of traffic and home for a couple days. I made the executive decision of pulling her from school afterwa\rds with principal & VP. I demanded to receive my daughter home after school in the same condition as I sent her, not bruised and beaten. For a week, I searched for a private school, then enrolled her at St. Paul's Lutheran . . which only ran through 8th grade. In the 9th frade, I sent her to St. Joseph's High school. I had no problem with the school, whatsoever. However, I learned in hind site (sadly), than many of the brite students were there because they had been in trouble in public school (fighting, drugs, disciplin, etc). They all looked so clean-cut and sharp in their uniforms. Who knew? Meg got tied up with a pretty girl who provided her with her first opportunity to smoke pot. Meghan soon began cutting, just as Rachel had been doing for several years. Meghan was in therapy for many years, for all the good it did (none). And on every antidepressant on the market at one time or another. They all made her more depressed and suicidal, for which she had a few hospitalizations. Now I believe she was never properly diagnosed . . . probably bi-polar. Somehow she dropped through the cracks . . it was missed by psychologists and psychiatrists, worst of all by her Mother. So to answer your question, my experience with private school was not good. Perhaps all of this would have happened regardless. I'll never know. In the ninth grade Meghan was selected as a cheerleader -- she was beautiful and an excellent gymnist. However, her GPA fell .5 below ninimum requirement. I begged St. Joseph's to allow her to somehow makeup the grade and fill the position. They refused. Woulda, shoulda, coulda . . . Well, you know the rest.

This dude on NBC is trying real hard to make guys skiing and shooting into something more interesting than watching Tanner google for doge pics.

As I'm typing this, some dude named 'Shemp' entered the competition. Worst Stooge ever.

In HS I delivered pizzas, and for lunch every day we'd watch Three Stooges around 3 PM or so. My asst. manager preferred Shemp to Curly. Really actually true.

I'm reading a box of love letters written in 1949. He's a sailor deployed on the island of Kwajalein. She's a keypunch operator in New Jersey. They're my parents, resting in peace together forever. In two hours I eulogize my mom. I had a lot to say about hospice and the actively dying several days ago. In a PM I threatened to post it all here. I'm glad I didn't. Venting can be cathartic, but later it always reads like whining. I hate whining.

Even long lives of 87 seem too short. Hug your loved ones. Cherish time. Carry on.
Haven't gotten past this post, but well wishes sent your way CC. Your first 4 sentences are beautiful and tell, at least to me, a wonderful story.

Can we do Awau with flesh colored fabric in figure skating costumes? The polish chick skating now is quite fetching and looks like she's half naked. Except she's not.

Stupid flesh colored costume.
What I really want to know is why your autocorrect comes up with things like "Awau" and "Hapleban". :lmao:

Thanks to the magic of facebooks, I just learned Bentley's middle name
I wanted that to be JR's middle name (which would also make him JW) but my wife was adamant that only serial killers and hillbillies had my middle name.
:lmao: Bentley, the kindly killer
I'd get in his white van.
Just forth record, it's not really creepy when you talk like this but it's still creepy when cos does it to you. Speaking of which, anyone heard from cos? I talked with him to get his squares $ right after the Super Bowl but haven't seen him around since. Hope he's ok

Heard from him today. He's out of town on family business. He is ok.

Got so drunk last night that I passed through hungover, took a nap, and woke up drunk.

Daddy/daughter ball tonight. Stretch limo, dinner, dancing. 6 screaming girls. I'm thinking Irish coffee.

:lmao: I'm going to stop, I'm actually starting to creep myself out a little.

P and S: I never said cos creeped me out, did I? I hope not. And I hope he's doing okay as well.

I've got daddy/daughter dance next weekend. I'll be taking my daughter to dinner at the pub across the street beforehand. I'm not limo rich, but then again, I don't have a spelling bee ribbon winning daughter either

He might not have creeped you out, but as a guy that is infinitely familiar with toeing the creepy line I recognize when it's crossed. :bag:

And Bentley is awesome. He's an inspiration as a father, businessman and person. I'm just naturally too snarky and too much of a huge ####### to pull off the charm he has. He and Thorn are two of the most universally liked people I know

Anyone ever watch this show Lost Girl? Stupid SyFy crap, but good gawd almighty, the main chick is insanely hot...and her spritely little sidekick is Homeriffic as well.

(available on Netflix)

(sorry GM)

We split the limo three ways. It ends up pretty cheap, and the girls feel like princesses. Totally worth it. They like the limo ride better than the dance.

At a place called Pinthouse Pizza. You beer nerds would love the variety, but every hipster in Austin is here. Dudes in scarves everywhere you look.

I'm staying in tonight and was looking for something to watch on Netflix or Amazon. Maybe I'll give it a try?

Oh and any other recos? Assume I've been living under a rock and haven't seen any movies ever.

I generally find comedies unfunny unless they have dry/witty humor

Action movies are good mindless fodder but don't really excite me

Any movies I must see or else meet the scorn of the GMTAN?
