GM's thread about nothing (65 Viewers)

GB texted me, asking if I wanted to hide from SXSW with him. We are about as far as we can get and still be in the metro area. Booze and munchies, engage.

At a park today, I saw an adult playing two hand touch with 3 children... Dad was most likely parent of one of the children and the other two were his friends, that's the common sense assumption. Kids were about 10ish.

I was with my son nearby and the game caught my attention. The Dad and his teammate (presumably his son) were beating up on the other two kids, the Dad was full go, I thought this was ridiculous. He was full speed, catching passes, rushing the QB, knocking down passes, etc.

At what age should you be able to compete at full speed against your kids and his friends?

If he knew all of them closely and knew their personalities, I assume it could be ok. I remember when I was that age, I was super competitive and thrilled when I got to play any sports, even better if it was against adults. Granted, I wasn't there; but if it looked like everyone was having fun; no big deal

Until you pull a hammy or blow out your acl at half speed. Gotta show em who's boss early or they'll try to take over first chance they get.

The dad and son must have won 140-0... Just looked ridiculous for a grown man to be full speed against third graders.

my friends dad was our 5th and 6th grade basketball coach. he and his buddy played in the local men's league. they would run in practice against us since we only had 8 kids on the team,

they would fast break and dunk on us at every possible opportunity

pretty demoralizing

It worked for Sandusky.

My boss asked me to type up a detailed report of all of our development activity (I sell the business and help launch the retail stores). I have 10 candidates in the sales flow, 9 stores in pre-opening phase, 3 recently-opened (in the last month) and 3 more stores trying to sell/transfer ownership. On top of all that, there are 3 different legal compliance projects I'm working on with our attorney. So basically 24 projects open. He responds with 'Wow. I didn't realize you were that busy. Could you use an assistant?'

Things are looking up regarding the previous exchanges I had in this thread. He's seeing just how quickly we are growing and just how overwhelmed the staff is.

Suck it Abe!

By the way, West University is opening in the next month or so.
