GM's thread about nothing (64 Viewers)

I thought about nascent GMTAN a lot last week as I had a couple shart incidents. Ubfortunately I wasn't driving down the interstate or at work, so no good hook to those stories.

I'm lucky I've had the same doc for all 15 years I've lived here. (Aside to FDAS - 1st time seeing was chest pains, caused by stress, nothing serious. Hope the same for you.) Around day 3 he saw me without an appt. The next two days he returned my calls to answer stupid Qs.

Doc, it's day 4 of ####ting water. It turned black today.

"That's because your body isn't manufacturing any bile. Keep hydrating."

Thanks.

:oldunsure:

Doc, day 5 of vomiting. Stool turned albino.

"No bile. Feel free to call me tomorrow when it turns green."

It did. I didn't.

If this dermatologist says she wants to take a biopsy of my weiner, I'm going to freak the #### out.

So if you never hear from me again after Thursday, it's because I'm in a self-induced coma.

It's my wife and my anniversary today. I worked from home so I could take her to a doctor appointment in the afternoon, and my mom came down to watch the kids. She was feeling okay and on the way to the appointment we were actually talking about going out to dinner. But by the time we were there she had a full blown tear-inducing headache. Maybe it was the car ride with me.

So we stopped by the store on the way home and I bought a couple 2" bone-in ribeyes. Threw them on the grill, went inside for a few minutes, came back out and the grill was billowing black smoke. I opened the grill to a huge ball of flame, burnt some arm hair, the entire grill was on fire including the grease-catch pan underneath. Outside of steaks were close to scorched but not quite. I turned off all the burners and let everything calm down, then put the steaks on indirect heat for a few minutes.

Best ####ing steaks I've ever made.
Before I got my BGE (not throwing oil in porous ceramic) I'd actually dump olive oil on charcoal right below the steaks at the very end so it'd burn and get that little char.

I don't believe in hell but if I did, that stupid song where the girl whines over and over 'put up a parking lot' would play 24/7. What a god awful song.
Joni Mitchell?
Pretty sure he means the Counting Crows/Vanessa Carlton version from Two Weeks Notice.
Yeah what I heard wasn't Joni but what it was was musical diahrreha.

I've seen that method for charcoal, but what about gas. Same thing?

No idea. Weber kettles are pretty cheap though.

I just made a huge mistake in my chess game against Uni. I am in a massive slump.
:oldunsure:

Maybe I missed it. You failed to protect a pawn but I don't know if I'd call that a huge mistake?

Been on a hot streak lately. Need more games though. Anyone else still playing? Username is chasec.

If I had moved my bishop the other way I could have had a rook. One or the other. I'd take that trade off right now.

Things I learned today:

A. Shuke and I have the same anniversary.

ii. Prescriptions are for 3 months (12 weeks) but 3 month checkups are apparently scheduled for 3 months (calendar), hence my wife has been trying to soldier through a fibromyalgia flare up for a week and gradually getting more miserable. (Got a short term prescription filled today, so she should get more back to normal by the morning, but suffice it so say she had a ####ty day for our anniversary.)

!. Neither of us is getting any tonight, but Shuke had a steak dinner prepared by the Reds' arsonist bullpen.

(Happy Anniversary and best wishes, Shuke!)

A guy I used to work with recommends Colorado or Washington for fobromyalgia flare ups.

I wanted to like this, but then I thought I'd be a #### to like a post about your wife's headache.
So anyway, and totally unrelated, but can I "unlike" a post?

Oh ####, yeah. Totally missed that.

I've found that most games the loser comes down to whoever is drunkest. Not sure why Abe has so many losses.

Big win for our Hawks tonight.
WTF, traitor?
Huh?My NHL fandom at the moment:

1. Sabres

2. Hawks

3. Whatever team Ryan Miller plays on.

At this point, I'm like a parent with two kids playing against each other. But I've never been to St Louis and I can walk to Hawks games. More fun for me if they win but I want Miller to do well.

I owe Frosty a chess game. Mr. Pack too, I think. I'll get right on that...tomorrow. I took a Skelaxin and if I'm going to choose where I fall asleep, now is the time.

Yep. I always tell myself not to play after drinking. This is a great example.

Gimme that rook.

I pour the olive oil on the steak and let it drip

I was going to post something here about Jay Mohr not knowing that JJ Hardy no longer plays for the Brewers even though he hosts a sports radio talk show, but who really cares. That's not going to get me any closer to the vaunted 1000 likes mark.

Jay Mohr gets a lot of very basic sports stuff wrong. I like his show though.
