GM's thread about nothing (8 Viewers)

I'm probably going to be in Pittsburgh next week of anyone wants to grab a beer or twelve.
Where will you be staying?
Not certain yet. Business is out in Duquesne/McKeesport area but I'm going to look into staying closer to Pittsburg proper as I really only have to be out there for a few hours.
Pack your Kevlar.
Yeah, stay either in downtown or in Monroeville (closest areas to get to Duquesne/McKeesport) That's not a great area.

I live in Washington, PA about 25-30 miles southwest of downtown and work in Robinson Twp near the airport
I stayed in Monroeville last time. Never felt unsafe but there's nothing around there except a Primantis.Staying downtown this time and I'll have Thursday evening free if anyone wants to have a beer. Wish I was getting in early enough to go to the Pirates game but it's a 12:35 start.
There is a lot more in Monroeville than just Primanti's...Business Rt 22 is called 'The Miracle Mile' for all the shops and restaurants there.Where at in Dahntahn?

oh, and Monroeville isn't that bad....Duquesne and Mckeesport on the other hand, not so much
Doubletree. Don't send one hundred pizzas but if you want to send one hooker, that's cool.
Lots of good places to eat in the Strip District still isn't there?

WTF makes a parent gamble with their kid?!! We have a threat, probably nothing, but your kid's school might get shot up tomorrow so just in case it does happen, don't say when didn't tell you so.
People gamble with their kid every day they put them in a car, send them to school, feed them meat that might be overcooked, etc. It's about the assessment of the probability of that threat.
I taught my kids how to play blackjack.

I have a brand new single license of MS Office Professional 2013 that I'd be glad to sell at a "substantial" discount to anyone in here needing a copy. It's $400 at Amazon. If anyone is interested let me know and we can work something out.

This is also how I deal with carcinogens in my body. Soak in dark beer.
This is how I deal with most things lately.

Chigger bites on the junk? Stop raping the Spanish moss behind the gym. Problem solved. (Upon reflection, I'll bet that's the slogan for a sexual awareness campaing in some third world country. They distribute it by dropping leaflets from tall rock formations and just let the wind carry it where it may.)

I may have mentioned that I hired two sales reps a month ago. This is their 4th week. The one with 9 years of acquisition experience is making 40-80 calls a day...he can handle the grind. The one that is more talkative and "marketing focused" is wandering around the office wondering what processes we have in place for finding leads and "warming them up, you know." I finally walked to his desk, opened a browser to Google.com and said, "here is the lead generation engine we use." The other guy laughed and went back to dialing. Walkaround guy is now cornering our (ineffective) "Marketing Director" to ask about upcoming events and marketing plans.

does it happen to be anywhere near the copy of Dr. Sleep you were mailing me?

100 duck sized horses would eventually run you down and gently trample you. I honestly don't know how a horse sized duck would even attack. So I guess id fight the one big duck, unless there's some kind of super aggressive attack duck I don't know about, in which case a large flying animal with a killers mentality is obviouly more dangerous.

I think I could kick duck sized horses all day. It would take one peck from a horse sized duck to decapitate me. Ducks are #######s. Give me the 100 duck sized horses.

That's a fair question. Hang on, let me check.

The more I think about it, the more I don't believe that Bob didn't notice dickchiggers until days later
Bob's wang is definitely up to something.

Mrs. SLB very seriously asked where I asked I was sticking it. I replied "for the millionth time, do I seem happy or really ####### angry and irritated to you?"

Big fan of the "who DOESN'T do this thing I think is normal but is pretty much insane" schtick that's being tossed around Moops' Underwear thread. Pretty much the currency of the FFA.

eta: oh, and bob's schwantz too.

On the road in Dallas today. Did a phone interview for our writing opening, sat in on a couple calls related to marketing initiatives and did a presentation about our brand vision to the regional office staff. I also forgot to eat lunch which is probably why these martinis in the hotel bar taste so good.

Yesterday I had breakfast with the president of the local united way and a board member. I think my odds are pretty good for being on the board by the end of the summer.

I hope bob's pecker and everyone else's other parts are doing well.

Why are the horses fighting with me? Horses are usually pretty cool about stuff. Unlike ducks.
Ducks are mean, but I wonder if you've ever owned a horse. Those ####ers can flip a switch to crazy in a heartbeat. A duck going crazy most likely won't cripple or kill you - a horse doing the same will. Horses are Nature's poster children for Bipolar/ADHD/OCD.
