GM's thread about nothing (69 Viewers)

Direct tv sucking during the rain is ruining my day.
Drive down and get your phone? Bring family if you want. Going to bbq pork fajitas Under the patio
Hm...intriguing offer. Hm. I will text if we are going to make it. If not, I will drive down either tomorrow or Wednesday around lunch time (your choice).
Soooo...............are you guys dating now?Angrywife, the boys and I spent an hour or so driving around looking at houses for sale in Steiner Ranch this morning. Found a couple worth going back to check out.
Steiner is very nice. How would you get to work? I would think a west to east morning would suck as bad as north to south. 620 to 183 across town?
2222 all the way across town? Commute is the major downside out there. Also looking in Avery Ranch. Neighborhood isn't quite as appealing but drive is better.

Avery ranch <<<<<< Steiner.

House next door to me has a coming soon sign in front of it as of Saturday morning.

"Steve, these Mexican prostitutes have been with thousands of men, so when they tell you you're the best they've ever had...it's quite a compliment."

Mr. krista used his BGE for the first time yesterday. I think if it were legal in this state he would leave me and marry it.
I just got one too, love it. Use it constantly. Two briskets so far, one pizza, numerous steaks, and last night, bacon wrapped pineapple and stuffed jalapeños. Oh and two spatchcocked chickens. Those are fun.
I've read some of the BGE thread and saw you were really enjoying yours. I've tried to get Mr. krista to read that thread as there seems to be lots of good info in there. Any tips on pizza cooking on there?

I just purchased a tent. The closest to "camping" I've done as an adult was hiking the Milford Track in New Zealand, where I stayed in lodges in which the electricity was turned off at 10 p.m. But I just purchased a tent. :scared:

You'll like it. It's like a house you use more than once.

Lol. Just texted abe. I assume he won't see it until he gets back down to cosjobs place to get his phone.

Abe - agree on steiner vs avery. Going to a block party in nw hills with some friends so that's also a contender. If you are in town saturday morning and want to take your oldest along for a trip to a park, the childrens museum or a bar, the bentley boys are looking for fun.

Awesome! Planning to car camp or backpack?
Hold on...there are different types of camping?

OK, OK, I did at least know that. We were planning backpacking camps because there are some trails that we'd like to conquer but really can't be done as day hikes. When I was thinking about it, though, I'm not sure we're ready yet for lugging the tent, sleeping bags, cooking gear, etc., so we might start with some car camping. Are you a camper? Any tips are appreciated. Is there a camping thread around here somewhere I could read?

Search for "Man in the Yellow Hat"

Chicken thighs brined in water, salt, pineapple juice, coated in Cajun rub and smoked - winner.

Pork shoulder crusted with mustard and Cajun rub and smoked - super winner.

Yes, I got into backpacking and camping about 3 years ago so I do have some tips that may save you from making the same mistakes that I did. Let me think about it a bit and I'll shoot you a PM with some gear lists, websites, etc. It seems really daunting when you are first getting into it but it's not too bad once you know what's going on. Plus, like you said, you can get to some spots you'd never be able to get to without backpacking your way in.

You are fantastic--thank you so much! It is definitely a bit daunting right now.

What I like to do when camping is drink until I can't feel my extremities and then pass out wherever. And throw lots of #### in the camp fire.

:goodposting: and :lmao: at Tanner's post. That's what is SO painful about Scouts. Camping can be fun for one night as long as everyone is loaded. Booze of course is prohibited but I think I've gotten buzzed up on every one I've gone on. :bag:

The last time I camped I got so drunk that I tried to put out our campfire by peeing on it. I fell backwards from squatting position and burned the back of my right thigh something fierce.

So maybe leave the fire peeing to OH.

Would have paid at least $7 to see that.

Bring a black guy along. They always get killed first.
