GM's thread about nothing (28 Viewers)

Today was my 10th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately my sister in law and mother weren't on their best behavior at my daughters birthday last weekend and my wife has been upset since. Came home early from work to find my wife in tears and her bags packed yet again to "leave". Fml.
She's not leaving me. But about twice a year she flips out because of my family.
Where is she going? Your mother and your sister in law, not blood related did what now? Please unpack this if you feel so inclined.

And Thops

Did you know that when you schedule a taxi to pick you up in my town, the appointed time is "really just an estimation" and "in no way guaranteed."

Part my walk with the boys in the morning is up to around their school. There isn't a reason for this other than with all of the construction with the new highway, there isn't a lot of places to walk where I feel safe having them that close to the street. At the end of last year we got gift cards for all of their teachers and principal. Pretty standard for most if not all of you I'm guessing. It occurred to me when we were down at the lake that I forgot some really important people, the custodians. So I e-mailed the principal and told him I would like to buy them lunch, whatever they liked. Thankfully they made it easy on me and settled with Pizza Hut. I made sure there was enough where they would each have plenty to bring home as well. I'm not posting this as LOOK AT ME!!! as much as a PSA that you might want to remember the ones behind the scene that you never see at parent teacher conferences but are important. As somebody that worked in a dirty warehouse for many years, I remember well what it felt like to feel like a forgotten one.

Today when we were up there, a couple of the custodians were driving to the store I guess and spotted us. They pulled the car over and said hello to the boys, each by name, and my boys knew their name too. Then they both sincerely thanked me for lunch.

One of the best things to happen to me in awhile. I'm probably going to be really drunk the next 3-4 days so Beerhole® is coming JIT.
 The office staff and custodians really run the school. I learned that early on.
Eyes and ears of the institution.

So, the taxi's there are run by Time-Warner? Awesome.

(Of course, I don't even think this one-story 'burgh I live in has taxis anywhere other than the airport, so I guess I shouldn't cast stones.)

No way that Austin taxis go all the way out to the sticks.

We also had a bit of family drama last night. We are at the beach with Angrywife's family and I think she reached the point where she's had enough of them. Many f bombs were dropped last night.

Happy Anniversary!

This is a round rock unit of a large taxi service.

Brian here is very interested in the custodial arts.

Watching 12 Years A Slave. Who knew Emeka Okafor was such a good actor.
I know a gentleman of color who was working on that film during shooting in Louisiana as a crew member.

An actor who shall remain nameless but whose name rhymes with Sad Schmitt walked up to him and said "wow, you really look like a slave!"

TPW Abea and lady Dowling. My MIL has had my wife in angry tears lately. Sux.

I'm in Co Springs. Just took a sunrise hike through Garden of the Gods. Holy mother this place is gorgeous. Lots of military Jesus types and lots of scruffy old mountain hippy types. Cool area.

Mr. YSR went through there a couple of weeks ago and loved it. Said he'd probably go back once a week just to walk around if he lived there. Sounds awesome.

gllll today, Leeroy and Mrs. Jenkins
Thanks. She changed her mind and canceled the version. Before doing so she said it was as if I was trying to talk her into it. When I got home she felt she made a mistake canceling it and that I should have supported her in doing it. We talked it out and everything is good. No version today.

She is just scared of surgery and the aftermath being cloudy instead of enjoying the new guy.

George or Max now.

:lmao:
It's what we all say to him after about six drinks in a bar. "Wow, you really look like a slave today, Stephen."

Better than most of Manitou Springs IMO. Really enjoyed my time in the area. Walking around the grounds at the Broadmoor is nice too, but not quite the same.

Started riding the train to work this week. It's awesome.
We got free breakfast with our ticket. I had scrambled eggs, chicken apple sausage, bacon, grilled potatoes, a croissant, coffee and juice. SUCK IT AIRLINES!!

Picking thorn up from the airport! It's starting! :excited:
Can you text me as to where you guys will be tonight?

I'm going to try and get there. DaughterPack wants to go with me, so if Homer isn't going to be there, I might bring her along, unless that'll be a buzzkill....... Hell she drinks better than I do nowadays. :bag:

So DaughterPack wants to go with you to see a bunch of drunk weirdos from the internet? There better be a shot video with her singing while Thorn is dancing.
