GM's thread about nothing (27 Viewers)

Now that we all have an understanding of basic potato salad, I'd like to share a few advanced concepts.

Add pickle juice or pickled jalapeno juice. Do this before adding the mayo and it will infuse the potatoes with sweet, sour or heat, adding another layer of flavor. Be care to not add too much, you do not want it watery, but if you add when potatoes still hot, out of the water, you can add more since some will evaporate.

Adding some curry powder to the mayo before mixing it into the potatoes

I often use new/red or gold potatoes since I don't need to peel them.

stryker, we haven't tried the chorizo yet. We haven't been able to eat at home in ages. :(
No worries, just thought I'd ask. And to the casing question you had, he buys all natural casings. The "snap" is from essentially plastic casings.
X re plastic casings statement. Thanks again for the meat. :) :oldunsure:
:excited:  ;)
Btw, it's generally the natural casings that have the better "snap". Artificial can't get it quite right. I still thought they were delicious and wish I had one to eat right now.

I will do something (though apparently not what I thought) to make up for the meat. :)

Not worried about it at all. That was already overdue

Are they intestines?
Yes

same chorizo we had at beerhole? those were pretty epic.
Yes

Where are we ranking The Strokes' Is This It on the all-time album list?
Not sure, but pretty damn high.
This is currently my 4 year old daughter's favorite song.
When my son was an infant I used to play him all kinds of awesome music on Pandora.

At the moment I think this is his top selection, though.
:lmao: - this was the only song I knew that was called chicka-boom ...

Little limp used to go nuts in the happy hopper to Weezer's Blue Album.

Miss that, but now he's a bass player and I catch him playing 'Only In Dreams' and 'Say It Ain't So', so it stuck in his psyche.

Soccer was much better this week. Yuke wore his shinguards and participated in the whole practice. He refused to play in the game altogether, but at least he didn't cry about it. At this point, I think we have the makings of a pretty good squad as long as the coaches' kids stay off the field. The other kids seem to know what they're doing.

Our ref today was doing his first game and I thought he was going to have a breakdown. He kept telling me "this is so much harder than I thought it would be." After every goal, there's a stoppage in play of at least a couple minutes while the coaches try to rally three players from each team to stay on the field and pointed in the right direction.

I gave you a pass last week, but honestly this whole league sounds pretty remedial. WTF? It's not like soccer is all that complicated of a game, and I doubt they're calling offsides.

These kids are all 3 years old. It is pretty remedial.

I'm coaching 4-6 year olds and it's tough enough to get them all to pay attention to what's going on. I can't imagine 3-year olds.
