Podcasts get me through treadmill runs. I can get lost in Stuff You Should Know and not notice the time. Music doesn't work the same way because I know that, on average, a song is going to last for a half mile.

Starting doing podcasts but haven't moved off of sports or gambling ones yet. I will look into Stuff You Should Know. Can you do books on tape on a phone? I mean I'm sure you can but is it easy, free, and not stealing?

What are the good gambling podcasts?

BTW I think we're gonna get sports gambools legalized here pretty soon. Federal legislation (backed by at least two major sports leagues) has been introduced.

I don't know any yet. A buddy told me to try Millman's and I did but he's only been doing Super Bowl stuff since I started listening. If I find a good one, I'll let you know.

I don't know that such a site exists. Audible has them but it's subscription based.

I listen to Stuff You Should Know a lot. Also listen to Freakonomics, some NPR stuff and Stuff You Should Have Learned in History Class (which is a sister podcast to SYSK but isn't quite as good). I try to pick ones that are going to last longer than my time on the treadmill. For example, I listened to one on the history of the game Monopoly a couple days ago that was an hour long and pretty interesting. The ones on Lewis & Clark, Prohibition, the Donner Party, Fracking and the History of Pubs are a few of the best ones.

Cool. Thanks.

Pretty awesome. Just smashed the screen on my iPhone 5c. Any of you guys got an old one to sell me?
I have a plain ol' 5 I can give you for free when my new phone arrives tomorrow, but I don't know what a 5c is and if that would be too big a downgrade.
The 5c is the cheap version of the 5. Is yours from Att?Very generous of you
It is AT&T. I don't know how that stuff works. Does it being AT&T cause an issue or does that work?

Sharks, D&D, Roanoke, Rasputin, King Arthur, the Deep web (uni hi), Sea Monsters, and Online Gambling episodes. Sweet.

Pretty sure Amazon does some audio books as well.

If you like history, Dan Carlin's podcast called Hardcore History is really good. Those can run 3-4 hours but have a 3-4 month lead time in between

Neil deGrasse Tyson has one called Startalk Radio but I've been less than impressed with it.

Used to listen to this quite a bit. He kind of wore me down, though. It always seemed like it was fan fiction more than actual history. His love of Churchill was borderline unhealthy.

I'm new to him so I've only heard the latest WWI podcasts called "Blueprint for Armageddon" that could even reference Churchill. He quotes him quite a bit but I didn't think it was egregious. Maybe I'll feel different after Ghosts of the Osfront which I'll probably get into after Death Throes of the Republic or Punic Nightmares

I do kind get annoyed with his "quote voice" after a while but the content has normally been interesting at least.

I actually have At&T. Sometimes, not sure if its still the case, but a Verizon iPhone can't be used under AT&T or some crap.

Cool. If you can use the phone, just send me your address. I will mail it myself (stryker knows why I just said that). Was going to sell it, but this is much easier instead. I need to figure out how I get all my crap off it first.

Back to AC/DC chat

Just relieved a text from a friend about them playing Wrigley Field this summer and wondering if I'd want to go.

While I cant think of an AC/DC song that I truly dislike, I couldn't imagine sitting through 2 straight hours of them.

You're the best, are you sure you don't want anything in return? I have a jar of belly button lint I around here somewhere.

You'll have to unlock it first before you add your SIM card and use it. The request can be made directly to AT&T. Usually takes a day or two. You then wipe it to factory defaults and it will indicate it is unlocked after that. HTHETA: I have a 5 I use as a Logitech Harmony remote right, but really have no need for because I use my 6 and iPad to accomplish the same thing so if this doesn't work out, you can have it.

I don't care about the apple vs android beef... but do iphone screens still break this frequently? my samsung has been dragged to hell and back by a 3yo and her klutzy 7yo brother.

My iPhone screen only cracked when it got driven over by a car. And the touch-screen still worked afterward, so the 4s at least seems pretty tough.

I've cracked 2-3 iPhone screens. I could drop it over 10' and it's usually fine, but I'll be dammed if it falls out of my pocket while seated at a Bulls game.
