Hail to the Redskins! (3 Viewers)

As a life long Skins fan, here's hoping they can come with the same intensity next week against the Giants.
All game long Joe Bugel was yelling at the offensive linemen "It's not enough! It's not enough!"

You know, this Redskins-Cowboys thing could probably become a pretty good rivalry if Dallas could ever win one. It's not really a rivalry when it's so one-sided.

Relax killer. You still need to win another 20 or 30 straight just to even up the series.I was there. The skins whipped us badly. That is easily the loudest I have ever seen that stadium. They did a good job of getting the fans loud early with some enormous slob screaming for the 12th man.

I've been to Texas stadium, and I have traveled all over the US, but I have never seen so many hillbillies in my entire life all collected in one place, wearing the usual camo and maroon, sporting Marlboros, Budwiesers, and drooling from the mouth.

Oh and #### Snyder and his $7 beers.

I was there too  I've been to 17 different NFL stadiums over the last 30 or so years, and that was the loudest game I've ever been to. Absolute dominance by both the offensive and defensive lines of the Redskins. Philip Daniels looked like Reggie out there  Losing Randy Thomas will hurt, but give big Ray Brown a week to work out the kinks from his old bones and he will be just fine. If I had to guess I would say that they will be resigning my old buddy Lennie Friedman to back up the interior of the line.

Were you the cowpuke fan that was caught sleeping on TV??? Glad you enjoyed your visit at Fed Ex, I'm sure you enjoyed the traffic and the drive home even better. :D

Darrell Armstrong(of the Dallas Mavericks) got on the loud speaker before their game and shouted "How bout them Redskins?"Cost him a $1000 fine and I'm sure hes no crowd favorite anymore, but man thats awesome!

Yeah, I can't stand that guy. Every game, they say, "Ladies and gentlemen, Chris Paul!!!" And I'm like, "Who?" Then he gets up there and yells and screams and most fans just roll their eyes. We don't need a freakin' fan motivator before a game like that. Having "We Want Dallas" choreographed (not sure if that's the right word) before the game was lame. Those types of things are cool when they just happen on their own.
Oh and #### Snyder and his $7 beers.
I would say, "Then, just don't drink," but I'm guessing you needed a few. :banned:

Unlike Torren Tucker, I wasn't alseep. Unlike most Redskin fans, I stayed to the very end, even in such defeat. What traffic son? It's all about being aggressive. The people who have a hard time getting out of parking lots can't drive. I live in Silver Spring, and I was home in 30 minutes from the time I got into my truck.

I made it out to Centreville in about an hour driving time. (I stopped for dinner, so it really took me about 1:30-1:45 to get home.) But, I don't have a parking pass and I don't park at the stadium. If the Redskins ever offer me a parking pass, I'll probably turn it down.

Sorry your visit to the stadium wasn't friendlier, Prime. But then again, no, I'm not. :) I think with the 2 Skins wins this year and with both teams being fairly good we finally have a good old Redskin-Cowboy rivalry again. I hope it continues for years to come.

Maybe you should get better seats.

You may be right. I was in row one. You can't see anything because the damn camra men stand right in front of you. When you stand up so you can try to see, everybody behind you can't see.

Washington: vs NYG, at Philly

Dallas: at Carolina, vs StL

Atl: at TB, vs Car

Min: at Balt, vs Chi
Expected wins:Wash: 0.4 + 0.7 = 1.1

Dallas: 0.3+ 0.8 = 1.1

Atl: 0.4 + 0.4 = 0.8

Min: 0.6 + 0.4 = 1.0

With brutal schedules all around, odds of winning two of two are slim for each team. So the Redskins would only need one win to make the playoffs.

Not sure if I understand this completely, but does that mean the Skins only have a 40% chance of beating NYG? If so, where did you get that? The line I posted last week from Sportsbook had the Skins favored.

Just being a little pessimistic, I guess -- Giants have looked very impressive lately. OK, let's make that a 0.5 and give Washington 1.2 expected wins. Either way, it's the same point -- the Skins probably only need one win out of two.

OH ok...no problem man. I just didn't know that you were giving your own opinion and not the official line.

The Skins can still make the playoffs if they go 9-7 if the following happen:Atlanta loses to either Tampa Bay or Carolina Dallas loses to either Carolina OR St. Louis Minnesota loses to either Baltimore OR Chicago All these could be possible. I'd rather the Skins just take care of business and win out.

Update:The Redskins opened at 3 pt favorites over the Giants. The week 17 line still isn't out yet at Sportsbook.

Wide receiver Santana Moss and left tackle Chris Samuels have earned trips to the 2006 Pro Bowl, the Redskins announced on Wednesday.

For Moss, it is his first Pro Bowl nod; for Samuels, it is his third.

Tune in to Redskins.com later this afternoon for reaction and more from Redskins Park.

In addition, running back Clinton Portis and H-back Chris Cooley (listed among fullbacks) are first alternates and safety Sean Taylor and linebacker Marcus Washington are second alternates. In the case of injuries to Pro Bowl starters or reserves at their positions, these players still could earn a trip to Hawaii.

Rather surprising is the omission of any Redskins' defensive player--particularly Washington, cornerback Shawn Springs and Taylor--from the Pro Bowl squad. The Redskins have the NFL's eighth-ranked defense.

Santana Moss

Moss, a fifth-year player who arrived in Washington last offseason in a trade, has emerged as one of the NFL's top-flight receivers this season. His speed makes him a legitimate deep ball threat and gives him the ability to turn short passes into long gains.

To this point, Moss's two fourth-quarter touchdowns to help beat the Dallas Cowboys 14-13 in Week 2 were his signature moments of the 2005 season. He also had a 30-yard catch in overtime to help beat Seattle and a memorable 78-yard touchdown on a wide receiver screen pass in Week 6 against Kansas City.

For the season, Moss has 75 catches for 1,240 yards and six touchdowns. His 16.5 yards-per-catch average is second-best among NFC wide receivers with more than 40 catches. His reception total is 10th-best in the league and fifth-best in the NFC and his receiving yards total is third-best in the league and second-best in the NFC.

Chris Samuels

Samuels, in his sixth NFL season, has started all 14 games so far this season and provided strong blocking in the run game and in pass protection. He has previously made the Pro Bowl in 2001 and 2002.

The 6-5, 310-pounder has helped running back Clinton Portis rush for 1,296 yards and eight touchdowns this season. Overall, the Redskins have rushed for 1,876 yards, seventh-best in the NFL.

On Moss's 78-yard touchdown catch-and-run in Kansas City, it was Samuels who leveled a key block to help spring Moss on the wide receiver screen.

Samuels may have turned in his best performance of the season last Sunday against Dallas. He was among the most excited players during pre-game, encouraging his teammates and firing up fans in the stands.

In the game, Samuels shut down pass rusher DeMarcus Ware, limiting him to just two tackles, and helped open holes for a Redskins ground game that compiled 171 rushing yards.

The NFL's best will meet in Hawaii on Sunday, Feb. 12, for the 2006 Pro Bowl. The game will be broadcast on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. ET.

If they win today, then I think the chances of them winning out are rather good. I mean Philly is not that great right now, home or not.

Absolutely huge game today! If I didn't have Xmas dinner with family, I think I'd try to go to it.
Same here.. I had a few chances to buy tix but it's too tough to swing it with all the xmas events. Sounds like 90k made it out there, though

21-17 Skins at the half.Skins are playing very well imo. A couple of unfortunate breaks have hurt them. This easily could be 21-6 right now. Very nervous.

Yeah, you can't let a team hang around when you're clearly dominating. I'd like to see a long, sustained drive to start the second half.

3 and out. giants with great field position. Brunell hurt, Ramsey warming up. :wall:

Looks like Atlanta might pull it out in Tampa.. that's not preferable.
I'm not sure who to root for. While the safe bet is to root for Atl, Min, and Dallas to lose, if Carolina, Chicago, NYG, and TB lose out(I know thats not likely), the Skins could be the #2 seed and get a first round bye. Carolina and NYG lost today. If Atlanta beats TB, then all we need is Chicago to lose at GB and we're still in contention for the bye.

Joe Gibbs is the man
:pickle: That was a more impressive win than vs. the Cowboys last week. Dallas was just off their game, and had no response after they were punched in the mouth early. The Giants, OTOH, weren't beaten until they missed that 4th down conversion in the 4th quarter - it was a dog fight up until then.

I'm the happiest I've been as a 'Skins fan for years. :D

Atlanta loses(TB wins) so forget about a bye now. Dallas with a surprsing win today. they play at home vs St Louis next week, and I'm definitely most concerned with them.

Atlanta eliminated. I believe a Minnesota loss tomorrow clinches the playoffs for the Skins.. go Ravens!Edit - actually, Dallas could still spoil it.. oh well, a Minny loss would still be nice
