Has anyone run a private FFTOC league? (1 Viewer)

I've checked out the website for FFTOC, but wondering who can give me some tips, pointers in running a private league. For 2006 season, I'd like to start up a FFTOC format league with around 16-20 co-workers, family and friends. Here are some of the main questions I had:

1) How much does the website/software fees cost?

2) Does the website accurately keep track for the owners which players they've used already?

3) What are some good pay-out methods?

4) Do you get real-time scoring updates or do you have to wait later for info?

Any other pointers or info. would be nice to know as well.

Thanks!

1) How much does the website/software fees cost?
To run it on myfantasyleague.com, it would be about $70. Cheaper the second year as you get a returning league discount.
2) Does the website accurately keep track for the owners which players they've used already?
I've never done one there, but I imagine so. They have the following option for starting lineups:A player can only be on a franchise's starting lineup: ___ times per season. Hint: Only enter a number into this field if your league uses "contest" lineup submission rules, whereby any NFL player can be started (not just players on a roster) by any franchise.
3) What are some good pay-out methods?
Dunno, I dislike money leagues. I'll just recommend that you not let anyone set a lineup who hasn't paid in advance.
4) Do you get real-time scoring updates or do you have to wait later for info?
Yes, there is real time scoring. Available via cell phone as well.Any other pointers or info. would be nice to know as well.

Hi Captain, thanks for your interest in the FFTOC and MyFFTOC.

1) How much does the website/software fees cost?

The software is $33.95. Unlike others, MyFFTOC was designed strictly for “Start Them Once” (i.e.: Tournament-Style) play.

But, before signing up for $33.95, hang in. We’re going to be rolling out some very exciting options this year. We have some big news coming soon!

2) Does the website accurately keep track for the owners which players they've used already?

Yes, it does. It also computes some cool stats for all the managers in your MyFFTOC league and much more. Plus, if you stay with the FFTOC default scoring rules, you can see how you would be doing in the FFTOC big-money events.

4) Do you get real-time scoring updates or do you have to wait later for info?

See your MyFFTOC Sunday Player Roundup report, you’ll get three updates each Sunday.

Any other pointers or info would be nice to know as well.

Here is some more on MyFFTOC…

We ran a private FFTOC style league for the staff using the MyFFTOC software. It worked great.

Winner was the high score after 16 weeks.

Thanks for the input guys..at only $33.95...thats a great price for the web-service/software. If I get 20 guys together thats less than $2 per person. I'll check out the websites attached to look more into it.
