Have other players dominated Week 16 like DeAWilliams did this year?

I don't recall a Week 16 where a single player affected the outcome of so many games.

Teams Winning the SuperBowl with DWill...do they deserve an * ?I don't recall a Week 16 where a single player affected the outcome of so many games.
whats your point? i have Westy. should i get an asterisk for my win when he had a similar week?i lost in one of my champ. games due to DWill. thats how it goes.

DeAngelo's had a great season and carried many teams all year long, not just one week. Why would you taint a championship won by his owner because of his help?

How about losing a championship because of Vishante Shiancoe? Maybe that can draw the *. J/K of course.

what?

where exactly would that asterisk go? the official fantasy football history books?

Yes, and next to the asterice place a note stating that said owner won the championship due to keen insight into good football players and ability to draft impact players. Come to think of it, I should place those asterices next to players who have used Emmit Smith, LT, Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Larry Johnson, Priest Holmes, Marshall Faulk, etc.

I needed 9 points...he got me 38. Do I still deserve an Asterisk for a RB getting me more than the 9 points I needed?

Man I cant get enough of Deangelo Williams threads.

Deangelo, if youre reading this, Im forever indebted to you...

 I beat the team that had Williams in my championship. Why should they get an asterisk? Because you didn't have as good a team? Gimme a break. Build a better team, and you win.

I like this, the * behind the team's name to show how many championships. Kind of like stickers on a college football helmet.

6/10

It got a lot of people to bite.

But on a more serious note... If I get an asterisk for my DWill championship, so do the 2006 LT2 championship winners.

Pretty funny stuff here, but this is really what I was looking for...players that totally dominated week 16 games. The * seems to always get people riled up...sorry if anyone is offended.

To answer some questions: I'm not a rookie and I did not lose in either of my SuperBowls (played DWill in one of them). But, I have read a TON of threads where games were almost completely decided by DWill and there are entire blogs dedicated to guys who lost to DWill. Just seemed like a fairly unique circumstance.

To answer another question: DWill did not have a great early season. He has been exceptional the last 10 games or so, but either did not get carries or was not effective in the early games (not sure about carries or YPC). Here's a quick snapshot:

Week 1: 90 total yards @SD

Week 2: 25 total yards vCHI

Week 3: 44 total yards @MIN

Week 4: 66 total yards vATL

Week 5: 148 total yards, 3TDs vKC

Week 6: 35 total yards @TB

Then, the historic run began....

Week 7: 70 total yards, 1 TD vNO

Week 8: 123 total yards, 1 TD vARI

Week 9: BYE

Week 10: 143 total yards, 1 TD @OAK

Week 11: 120 total yards, 2 TD vDET

Week 12: 121 total yards, 1TD, 1 2pt @ATL

Week 13: 76 total yards, 4 TD @GB

Week 14: 192 total yards, 2 TD vTB

Week 15: 91 total yards, 1 TD vDEN

Week 16: 108 rush yards, 4 TDs @NYG

Two years ago Landell Betts and Tiki Barber exploded on the Thursday night game. I think combined they had like 450 total yards and 6 TDs.

Dec 22, 2002Week 16NYG @ INDAmani Toomer: 10 rec ; 204 yds; 3 TDS48.4 pts in my ppr leagueCruised to a title that year
I got beat by the Great Amani Toomer on this day. We play till week 17 and this started a streak of 4 straight years being beat in week 16. I blame Toomer for my poor playoff record, he blew up on me and I seem to have never recovered from it.

DeA. Williams this season- 24CAR-108YDS 4TD 44PTS

Steven Jackson 2 years ago- 33CAR-150YDS 1TD 6REC-102YDS 1TD 1F 55PTS

Julius Jones 3 years ago- J. Jones 34CAR-192YDS 2TD 2REC-17YDS 42PTS

And those are just 2 of the running backs that had huge scores. I Saw at least 10 other players that outscored Williams' score from this past week.

I realize this isn't the only way to measure impact, but if you define a player's week 16 VBD to be the difference between his fantasy points and the fantasy points of the #12 player at his position for that week, Williams ranks as (tied for) the 17th-most-valuable week 16 performance since 1995:

Code:
+-------------------+------+-------+-------+| player			| year | FPT   | VBD   |+-------------------+------+-------+-------+| Jerry Rice		| 1995 | 47.90 | 31.70 || Eddie Kennison	| 1996 | 40.60 | 27.80 || Marc Bulger	   | 2006 | 42.10 | 26.25 || Marshall Faulk	| 2001 | 40.50 | 25.30 || Daunte Culpepper  | 2000 | 39.95 | 25.05 || Amani Toomer	  | 2002 | 38.40 | 24.60 || Steve McNair	  | 1999 | 42.95 | 23.70 || Terrell Owens	 | 2000 | 34.80 | 23.60 || Antonio Freeman   | 1998 | 36.60 | 23.50 || Ken Dilger		| 1997 | 28.00 | 23.20 || Kerry Collins	 | 2002 | 38.00 | 21.40 || Steven Jackson	| 2006 | 37.20 | 20.50 || Warrick Dunn	  | 2000 | 37.80 | 20.20 || Brett Favre	   | 2003 | 39.95 | 19.50 || Tony Gonzalez	 | 2004 | 24.40 | 19.40 || Onterrio Smith	| 2003 | 36.30 | 18.90 || DeAngelo Williams | 2008 | 34.80 | 18.50 || Visanthe Shiancoe | 2008 | 25.60 | 18.50 || Steve Young	   | 1995 | 39.05 | 18.30 || Santana Moss	  | 2005 | 34.00 | 17.90 |+-------------------+------+-------+-------+
If you look at fantasy points ahead of the #2 guy at his position, the story is similar:
Code:
+-------------------+------+-------+-------+| player			| year | FPT   | VBD   |+-------------------+------+-------+-------+| Jerry Rice		| 1995 | 47.90 | 19.10 || Tony Gonzalez	 | 2004 | 24.40 | 13.50 || Marshall Faulk	| 2001 | 40.50 | 13.50 || Ken Dilger		| 1997 | 28.00 | 13.10 || Eddie Kennison	| 1996 | 40.60 | 12.30 || Amani Toomer	  | 2002 | 38.40 | 12.00 || Santana Moss	  | 2005 | 34.00 | 11.70 || Terrell Owens	 | 2000 | 34.80 | 11.20 || Marc Bulger	   | 2006 | 42.10 | 10.85 || Brett Favre	   | 2003 | 39.95 | 10.55 || Antonio Freeman   | 1997 | 28.60 | 10.20 || Visanthe Shiancoe | 2008 | 25.60 |  8.90 || Daunte Culpepper  | 2000 | 39.95 |  8.25 || Steven Jackson	| 2006 | 37.20 |  8.00 || Torry Holt		| 2001 | 32.30 |  7.60 || DeAngelo Williams | 2008 | 34.80 |  7.60 || Ben Coates		| 1995 | 20.30 |  7.10 || Anquan Boldin	 | 2007 | 28.20 |  7.00 || Kerry Collins	 | 2002 | 38.00 |  6.85 || Jim Harbaugh	  | 1997 | 34.65 |  6.15 |+-------------------+------+-------+-------+
