I missed the hard core.Must be the HBOGO people were talking about.Fan of the books forever. Don't have HBO but on vacay and watched an episode. Was good and then hard core porn out of the blue. Is this normal for this series?

Turrible Grammar and spelling are my curse unfortunately'kupcho1 said:For Christ's sake, you're named after CHEESE, you should know it's grating.I read the books after season one so it's a totally different perspective for me this season. I find myself being more critical of some of the choices they made be it casting(Some mentioned above)or story related(see below). Also in some instances it seemed less "real" and more like people reading lines to me(Sansa especially).
The story for example, I though Maester Cressen should have had a little more back story. They didn't get across how important he was to Stanis, it would have given more weight to his sacrifice. Also thought the Roz part came off as very cheesy. Osha's constant head tilting when she talks is making her character a bit grading to watch.
Mostly just nit picky stuff, it was still very good, just interesting how the perspective totally changed.

There's tons of sex in the books, why would the tv series be any different?Fan of the books forever. Don't have HBO but on vacay and watched an episode. Was good and then hard core porn out of the blue. Is this normal for this series?

Truth. HBO execs know their audience. I've just never watched an HBO TV series before. But from the sounds of it this is the norm for them. The norm being to have a lot of sex and if it's not there to add some and if it is there to make it "better".:(Yes, there is a lot of simulated sex from many positions and between all manner of people.I wouldn't know. It's hard to call simulated sex hardcore. Dontos is the last surviving member of his family, and worked his way up to knighthood. But he got fat and drunk.Melee and jousting tournaments are common as part of celebrations. Can someone explain to me the opening scene with the fat 'knight'? I am not getting why he is a knight to begin with and then why he would be in a 'tournament' of whatever sorts it was for the 'name day'. The best guess I can come up with is that he bought the title as being from a wealthy house and then the 'king' demanded everyone to send a representative to fight in his personal tournament. How off am I?
Yes, but aren't they normally voluntary? doneHaven't read any of this thread, but wife and I are all caught up on the series. Can someone PM me and let me know if the conversation in here is for those who have read the books and spoilers are being revealed, or is it just for the TV show and spoilers are in tags? Thanks.
In the book, all the decent knights are off fighting in the war. The Hound does not take part because there is no competition. This is a shabby minor league tournament but the Hand's Tourney in Season 1 was poorly done so the difference is not apparent.Yes, but aren't they normally voluntary? I can't imagine how anyone has enough time in the day to read these books.Even if you do have the time, it must be quite a task to let the pages sink in. It's hard enough to remember all the characters on TV.Haven't read any of this thread, but wife and I are all caught up on the series. EasternWhat time is the show on HBO tonight?
The book is actually structured such that you can remember the characters pretty easily. Every chapter is named after the POV of the character in the chapter so it isn't like a Hobbit type introduction with 5000 dwarves with similarly sounding names.I can't imagine how anyone has enough time in the day to read these books.Even if you do have the time, it must be quite a task to let the pages sink in. The king beyond the wall and the white walkers are separate issues.Sounds like the Greyjoys are going back after the North. There's also the mysterious king north of the wall and his army's been swelling from stealing Crasters sons. Lots to keep track of.
