Tax the NFL at 90%.Like I said, that post validates what Hartman was saying.i'd imagine much of that is the same for majority of the teams in their respective cities, bob. $$$
Nothing to do with my point though about the celebration by those that lean strongly left and would be screaming bloody murder, and rightfully so, if this were the Koch brothers instead of the NFL.
How many people saw that game, 3?The Dons were the first professional football team to play a regular season game in Los Angeles, beating the rival Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League by two weeks.
http://articles.latimes.com/2006/sep/13/sports/sp-dons13Two weeks before the transplanted Rams kicked off their first season in their new home after moving from Cleveland, the Dons defeated the Brooklyn Dodgers, 20-14, in front of a Friday-night crowd of 18,995 at the Coliseum.
In 1947, the Dons drew a then-pro-record 82,576 to the Coliseum for a game against the New York Yankees, and in 1948 they outdrew every NFL team.
I'm aiming for the Panthers game.Well, I'm going to go to at least one game next year. But I'm going to drive to Long Beach (about 10 minutes from my house), park my car for the day, and take the metro rail all the way to the Coliseum- it's about a 45 minute ride.

Which team are you hoping to see visiting?Well, I'm going to go to at least one game next year.
I guess he does. I'd of course never say Indianapolis is as cool of a city as New Orleans but to insinuate we're worse than Cleveland seems kind of harsh.Sounds to me like he really, really hates Indy. Why is that? The Browns should go to Indy. Indy deserves the New Browns.
Dont K know yet. Just looking forward to seeing an NFL game. San Diego is really an effort to go to.Which team are you hoping to see visiting?Well, I'm going to go to at least one game next year.
STL architectural firm proposes MLS stadium by Union Station to create "Greatest Sports Street In America"Big Red were in St. Louis a little longer than the Rams, but it is eerie how similar the circumstances of their moves are. Both teams were mired in mediocrity for so long and both played in subpar stadiums (Busch was no one's idea of an ideal football stadium). It's fascinating. When the football Cardinals left STL, the Bidwells built up so much animosity in the city, the citizenry was practically shoving them out the door when they threatened to move to Phoenix. Now that club had nowhere near the success the Rams had in STL (IIRC, the Gridbirds didn't win a playoff game their entire stay in STL) and there was nowhere near as much money at stake, but I don't recall a huge citywide effort to keep them.Being a native St. Louisan who fondly remembers the Greatest Show on Turf days, my anger over Kroenke butt-f*cking the city went away pretty damn quickly, actually. Since Kroenke took majority ownership, he left the fans feeling cold on the field and away from it. When you look at it, he essentially took the plot from Major League and made it work for him: demoralizing the fanbase and sucking enough to the point where a move to a nice stadium in a warm place would be do-able. Hell, he hatcheted the market so much, even Mayor Francis Slay doesn't even want the NFL anymore.
Fine. Whatever. More money and fandom for the Cardinals and Blues. Plus maybe the MLS will give St. Louis a strong look now. The Sounders took off after the Supersonics left in Seattle and St. Louis has always been soccer-crazy.
Plus, before the Rams even came to St. Louis, I was a Packers fan and they're always on free national TV, so I'm back with the Pack I guess.
I could see MLS thriving in STL. Huge youth club sport. When I was a kid the MISL team, the Steamers, outdrew the Blues in the same building for a few years.
I have fond memories growing up before the Rams were even a thought to come here of Daryl Doran and the St. Louis Ambush playing games in the old Barn as well as in the early days of the Kiel/Scottrade Center. Fun times. St. Louis really is a soccer crazy town. My stepmom's family is nuts about U.S. soccer and couldn't care less if I bring up English Premier League or any other soccer. You put a stadium in the burbs (Fenton would be ideal if the Meremac didn't flood so much) and you have a winner on your hands.
Train ride with booze. Trolley to stadium. Just as easy and you aren't in fear for your life for most of the train ride.Dont K know yet. Just looking forward to seeing an NFL game. The idea, he said, is to build a “town center” of sorts, with retail, office space, entertainment and sports venues — yes, perhaps even a Major League Soccer stadium.
One could say that you just lent them to St. Louis for a few years.Aerial Assault said:Yeah, he's a hypocrite of the first order.
I am pleased that we are getting a team here, but sad for St. Louis and its fans that it had to be at their expense.

What's sadder is apparently Kroenke and his partner don't think they'll have an issue getting the financing despite Kroenke whipping out his #### and pissing on the city not even a month ago.St. Louis Bob said:1/6/16
The St. Louis region is losing population and lags in economic drivers to such a degree that it cannot support three professional sports teams, St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke told the National Football League in his proposal to move to Los Angeles.

Got it, use to take that to work when it first opened and it seemed safe enough and actually was better than driving into Hollywood (through Union Station), but back then they had a lot more security since it was new. Haven't been on it for years. Besides, if you read the local news only people too dumb to see the train coming are susceptible to deaths on these tracks, so if you're on the train I think you're safe.LA.
