High pitched noise (1 Viewer)

I'll be real honest, as much as I want you to find the noise, I also don't want the images of you doing the robot dance while your coworkers quietly talk amongst themselves about how you've clearly lost your mind to stop.
They'll be other things for them to laugh at. Just ask the President of the largest oil drilling company in the world who watched me play with my pen, as I pretended it was a rocket ship being sent in to outer space. Sadly, they never returned. RIP Pen Rocket astronauts. You were true American heroes. :(

Hmm... That was oddly very close to my life.

Go into your office early, when no one is there. Turn everything off, especially the lights. Turn things on one at a time. You'll find it.

Or it's the emergency light. That would suck.
Couple of issues there:

The office in my section has about 100 cubicles that all have at least a computer and two monitors on them. There are also fans and lights everywhere.

But most importantly, who the hell gets to work early?
People who don't have to listen to a horrible high-pitched whine for the rest of their working lives.

Pfft. Suckers.

I just remembered my friend Pat. Pat would very quietly and discretely say "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" every time he went in car, or sat down anywhere with friends. didn't matter how many times he did it, one of us morons would always start looking around for the horrible, but barely discernible squeak whitenoise producer.

####### Pat.

The power went off for about 30 seconds this morning and the noise stopped. When the power came back on, the noise came back. If nothing else, at least that let's me know it's definitely not in my head. :tinfoilhat:

Just happened again and when I stood up, the guy next to me said, "Did you just hear that high pitched noise?" We both were fairly certain we heard it from the same direction. He said it sounded like one something from a florescent light bulb. I'm going to take his word for it.

You should have looked at him crazy and said you didn't hear a thing, but left just a shred of doubt in his mind that you werent telling him the truth.
