I don't like hot food. Otherwise I'll eat anything that tastes good. I don't see the difference between cow muscle or chicken muscle and rattlesnake balls or whatever.
Snake meat tastes like chicken. I did not try the venom vodka though. :chicken:
Ew! Reptiles, insects and amphibians are a definite hell no! :X Unless I'm tricked into trying it like I was when I was told lamb brains was fish...
I had cow brains but not lamb brains. Frog also tastes like chicken and snails are great with herb butter. I am sure you will have no problem swallowing turtle soup. It's all in your mind.

Yes. And that is the problem, it is on my mind....... with a big banner that says hell no! :yucky:

I'll try a lot of stuff. Recently had bun bo hue with the chunk of coagulated blood. Have eaten chapulines but would probably avoid live insects and most dong-centric dishes.
I tried coagulated duck and pig's blood before. One tasted more metallic but the other was okay. I forgot which was which.
You're an 11 with this doozy... As far as I could tell, all they do in Iran is toss the organs in a pot of water, add salt and pepper to taste. I'm sure it could be spruced up with proper seasonings but that's how they traditionally do it there.
Blood sausages are common in Germany. Organ meats are used in many traditional dishes in Europe when peasants have to maximize how they use animals for food. Today we don't see them in restaurant menus because people think they are unsanitary or have high cholesterol.

8 - I can't get into some offal like brains, hearts, kidneys (ok with others like liver and tripe) and bizarre seafoods.
no chance you are an 8....i went 7 because i have had all of these but have no interest in insect, lips and ### (although i have tried chicken butts), etc.

10.

I've had eyeball, I like durian, nato is OK, I don't like bitter melon but have eaten it plenty of times. I tried sea squirt at a Korean restaurant recently; gross. Geoduck and sea cucumber are commonplace. I could name a lot more if I think hard enough. Haven't had a chance to try stinky tofu yet.

Yes, I decline some food items because of the amount of cholesterol or highly carcinogenic.

After reading some of the crap you guys have eaten, I think I need to lower my rating to a 6.

I've had pet tortoises and aquatic turtles as a kid. The idea of turtle soup makes me really sad. Watching that girl on the Walking Dead eat the box turtle was worse than any zombie scene.

I am very adventurous and will go out of my way to try new things. I love trying new foods and IMO food is the best way to experience a culture. I voted 9 because I can't say I will eat literally anything. Live insects, for example, I probably wouldn't eat unless it was a survival situation.

I was tricked into eating dog stew once. You must tell your hosts what you really will not eat and be very suspicious if they refuse to tell you what they are serving before you try it.

Natto is the Japaneses' secret to longevity. You can smell the stinky tofu vendor from several blocks away but it actually tastes like regular fried tofu.

This is my feeling as well. When I was in the Philippines earlier this year, I tried anything they offered me. Balut, tongue, I even had Eggs Benedict with Sardines. Surprisingly good.

I voted 10 thinking I've eaten snake, guinea pig, and some other adventurous stuff, but I need to take that down to a 6 or 7 after reading the replies.

I don't think I will like the taste of Balut. How was it?

I had to go with an 8. I'm willing to try almost anything.. BUT... I friggin hate olives. Nasty ### disgusting bitter pills from Satan. Probably should have voted 7 based on my absolute hate for olives, but I'm willing to try just about anything else.

overrated, but edible

#### eating bugs and whole fish. Disgusting. I've tried it but hated it and would never do it if not peer pressured into it. Put me down as a 5. More dandelion juice for everyone else!

You have to like everything, just be willing to try.

Exactly. The thread is about the willingness to try foods you haven't tried before, no matter how weird it may sound.

Yea I need to bring mine down too. Not willing to eat pigs blood and cow shiit like some of you are apparently.

so my thing brohans is that i will try just about anything but not wierds parts of anything like i will eat frog legs because hey it is just muscle but i would not eat frogs eyes just like i would not eat cow eyes so i do not know where that puts me but that is where i am and when you get there that is where i will be take that to the bank brohans

8. I won't try some of the more raunchy things out there, especially when it comes to fermented stuff. Odor is what will set me off more than anything. You could lay the nastiest pile of guts in front of me and if it smells good, I'll try it.

What has surprised me most is hearing some of you saying this would have a big impact on your marriage.

My wife not willing to eat orangutan balls doesn't bother me at all but sounds like it could be a deal breaker for some of you?

Can anyone that mentioned their spouse shed some light?

The people that really complained are the ones who said their wives are about a 2/10. That means they have the palate of a toddler, basically.

#### that ####.

And I also need to throttle back from voting myself an 8 to about a 7, based on some of the comments from other folks.

I like stinky cheeses, some offal, raw oysters, etc.. I like really spicy foods too.

But I don't think I could handle some of the really nasty stuff they eat in China, etc.

I don't think that is a 7 that sounds more like you are European

Yeah, I don't think it's a deal breaker, but it would be obnoxious to eat easy mac at every dinner and captain crunch for every breakfast.

voted 7 but should probably be a 5. I like odd things (relative to southern USA) like beef tongue tacos and blood sausage but I'm not doing eye balls or whatever

8-9. Will eat insects, worms, any type of seafood but there have been things on fear factor I wouldn't eat.

There was some kind of maggot infested thing on fear factor that there is no way I would have even attempted to eat.
