Feels like this "unwritten rule backlash" stuff is getting beaten down like crazy.

Outside of the team that was originally offended, has anyone else come out on the side of upholding this unwritten rule? It seems like everyone is screaming at those players and nameless faces.

First Tatis takes a position player yard. Then he steals 3rd up 6. Now he changes his walk up music to Cry Me A River.

This is not the hero this game deserves, but I'm here for it.

That I'm less supportive of, but it's about time someone took the piss out of the sanctimonious side of baseball.

Man that's awful. Have loved Thom's work for long time. He's toast. He "apologized" (for getting caught).

The "that's not who I am" thing don't fly. That's your belief period. Don't disown it minutes later.

If he's saying stuff like that at work around coworkers, Lord only knows what he says outside of it

Yup.  Used to love Thom, even as recently as last week.  But give me a break with "that's not who I am".

I like it.  Crybaby players and their unwritten rules can go jump in a lake.

Bauer with the cleats and "Send it" T shirt last night was epic.  I know he rubs a lot of people the wrong way, but I find him entertaining.. and frankly he is dealing this year on top of it.

He was certainly dealing last night against my Royals.

The guy is a %^&*@! though.  Which sucks because he has a lot of really good points about the state of baseball. But all of his childish antics just detracts from it.

Absolutely love my Pads this years. In my 40+yr fandom of them there not a whole lot of years I can say that.  Tatis is a Superstar and Manny’s waking up.  The 3-0 grand slam galvanized the team, they are pure fire since then.

Slam Diego is a brilliant move.  Hard not to root for them.

👍.
They just now came back from down 4 runs in the bottom of the seventh-inning (double header so last inning) and down to 2 outs to win on a walk off home run my Myers.  Manny had 2 homers and Tatis hit a bomb to the top of the western metal supply building (only second player ever to do that).  So fun to watch.

As much as I would like to talk #### about it, as I’ve hated the Dodgers my entire life, there’s zero question they are the betting favorite and an absolutely stacked team.  Nothing but respect for that squad.  I even like Dave Roberts (though that just burned a bit to type).  Hopefully we meet up in the playoffs, would be a fun series.

@OldHossRadbourn: Notable trade deadline deals:
1988: Braves get McGriff
1989: A’s nab Henderson
1589: Henry Bourbon acquires Paris for LHP John Calvin
2020: a bunch of players, who cares, I don’t know what day it is

Still watching every White Sox game. Not only are they good, they are fun to watch as mentioned previously. While I was hoping they could get a #1/2 pitcher like a Lance Lynn, I'm not sure  what kind of deal they could have made without touching part of what will be the core for the next 5-7 years (maybe Kopech/Collins/Dunning?).

I'm fine with them not doing anything because truthfully, as much as I am hoping they can win it all during this Silly Season™, most thought that 2021 was going to be the breakout year anyway. Anything earlier than that is just a fun surprise.

I do like the fact that Clevinger is leaving the AL Central.

Yeah, that team is scary good.  They look primed for the next 5 years. They also lead the league in # of necklaces per player.

But I am contractually obligated as a Royals fan to hate them.

Between Yoan Moncada, Yasmani Grandal, Luis Robert and Jose Abreu, aka the group I am dubbing The Cuban Missile Crisis, they have enough Cuban links to shame Mr. T.

They are very fun to watch.....but so are the Royals.  We (me and my son) watch a lot of both of these teams since we have Tim Anderson, Abreu, and Whit on our fantasy team as well as having a personal connection to the Royals.  It's been an outstanding season so far.

i did?  i rode my bike to shea, yanks were never an option and my dad wasn’t a yankee fan.  so here we are.  the indians get a boat load for clevinger and the mets have nothing to show for harvey and wheeler and syndergaard has little value now.  diaz and corpseno for kelenic has kazmir written all over it.

Still had that 86 team. One of my favorite teams ever.

The Royals are so frustrating though. They have a handful of good players, and they are certainly building a good pitching staff, but they need big bats.

They keep going after these speedy, athletic guys, but they can't get on base. Their lineup is a black hole at 6,7,8,9.

Mondesi has been a big disappointment.  I thought he had figured it out last year and then he got hurt.  He has been worse than terrible which is a big reason for some of that problem.  Having Salvy out isn't helping either.  I also think Gordon is about done.

I really like Dozier, Nicky Lopez (although he is up and down offensively), and Soler.  Whit is truly amazing and I love the way he plays.  But you are right that there are some big holes in the lineup.  They are still fun to watch though.

Been a Gordon fan since he was in college and agree.

0 times divorced, but if he keeps walking the lead-off batter, I’ll consider filing

I implore you all to put on the Red Sox game, they have this dude Robert Stock pitching, and he looks like he's twice-divorced and completely given up on life. I can't stop watching him. It's transfixing.

The Braves have had a player hit 3 HRs in back to back nights now. Ozuna last night and Duvall tonight.
Apparently this included a couple of new feats. It was the first time ever an NL player hit 3 HRs in a game at Fenway (Ozuna Tuesday night) and the first time in MLB history that teammates hit 3 HRs in a game in back to back games.

Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig had three-homer games on back-to-back days with the 1930 Yankees, but not in back-to-back games. Ruth had his three-homer game in the first game of the team's May 20 doubleheader. Gehrig'scame in the second game of their May 21 doubleheader.
