How do you see the T.Y. Hilton/DHB Split working out? (1 Viewer)

omg the last dozen posts or so are fantastic.
Are you going to state an opinion or just post smarmy comments? If you think I should hold on to Hilton with a bench made up of David Wilsons and Steven Jacksons, I'd like to hear it. We're not questioning his talent (I drafted him in the 7th), just how much they're going to use him.

I'm hoping yesterday's game plane was an isolated things made special for SF. The lack of passing attempts in such a close game was surprising.

Week 1: DHB (6.3 pts) vs TY (5.0 pts)

Week 2: TY (18.4 pts) vs DHB (3.0 pts - Injured and left game)

Week 3: DHB (10.9 pts) vs TY (3.3 pts)

Series is 2-1 DHB after 3 weeks.

Are people holding both of these guys? Dropping? I'm a little concerned with Richardson there now. Maybe there won't be enough targets to make all of Wayne, DHB, Hilton and Fleener fantasy viable...

Going to wait and see how much of Hilton's lack of targets was due to his injury. Won't start him this week, but certainly won't cut him.

What are Hilton owners doing this week? Wait and see which of the last two weeks was the illusion? Or putting him in against a horrible Jacksonville team?

Pretty sure I'm gonna go with Hilton over Bowe for my WR3. Alex Smith won't throw the ball more than 5 yards downfield so that limits Bowe. My concern with Hilton is that the Jags are horrible and Colts should get up early so they might abandon the pass and go run first. Hopefully Hilton can do some damage early before that happens.

Sidney Rice was able to destroy this secondary last week. I think this looks like one of Hilton's potential big games, even though the Colts will probably be running a lot.

Moved him in a deal this week that freed up a spot where I was able to pickup Nate Washington. I was actually considering dropping TY outright for Washington. I'm spooked by the desire of this team to become a power running offense. I sense that TY will be boom or bust all season and I'll let his new owner deal with that headache.

ROS, I think Nate will put up better overall stats (with less volatility) IF Britt continues to be phased out. Washington was on the wire in both my leagues (ten teamers) until this morning. Might be a decent alternative for those who've had enough of the Hilton coaster.

I am going to continue to start him as my other options are not great. The league I have in also rewards rtn stats and I am 3-0 so I can afford to be a little more patient. .. but I am concerned. This power running crap is not good at all. I may try to come up with some trade to get rid of him if I don't see some numbers soon. I won't drop him though

Dropped DHB and will avoid starting Fleener unless I need to. The situation just isn't very favorable as long as both backs are healthy.

DHB might be a nice stash and wait going forward. The Colts are rebuilding thier identity into a smash mouth team and that favors DHB on the field for his blocking ability. Also doesn't hurt to hear that TY is in a walking boot.

T.Y. Hilton (foot) is not practicing Friday.
Hilton was spotted in a walking boot and may have suffered a mid-week practice injury. It's not clear if his status for Sunday's game is in jeopardy. Hilton was limited to just 38 snaps due to a groin issue last week.

I've been DHB's biggest proponent but watching him play it's obvious that he's being used only as a possession receiver. He might have some bigger days but I don't see much use for him in fantasy outside of a possible bye week fill in. He may be on the field a lot but I don't expect it to translate to a lot of points.

I'm not trying to talk you into picking DHB back up. It's just that I think the identity of the Colts as we have known them is going thru a major overhaul. I don't see them being that downfield passing team anymore. They are going to follow the mode of the Seahawks or Niners as a run first team, I think. If this is the case, the downfield shots to TY would diminish and the short timing routes and curls are going to be more the norm. We have to see this play out to be sure, but it looks like where this offense is heading imo.

that's just silly the facts
Fixed. Through 3 weeks, DHB went in the 14-15th rounds in leagues compared to TY being in the 7th-8th rounds. So far, DHB has been better value. Not a proponent of either guy, but at this point DHB has performed as expected for his draft position and TY has not.

A wasted pick from the 15th is a much, much, MUCH better value than a wasted pick from the 7th. Not sure where you're seeing these apples of yours.

Slow your roll dude. read the post above slowly. dhb has outscored ty 2 out of 3 weeks. ty had 1 very good week. i did not deny that. frankly, i would want consistently out of my wr2, not feast or famine every week. interpret the data anyway you want, but you are arguing a 6 pt difference between guys that were drafted 7-8 rounds between them. not sure how you think that is good value, but dhb has been the better pick thru 3 weeks based on draft spot.maybe that will change today. we'll see.

apples.

TY...not getting snaps, dealing with two injuries...he's primed to go off this week.

what are we doing with TY today fellas?
Considering dropping him actually. I don't know. He's so hot and cold. Seems like he's behind Wayne, DHB and Fleener most of the time. Richardson will get a lot of carries. He's on my bench in PPR right now. Starting Hartline over him in the flex. Considering dropping Hilton for Hill though.

Sitting him for Kembrell Thompkins. I'm not trusting him until he shows he's truly healthy. I don't think he's been right since the first half of the Miami game in week two. Certainly not dopping him, though. He has Harvin/R. Cobb-like talent and potential.

Had him plugged into the Flex all week, the boot on Friday made me swap him out for Fleener. Such a tough call here.
Interesting dilemna, have a related one. Picked up Fleener to cover Finley's bye, and was comfortable with sitting T.Y. for VJAX because with T.Y.'s toe potentially limiting him, that's a bump for Fleener.

With VJAX active but ailing, may just put T.Y. in instead of VJAX and hope that both Fleener and T.Y have a productive day against a very poor D. My guess is that the Colts are going to run a lot more than they need to pass today, though.

Correct. This has been a lose/lose situation so far for fantasy owners. Nothing for either the DHB or TY camp to brag about.

Yeah, the main difference is that nobody was bragging about having DHB. ALL the Hilton owners were touting breakout.

Both DHB and TY owners are losers because they are wasting their roster spots on inconsistent crap. The reason they are in this position is because they are both suckers who actually believed the "Reggie Wayne is getting old and lost a step in the 2nd half of last year" BS.....despite Reggie posting pretty good games last year in the 2nd half.

I think the faulty piece of reasoning more people fell victim to was the idea Luck was going to take a significant step forward as a fantasy producer this year. Ain't happenin'.

No. As a guy who bought in to the Hilton hype, we fell victim to the assumption that the Colts would feature him more given his innate talent and game-breaking skill.

He still has the talent, but pretty clear that he is not separating himself and that the situation doesn't look to really tilt in Hilton's favor either.

Tried so hard to trade for a wr this week so I didn't have to start him (garçon bye). Thanks to my whole league for being stingy ***holes!

That was pretty amazing to watch. He was so fast and quick, it looked like he was toying with DB's from time to time.

Would have been that much better if he could reliably catch balls that hit him in the hands.

Kudos to the few that started him. I see by online manager stats that not many owners did, this week. Looks like Hilton is indeed emerging, though I doubt it did many much good this week. I'm sure the handful of DHB drafters dropped him weeks ago, and I wish luck to those of you moving Hilton back into your lineups next week.
