How I Met Your Mother (1 Viewer)

Awesome if true. Their characters were made for each other. As were Barney and Robin. My perfect ending to this show is for one more season in which Ted and Chalke get together, Barney and Robin get together and Marshall and Lily have a baby. Yes I know she's preggo now, but that would be a cool ending to the show: Ted married, Barney engaged and Marshall a dad.

If true... awesome!!
Nope. Nope. Nope.I like Sarah Chalke, and she has been solid on the show. But the whole aborted wedding throws too much crap between them, and really ruins the whole "telling the story of how he met her" theme. Hopefully, this is just a red herring, and he meets the real mother because of meeting back up with Chalke.

Also, the writers have been pretty good about tying things together and Chalke just doesnt fit. The mother is supposed to be the one with the yellow umbrella and she was supposed to be a bar at the same time as Ted in an episode. At this point, though I liked her in the role, I think they need to find someone else.

 Jim Abbott was my favorite ballplayer as a kid. Got to see him throw a complete game shutout once in Yankee Stadium. Oh, and loved the consistency return of the Intervention banner. The charts were hilarious (especially "Bush" being a dirty president's name at #2 and #9). Also good to see the cute Kit Pongetti still getting work (Fran the copy lady).

With two episodes left this season, I think, it might not be Sarah Chalke but she could introduce Ted to the actual mother in the finale. I forget all the continutity about the St Pat's bar and the umbrella.

Edit: Homer Simpson was great as the homeless guy. Watched him in a movie last week and no one believed it was him since he wasn't doing the voice.

Lilly was obviously missing at the intervention. Is she back this season at all?

Not sure. But the wife and I do enjoy watching how they hide the pregnancies of both of the main women on this show.

something like, "hey my friend used to have an umbrella exactley like that!"P.S. I knew it was her when I saw her man hand... that was odd - my wife thinks I have been stalking her now :wolf:

Ted said they didn't see her for four weeks after the dirty joke a couple of weeks ago. There were 4 episodes left after that one, so I'm pretty sure they used that to explain why she wouldn't be there for the rest of the season. Maybe she shows up during the season finale though?

Just posted on EW.com:

I defy you to find a single fan of How I Met Your Mother who isn't asking themselves exactly that question in the wake of last night's humdinger of an ending -- which seemed to strongly hint (if not outright reveal) that Sarah Chalke's Stella is the show's eponymous mom. Unfortunately, only two people on the planet know the answer. Fortunately, I just got off the phone with one of 'em --executive producer Carter Bays!

Is Stella the mother?

CARTER BAYS: I won't say whether she's the mother or not, [but] we were definitely very careful in the wording of the narration. Obviously, we're not going to say, 'Okay, here she is! Show's over."

Was it an intentional fake-out?

BAYS: Nothing's a fake-out on this show. We established very early on that this is a very windy, twisty story, and the message of the show is there's a ridiculous series of events that has to happen before this guy meets the woman he marries... I will say this about the next two episodes: Everything will be made clear and it will move the ball forward.

You certainly got people talking.

BAYS: We freaked out a ton of people. We've never really kept a big secret from the audience. And what secrets we do have we usually tell people and there are usually spoilers floating around. And this kind of felt like, "Let's try and do something that takes everyone by surprise and really blow people's minds." And I think we did it.

What kind of reaction have you been getting?

BAYS: It seems to be split 50/50; some people loved it but a lot of people really hated it. And I certainly don't want to tell you that I like it when people hate my show, but knowing where the next two episodes go, I feel like those are both legitimate reactions and both what we were going for.

Does the yellow umbrella belong to Stella?

BAYS: I can't say one way or the other.

Can you give me a preview of next week's episode?

BAYS: We'll reveal why Ted running into her again is such huge moment. He already ran into her once before and didn’t do anything, but this one has more meaning and we'll find out why next week.

Is it your plan to hold off on confirming the identity of the mother is until the final episode of the series?

BAYS: That's always been the plan, but obviously we have a lot of options at our fingertips.

Which side of the 50/50 split do you fall on? And how do you think Stella figures into the Mother mystery? Weigh in below! And then check out Ask Ausiello on Thursday to see out what else Bays told me about this season's final two episodes.

These two answers seem to indicate that Stella is not the mother. :phew:

I have to say, I didnt see this coming.

Theres still a chance shes the one that introduces Ted to his wife, who knows. If Stella is the mother, I'm not sure I would be happy. You don't marry a girl that runs away from you on your wedding day to go with another guy.

It's not her...they've already alienated her character to us...most won't be too accepting of her being the one.

I watch very few shows any more - this one has become must see though!

Marshall's charts were

I know what happens with Chalke

mytagid = Math.floor( Math.random() * 100 );document.write("

Not the mother. Her financee (and baby daddy) is actually standing feet away when she walks up to Ted. He feels bad and tries to hook Ted up with an architecture gig for some outlandish/half crazy dude. Ted and Chalke finally get some closure too.

*** SPOILER ALERT! Click this link to display the potential spoiler text in this box. ***");document.close();

I really starting watching this show from season 2 on and my wife and I are hooked. After doing some googling there seems to be sometype of "tracy theory" being the wife of Ted Mosby. I dont' recall her and tried doing some youtubing to find a clip but no luck.

Any one aware of this theory?

Sorry I didn't read the past 12 pages so if its in there I apologize.

Episode was pretty good and the season finale next week is called "the leap" Trying to read between the lines but I know it has something to do with ted's 31st birthday.

No idea who Tracy is. But, what I do know is that the show has not been renewed yet from CBS. FOX may keep it up on their channel due to syndication deals but for now it is a no-go for the Fall.

Typical - great show that is fresh, original and funny yet struggling to survive - sounds like Arrested Development. Hope the networks dont screw this one up too!

Variety is reporting that Twentieth Century Fox Television has made syndication deals with local stations in several national markets. A separate deal for cable-exclusive rights will be decided in the coming months. Though Mother’s ratings have never been outstanding, the series is very attractive in the syndication market for a couple reasons. The audience typically skews younger and there aren’t too many sitcoms that will be offered in syndication in the near future. Though sitcoms aren’t in big demand in network primetime, they’re a big hit in syndication.

Though it’s nice that fans will be able to see the show five days a week, the great news becomes apparent when you read the “fine print” of the syndication agreements. Mother’s four-year syndication contract stipulates that the studio will deliver 110 half-hour episodes in the year 2010. At the end of the fourth season (which kicks off on Monday), only 90 episodes will have been produced. That means that, under the syndication deal, the studio is obligated to deliver at least 20 more episodes, ensuring Mother will get a fifth season.

The profitable syndication market has come into play several times over the past couple years. Though their ratings are good networks are looking for great. ABC’s Scrubs and According to Jim were both renewed because they’re big moneymakers in syndication. This scenario will push Mother past the fifth season. If the show goes for additional years, the local station contracts will be extended, ensuring the studio boatloads of more cash.

CBS doesn’t own Mother so there’s no guarantee that the network will renew the series next Spring. However, since Twentieth Century Fox Television is committed to making more episodes, they may give CBS a good deal on season five. If CBS doesn’t want it, the show could switch networks and would likely move over to the FOX network, a corporate sister of Twentieth Century Fox Television.

One way or the other, it looks like a sitcom that’s always been on the bubble is finally going to get a welcome bit of security. Stay tuned!

I just dont understand how this show is even on the rocks.

Family guy was cancelled and dead until the DVD success got them back in the game

Look for the same thing to happen next year with Arrested Development - movie will be a hit and execs will be running to get it back on the air.

I think "Tracy" was the girl that brushed into Ted at a bar in one of the episodes. I think there was some talk about it in this thread, but I'm too lazy to go look for it.

How Sarah Chalke has come since Rosanne.

I so want to bang her....she's not the hottest chick on TV...but she does a great job (on Scrubs and HIWYM) of being a "real person".....you really feel like she's someone who you already know

....and want to bang

As a note, WeddingBrideMovie.com has the poster on it, with nothing else. The release date is May 2010.

As that would be the season finale next year, (completely assuming it's renewed), I'm guessing it will play into the story.

As a note, according to EW.com, it's a sure thing to be renewed. (and yay, Chuck has been upgraded to "Now a safe bet. (Yay!)" )
